This is a very unique experience. I would say yes to trying it. But no curtains, not a sun person the bathroom situation, black out, diesel smell…hmmm🤔 Its a maybe for me. But they definitely utilized all the space available and made it very homey! Thank you Jamie and Matthew for bringing us along. X Debbie
Ooh, that looked great fun! I'd love to stay there but sadly not accessible for me these days. I stayed on a boat about 20yrs ago in California and loved it. 😍 xx
I don’t think the marina is the best spot for this - I’d recommend the pier at Town quay or Mayflower park for ships departing city / horizon and mayflower terminals
Definitely something a bit different and something I'd enjoy. Don't think I'd convince the husband though somehow and it does seem a little on the expensive side.
It’s certainly unique! I do get why it’s pricey - different experience, on the water, mooring costs, costs to use the facilities at the block etc and of course it’s just one room so they need to make money. I do see why folk think it’s pricey though ❤️
Deeply hurt (obviously not) that when doing your tour of Ocean Village and more importantly the immediate area, having started filming in front of the apartment block (and the block where the marina facilities are) you didn't say "and this is the block that Brian and Mary live in" :-) lol
I must say very interesting accommodation but not for me. The shower room far too small. My wife & I always spend our pre-cruise at the Holiday Inn Winchester where they serve a delicious breakfast. During the duration of the cruise you park your car up at the hotel. A taxi picks you up after breakfast & takes you to the cruise terminal. They also pick you up at the end of the cruise. The Holiday Inn also have a delicious menu for dinner. Maybe you would like try bait out.
Thank you - I actually lived in Winchester for a while. I’m not keen on those transfers though. I like to be able to walk to the terminal or a quick taxi ride. I only live 30 mins from Southampton too so often do not drive. I also don’t like staying in the hotel for the whole duration - I prefer heading out for dinner in the town. The next I’ll be reviewing in this ilk is Chilworth Manor in the not too distant future! I’m glad the HI works for you!
Great Vlog Jamie. Don't think it's for me the Lifeboat. Look forward to a bit of Luxury and pampering on holiday and not seeing any here. Seemed a bit cramped and odd with no blinds or curtains. Very quirky.
I'd Buy A Fully Enclosed 125 Person Lifeboat To Put Inside A Big Truck So I Can Have A Drivable Off-Grid Storm Bunker/Tiny Home That I Can Drive To Work and Be Extremely Safe and Warm From The Weather and Wildlife Like Bears/Moose and More Plus I Love YA RUclips Lots and Lots and Lots and Lots and Lots and Lots
How coooool is this? Time to checkout one of Southampton’s most unique overnight stays! But was it a hit or miss?

I must say it was a great experience but not for us
Hi Jamie, how unusual. If it was parked in a deserted beach somewhere it might be something different. But not where it was. Good restaurant close by.
👍👍
Hey sir i love the quality of your videos and i think that your channel is awsome!
👍👍👍

It’s unfortunately not accessible at all but agreed, food fun!
Hi Jamie thanks for all the videos. Can you assist from the marina is it possible to see all the cruise ships leaving Southampton x

Great video. Thanks Jamie
Thank you so much!
Did you have to book for cocktails at Harbour on 6th? That looks like a good pre-cruise stop 🍹
Yes, booking usually essential here - it’s very popular

Quirky indeed m, luxury not so much 😂
Absolutely love your videos Jamie! I hope I see you on one of my cruises one day! (Also, I’m a teacher from Plymouth too!) 🩷
Oh small world!! Are you still in Plymouth?! And thanks for the support too
@@TravelBlogJamie Yes, still teaching and living in Plymouth! Very small world! 🩷
I was expecting a more aesthetically looking lifeboat?
🤔
This is a rig lifeboat so it literally would dive from a height from a platform on a rig into the water - not quite the same as a usual life boat
@@TravelBlogJamie ahh thankyou - I was expecting the typical orange looking ones - need to get out more 🤣🤣
@@Bessie66 you need to get in more rigs 😂😂😂

Quirky for certain! Probably not for me.
Not for us again either lol
So MATTHEW SAID HOW DID WE GET HERE LOL!
😂
£190 😳
Yes Joyce. There are morning costa and use of facilities at the block plus it’s essentially one room, not a hotel
#littlematthew is born
😂😂😂
I’ve called him this for years tbh
Uhm no thanks , cute but impractical and expensive to be uncomfortable.
Although expense also for mooring / extra facilities in nearby block, so I understand the extra cost here
