Insects swarm car - Amazing

Footage from the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa. During our family holiday in 1996/7, we had parked the car and had gone for a short walk up the cliffs. When we came back, we found that our car had become a hotspot for these giant wood lice - sea slaters??? I guess the vehicle was nice and cosy, there were lots of them around the beach prior to the walk, but we never expected this.

Well, that was revolting.I've certainly encountered these in the dirt for my entire life, but only one or two at a time and never in such disgusting quantities. The wave of them moving away in a panic after the car drove away was even more repulsive.
