The Padcaster Parrot Pro solves virtually all of my issues with existing teleprompter solutions while supporting very wide angle lenses! It's time to completely change how I shoot my on-camera segments of videos, as things are about to get a whole lot more efficient.

I really thought not being in focus was an artistic choice
Being soft is, being completely out of focus is not. To be fair, it was only a couple videos that ever made it public and they were mostly years ago
@@EposVox I see
Blur background... Is totally different from been out of focus
No just noobs not knowing to set their camera on manual focus and using an appropriate fstop such as f8 or even f4 if u dont move you head back and forward alot. Yet, for some reason all youtubers seem to think AF is required when u are sitting in one place and not even moving out of the focal plane 😂
I always enjoy a good setup/tour video. 👍
😎
Dude thank you so much for this video! I had actually bought the Parrot Teleprompter 2 and I heard about the wide angle lens problem so I hadn't actually opened it up since I own a wide angle lens. Therefore I'm now sending it back for a late restocking fee and going through Kickstarter now for this model!
I have very limited knowledge on the technical front of video/audio recording, and really had no need to watch this video, but it's always fun to watch some of this content. Cheers!
Great vid man - lots of great info to think about!
teleprompters are an interesting piece of kit. Fortunately I don't need them since I don't record, but you definitely tempt me for having chat on my camera
This is going to sound super dumb, but you're the first content creator I've seen that's actually touched on redundant audio and using that AVerMedia shotgun mic is a simple and adequate solution. I've asked the question about audio redundancy to other gear focused content creators and was always told "it's easier to just reshoot the video if the audio is bad" and while that's probably a legitimate option 99% of the time, sometimes when you're in a time crunch or you're recording something that you can't fake the first experience of (i.e. unboxings) having something like that little shotgun mic is probably a life saver even if the audio isn't perfect (probably way better than the on camera mic by a significant amount). Thanks so much for mentioning it in this video, even if it's just a quick footnote.
Looking forward to the OBS video, so much has changed that i need a pro to go over :D
This dude Should have a Million Subscribers
Well thank you!
Great video.
EposVox is an entertaining, video/audio genius. I have been just riveted, edge of my seat, blocking out the world around by this video about a product I do not need, won’t buy, probably will not think about again… but watched 18 minutes and 40 seconds about. His stand thing is cool too, this dude and A/V mad scientist ,\../
Bahahaha thank you
@@EposVox No, thank you sir! Once a month I like to pretend I know what I am doing with my EQ’s and obs filters. Then I come watch your videos again to fix them… It used to be once a week.
amazing
Looks good. However I would lean toward the Desview T3 Teleprompter to eliminate the glare of the phone
Omg this is a awesome find.
i hope someone will come out with a decent under screen camera at the middle of a phone so most of this crap can be turned into just one device. your microphone sounds mighty fine by the way
I discovered your channel looking for a good teleprompter and went with the old padcaster. I love it but mounting and unmounting my phone is a total pain and I have to zoom a little to remove the vignette in the corners. I don't have a crazy setup, I just use a Canon M50 with the kit lens. I had to but a new heavy duty mount head to stop knocking the camera down every time. It's a great product but I have the same complaints as you
My setup is pretty low end as far as dedicated setups go so it's a hell of a prompter
This new device is awesome and I'm going to see if I can swing it financially
I am very sorry to have to inform you that the project you advertised is a rip-off. I selected the shipping destination when ordering on Kickstarter and free shipping was shown. It was also advertised that "Taxes, VAT and import duties" were included in the price of 129 USD. The order is a many months overdue and now I have received an invoice to pay ANOTHER 51.75 USD for taxes and shipping. What kind of a scam is this?
A lot of Kickstarter projects this year started charging shipping when they originally said they wouldn’t. Not sure what’s going on. Does suck, doesn’t really make the product itself a scam lol. I’ve reached out to Padcaster to ask about it
I'm pretty sure the desview T3 been doing the same thing for 2 years but I do like how they integrated the cover. I should use it more. 😂
I acknowledge Desview in this video. They violate Padcaster’s patents and have been removed from B&H etc
ahhh ok so the support makes sense. Thanks!!
Look at the focal flange distances as well, it matters!
Are you able to record a lav mic wirelessly to that interface using the Deity product and still have the sound in 32 bit and everything else?
Can you help me please
I was having gtx 1080 with 2 nvenc chips i could easly record 4k hevc 100mbps at p6
Now with rtx 3080 when i record 4k 70mbps at p5 even at p1 it says encoder overloaded after 10 min of recording
I need a portable wireless light. Do you recommend Elgato Key Light Mini?
are you streaming in av1 ? can you please share your obs settings ?
Hi epos, what do you think for i5 13500, can it livestream with single pc setup OBS slow ? Thx
I very much doubt it. But there’s no reason to when you have GPU encoding
I thought everyone had been using DIY tablet/phone prompters.
Years ago, but that’s way too clunky for my workflows today
Man, its just so much kit!
I tried to go a lot but ended up really slimming my stuff down but smoothing out flow is a must.
Smooth workflows absolutely a must
I love my teleprompter
Um, have you seen the Pocket Cue V2 from prompterpeople??
First I’m hearing of it, doesn’t specify how wide you can go, and holy balls $250
I think this is great! But why not just use a cheap NEWER teleprompter with a small ipad/monitor/whatever. You can use any lens with those and even use something with a longer focal distance and still be able to read the words. Problem with those small phones is your ability to read at distance is bad.
I've been using telepromters like that for years (ok maybe more than a decade?!) with no issue. I can throw a surface laptop, monitor, phone, anything up there and I can read easily.
Those newer ones are shit, require a lot more rigging to use, and when using a tablet you absolutely cannot use wide angle lenses as this whole video is about. So as to the “why not” - because it doesn’t check any of the boxes any of this was aiming for and goes in the opposite direction for some of them
@@EposVox I've been using 24mm on full frame for years. The glass is much larger so you can get closer with less problems overall. You are using 16mm apsc and still having to crop the image.
linus would have a heart attack if he saw ur cables
Linus has employees to do his menial work for him. I'm just me, and I'm going to be changing this all the time, so the cables need to be readily accessible. They're managed just fine and Linus never has to deal with him, don't give a shit what a random other youtuber thinks of them
@@EposVox i respect it i have cables everywhere
first :D love your videos
Thank you!
that is not a c stand
It's a rolling c-stand.
@@EposVox no it is not. thats a combo
