Been in hospital again arteriel fibbrolation ,cardioversionx4 and now pacemaker, was looking forward so much in coming out to see your videos,no really it ment a lot to me. Call me sad but anyway thanks for videos much enjoyed👍🇬🇧 and appreciated.
I like the way you think Mustie! I don't think RUclipsrs like you realize the impact you make on youth who don't have a real life positive influence. Folks like you, Jennie's Garage, ChrisFix & Tyler's Neighborhood Garage are some of my all time favorite people to watch. It's calming for me and I learn a lot. So, just a big Thank You!
I used "Amazing Goop" on a trolly tire once. I put it back together wet and filled it part way up. Left it overnight and ten years later it hasn't leaked... Good stuff to have in the shop for a lot of things.
He had a much worse problem with those tires and rim. When you put Slime in you have to run the tire in circles for a while or it will not work. My tractor tires were in pretty bad shape and I put a half bottle in both and mowed the one and a half acres that I have. Then drove to the pretzel store and ate lunch about a half mile from my house. That was 2 years ago and neither tire has leaked since. Like the Zen Master said... We will see.
Found Mustei around 6 months ago now he is my favourite go to must watch can't miss when is the next one up video on whole of RUclips but have scrolled down to read some of the comments and have commented on this before why are there thumbs down? Me am an avit youtube watcher Yeh some better than other's but come on giving Daren a thumbs down some people are hard to please.
I tried tireject i believe them name is, its a little pricey. i saw someone on you tube use it. it fixed his tire, which was wasted so i thought it would work on mine and it did! good stuff!
Ron Shell I live in Florida and we get some serious rain...I used FLEXSEAL around my exterior windows sills and sealed all my raingutter joints too......no leaks in 2 years. I have it in black, white and clear. I use to spray my wood ramp to my shed/workshop with rubber undercoating but now I sprayed it with black Flexseal....nice grip on my lawn equipment and muddy boots
Mustie1, i wish i was just like you. i love working on engines like this. the only real experience i have is working on Goped engine (46cc) and a 31cc but that one had a bore and stroke kit that i put on it. i just love working on engines. and watching your channel kind of reignites the flame of passion that i have for these engines. i actually do learn a lot from watching you. all i have to say is thank you. your videos really do help people.
Hi I'm Don. I had some lawn tractor tires in as bad shape as these. At Tractor Supply(Berryman Tire Sael-R) the gal. bottle will fix these tires with 6 - 8 oz. Mine were so bad I aired them up to mow and they would go flat while mowing. After treatment they are still full of air after 6 months.
Dear Mustie1, you should think about "investing" in a tig, cleaner, more accurate, less fire hazard, and that does not make holes in the wheels ...... and if you choose in a tig ac / dc you can weld aluminum. I myself am welder t.i.g and made every day, welds for the nuclear industry (so waterproof!) Believe me, t.i.g will make your job easier; ) thank you for your videos !! eric from France
Mustie, Just a big thanks, buddy. I cannot estimate the amount of knowledge you have passed along to me. I can keep my lawn equipment humming now, and I barely know anything about anything.
When I was a kid I had a Sears Single Seater - 1.5 Tecumseh. Got tired of fixing the inner tubes so I wrapped & stuffed rags into them until firm. They worked great.
Experience tells me that when you are sealing a weld inside a rim that could potentially leak, Use an epoxy 2 part glue to seal it first. A fast cure would be fine. Any air dry material will never hold as you found out unless it uses the moisture in the air to cure it like a windshield urethane sealant or even a silicone sealer
When using a puller, it works so much better if you put tension on it then hit the head of the pusher bolt with a hammer. Then more tension then hit with hammer again. This method makes short work of a job that just tightening the puller alone won't budge.
+hdman97 This is for experimental and learning purposes only. :-) Mustie1 isn't a 13 year old anxious to go ride his new go kart. He has other "toys" which put this to shame. Everything will work out just fine. ;-)
That handyman in a can is a new idea. What I've always done with a tire that's shot like that is put about a half tube of alumaseal mixed with about 12oz of antifreeze. It doesn't hurt the rubber, won't rust the wheel and will continue to seal future leaks. Has worked every time that I've tried it.
Still going through your backlog and still loving them ...i don't comment much on your videos because i am learning more than i can teach But i am guilty of not hitting the thumbs up...i just forget... So from now i will hit the thumbs up ... What a load of waffle (me ) Take care and thanks for sharing ..👍☮❤
springy 2112 I try to make a habit of hitting thumbs up as soon as the video starts, at least on channels I trust to make good content, Like ol Mustie here.
