Funny, looks like it will be plenty roomy inside once all the tools and equipment find their place! Awesome!!!

Thanks again Robert. I think she will be lovely. After all that hassle with the watertank build it was so rewarding to put tge floor back down and see the space.🙂

Looks great! And, most importantly, very dry. This is going to be great when it's finished!

This is my first time visiting your channel. I'm in the US of A. I am really taken in by the type of boating around the UK and surrounding areas. What made you decide to go with a lifeboat over a narrowboat, widebeam, or something like a Dutch motorbarge? I'm a motorboater converted over to a sailboater. I'll never lose my love for a nice big spacious cruising motorboat. I had plans to build a large Teign motorbarge but the virus put my suppliers out of business before my supplies arrived. Thankfully, I was refunded the deposits I paid in. Have a good evening.

Thank you very much for your comment and wrlcome on board! I always had sailing crafts, but being so dependent on wind and lack of space made me decide to start this venture. A lifeboat because it gives me the most space possible for this size boat. The head roon is 8 foot which is unheard of in any other boat. Also they are very strongly build and will do the job perfectly, making me less dependant on perfect cruising days, which are rare. Hope you will enjoy the rest of the series. Good luck with your own adventures.😁

Have you given any consideration to weight distribution in this vessel? Also what type of seas do you anticipate this boat operating in, will it be going out into offshore waters, or is it going to be strictly a river or inshore waters usage only?

Hiya, thank you for taking the time to ask me some questions.
This boat is for 120 people and fully loaded would ad 10.8 tonnes of weight. I am using heavy materials as ballast and started off with putting 3.5 tonnes of ballast in her before I started the conversion. She has a 1000 litre watermark in her keel and as I am still building, she will still get heavier. All the weight is on the floor, so nice and low.
She will be used at sea, as she is too big to go on most inland canals in Britain.
Hope that answers your questions. Cheers.

Coming along great, I'm just wondering how big your boat is? And where did you get it please?

Hi, thanks for your comment. I bought Hygge from Denmark. She is 10.9 metres by 3.9 metres.😁

@@lifeboathygge Wow that's a wide boat. The ones I've been looking at on Apollo duck are a lot narrower. Maybe I should start looking elsewhere?

Noting Denmark I bet it was expensive?
