I’ve been homeless. Built a cargo conversion 5 1/2 years ago. I lived in a Jeep Liberty for a year saving to buy that cargo trailer. I now have a new paid off truck to pull that cargo trailer. I’m not homeless now. I’m houseless by choice. I did it all on my own. No begging. I ate at churches and the Salvation Army when needed. I’m saving money now not paying high rents or mortgage. I only give to the catholic charities or the Salvation Army. They verify the stories being told. The homeless and nomadic culture is a bunch of con artist and beggars. The Catholic Church makes you prove your needs. I’ve lived with the beggars and nomadic tribes. Thieves. I’m solo out here because I don’t trust anyone. When they all go to quartzite az for the winter my dogs and I go to the snow. I did it on my own. The homeless can also. In a few months I’ll take my social security and union pension. I worked my whole life. I gave to the system. Those that gave get.
@@DoubleGChargo the homeless situation is very complex. It’s a disservice to lump ever homeless person into a category, but I understand where you’re coming from. Yes there are a lot of bad apples out there, but there are also a lot of good people who have been knocked down. Many are older individuals, and also some with extreme medical conditions. I have converted 5 vans, SUVs, and cars into campers. And I converted a cargo trailer into a camper. It’s great that you had the skills, physical ability, and tenacity to do it all on your own, but not everyone can do that. Some people only need a little assistance, and others need a ton of help to get back on their feet.
