Where the Bannockburn Monument is situated is the unspoilt Western part of the Battlefield the Central and Eastern Parts are now builtover with housing and Schools inc Bannockburn High (1979) on the Eastern Segment by Balquidderock Wood where 20 yrs ago Neil Oliver found battle artifacts and the Deep Ditch the course of the Bannock Burn which gave the retreating English Army sooo much Trouble on June 24th 1314.No corpses have ever been found yet despite many digs since the 18th C the soil on the Carse is 10-12 in thick on a bluish thick clay the slope down Eastwards to the Carse is a Prehistoric Raised Beach.

Yeah I watched a documentary a few years ago that done a deep dive into the site and surrounding areas, pretty sure Neil Oliver was in that one.
