    Honestly the launch on this ride is the most intense element i've ever experienced on a coaster. It felt like my heart skipped a beat haha! I didn't notice the taiko drums playing in the queue so i'll have to listen for them my next visit.

      I love Do-dodonpa. The ride itself is pretty fun but the launch track has this epic drumming soundtrack. The rest of the ride is great but really shines at night. The launch is the best part. I like it because it is really forceful, but lacks that uncomfortable gut dropping feeling of other launches. Best launch out there. It’s far superior to the other launch models out there like the intamin accelerator in my opinion. I love it

    A fun little fact is that if Do-Dodonpa accelerated for the same LENGTH OF TIME as Formula Rossa at the same acceleration it would be going 565 kph or 350 mph.

    Nice man!
    I'm planning to visit Fuji-Q Highland later around early August (August 2 to be precise). Let's hope Fuji-Q's constant long lines on its coasters and bad weather operations won't ruin my experience for this once in a lifetime park!
    Anyways great video!

    • @HaohmaruHL
      @HaohmaruHL 6 лет назад +2

      Altron Productions It's based on pure luck. I've been to Fuji q several times and only once I had a visit with relatively short lines. Later in the evening around 7 or so there were basically no one left. We could ride a coaster, exit it, and re-enter again only to wait for 3-5 minutes to ride it again right away. It was sick. And the strangest part is it was Saturday. That was an epic day.
      But you absolutely have to stay away for this place on holidays. I had a misfortune of waiting more than 3 hours for eejanaika. I only did because I love this ride and wanted my friend to experience it. You can invest into fast passes but it's price usually gets doubled on holidays. And that's if you are fast enough to buy any before they run out of stock. I advise that you arrive at the park by 8-9 am. If you come around 12 or later your day may be ruined by 2-3 hour lines and in the end you won't manage to ride that much till the park closes. There's an app for Fuji-q ride lines similar to Disneyland one, pretty helpful. I used to peek into it from time to time to see how long the lines are and it rarely gets below one hour even on weekdays. Monday and Friday are also not very good days to visit since lots of Japanese take 3-day day offs adjacent to weekends, for example sat-sun-mon or fri-sat-sun.
      You also absolutely must research the weather of the area park is located in for they day of your visit, because the slightest winds or a drop of rain and rides like Fujiyama will be closed. Or even worse, half of all rides can be closed.
      Rides like attack on titan are scheduled and cost an extra, they also close early, so check the schedule if you plan to go.
      If you end up with time to spare you can go for a walk to lakes near Fuji. For example Kawaguchiko lake is relatively close.

      @altronproductions2179 6 лет назад

      Haohmaru HL Thanks for the advice. But as I said, I’m visiting on August 2 which is a Thursday. August 2 is neither a public holiday or weekend. But do I still have to face Long lines on that day itself?

    • @Tortidis987
      @Tortidis987 6 лет назад +1

      Absolutely buy the Zekkyo Priority Ticket which you can find on Fuji Q's website. August is summer vacation and all parks in Japan are at peak crowd levels, even on Thursdays. Combine that with Fuji Q's terrible operations and you'll be lucky to get on 2 rides all day. It's a bit expensive but absolutely worth it. I went on a quiet day in February without one and had to wait an hour and a half for each ride so I recommend the zekkyo ticket even for those visiting in the low season

    • @altronproductions2179
      @altronproductions2179 6 лет назад

      Could I buy Priority Tickets from Convenience Stores around Tokyo like Family Mart, Lawsons? Cause I saw the Zekkyo Priority Tickets sold at Fuji-Q websites are for Japanese.
      I saw from this site you can buy such tickets in these convenience stores: blog.gaijinpot.com/a-fastpass-to-enjoy-fuji-q-highland/
      Otherwise, I have to take the earliest highway bus to Fuji-Q and reach just as the park opens so to get the tickets before its sold out.
      I emailed the Fuji-Q park on this but so far, never gotten a response

    S&S actually use Airplane/Helicopter tires instead of standard polymer or steel rollercoaster wheels on the Thrust Air 2000 coasters. The reason for this is that during testing, because of how quickly the coaster accelerates with the compressed air launch it was causing steel wheels to warp and crack leading to unsafe conditions and unreliability. And was causing polymer wheels to melt or even explode from the sudden heat again being both dangerous and unreliabile. The rubber tires also have the side benefit of slightly reducing roughness.

    Dodonpa is also a popular music genre in 90s. The music when you are boarding the train is pretty badass. Do-don-PA. Do-do-don-PA!
    The lunch is pretty cool, it's so fast that the brain zones out for a second during it, failing to process the information of what's going on. It's like a space warp. But the rest of the ride kinda falls flat honestly. Especially not a fan of the loop, it's kinda slow and boring. Also somewhat bumpy and rough when you exit the loop. But that start is something!

    How come it looses it's speed so quickly? I mean it goes over 100mph and goes quite slow through the loop

    • @archermav
      @archermav 6 лет назад

      Correct me if im wrong but I do believe there are some trims on the first turn. Also, the extreme height of the loop would kill some of the rides speed

    • @coasterbot
      @coasterbot  6 лет назад

      The entire ride does seem to be trimmed by tyres that sit in the centre of the track.

    The wording was funky so i just wanted to clarify that this is no longer the fastest roller coaster in the world. That record now goes to Formula rossa in Ferrari world in Saudi Arabia

    • @coasterbot

      The wording wasn't that weird was it? I'm pretty sure it was simple to gauge this ride is no longer the world's fastest.