3 our of 4 tires on my bobcat were dry rotted and leaking out the sidewall. I put slime in them about 4 years ago and they haven’t leaked since. Good stuff!
you have the coolest office in the US. man i wish i had what you had. if i did then i would work on engines (and probably make videos) a lot more than i currently do. to hang out with you for a day would be amazing.
Hiya Mustie. I've been watching your vids for quite a while but this is my first comment. My comment is actually a little bit of a complaint. Sometimes the way you name your videos makes it difficult to follow along on a multi-part series. Otherwise, I love your videos and have learned quite a bit.
In the future if you run into tires like that you can fill them up with great stuff. Expanding foam. Drill 4 holes in the side wall on the back of the tire and full them up. They will never need air and will never go flat.
I worked in an oilfield equipment shop for number of years and we always used heat to free collars from shafts. We hear heat it until red hot and then it's mallets, blunt rods + a mallet
Hey Bud take a 5/8” or 11/16” drill bit an drill the center hole out on the plastic manifold try matching up the intake hole to keep from restricting the carburetor
Yeah use that in gutters that leaks really bad and no leaks at all but then again I followed the instructions 100% what I do know for tires though cracked badly like that the green slime was the best product I have ever used another great video mustie1
Hey Mustie I found ya through Matty's Diesel Creek channel & love both of them. So good to see how you find multiple approaches to solve your problems. You're blessed to be able to laugh at your failures as much as your successes. Your calm & casual positivity is infectious mate, so keep it up! Great little machine, or I'm sure it will be, cobbled & reformed into a goer. I heard it hit the perfect sweet 'putt putt' idle point there for a few seconds there so you've almost got it purring with the new carby. Did I see that thing start first go with the 'new' carby? Whoa!
Two things....Heat on Both sides of the wheel flange to axle (no puller welded on) Now, after heat is applied twice even if it doesn't work at first, as it cools use your penetrating oil and leave it sit maybe overnight & then repeat the heat on both sides. I bet it'd come off. Secondly I'd look into buying new tires. Just my opinion
Looks like plenty of room on the back for a small battery? Snow blower engine, toothed flywheel? Electric starter? Does it have an extra magneto coil, for a headlight? Mount a couple to roll bar? Have you ever taken bike frames, fortified, big v-twin, DIY go cart? Old bucket car seat, gas & brake pedal, master cylinder & one rotor off a junk motorcycle- some stupid fast Frankenstein cart. I always enjoy the bikes you build.
I saw this video and awesome. You do know that you can drill some holes in the tires and fill them up with expanding foam to fill the tires and never have to worry about flats again. I have done it to all my mowers and 4 wheelers.
Lmao you should have just broke down and went to harbor freight and bought you some new tires. You know your going to wear them out riding the hell out of that gokart. Be safe man!
it's funny when you watch old mustie vids and he gets a motor and checks it out and writes on it "runs, bad carb", and a few vids later you come across a vid where he pulls the same motor out and cant remember when he wrote that :)
Mustie, I have watched many of your video's. Growing up guy's would always spray rusty stuff down first. I have never seen you do that first. You do seem lucky with getting stuff off. Peter
Ok, a 20 or 22hp motor and 31" tall lawn tractor tires shaped like a ford 9n tractors tires so they dig in the dirt then some 15" frt wheels Change out the steering set up and add disk brakes paint the whole deal. You could get 45 50 mph out of it. I once watched a shop put a Honda 750 motor on the back of one. Guys have done some wiled stuff with these go carts to make them very fast. But you need good braking system because at some point youve go to be able to stop. It goes from a kids toy to an adult thrill machine.
My one Cousin Derek put 440 2 cylinder engine Bombdaire snowmobile had 2 carbs plus daul exhausted on his plus 5 gallon fuel tank from Snowmobile too! It was fast plus ran lawn tractors wheels then did ATV plus foot pedals to front wheel are in the cage near front wheels to and had key ignition switch plus choke cable!
I wanna come over to your house and play, or at least hang out in the garage with ya ! lol Thank You for sharing your video, and letting us hang out again. ATB
You could put "White Out Pen" (your next sponsor :-)) lines on the socket when you are loosening large nuts with the impactor. It would make the progress stand out. I could see it move when you removed the axle nuts but that would be cool to see the stripes go by. Or maybe a spiral! :-) Man, that 3-IN-ONE penetrant works great, and fast. I already knew that, just commenting for those who may not have used it before.
Engine Start and a lighter works awesomely to seat those tires back on the rim. I've just put 4 new tires on my mower and nothing else would work. Quick spray inside the tire, light it and POP...it's on.
just remember not to put your fingers between the bead and the rim until your 100% sure the fire is out. Also, if it fails you need to blow new air in to combust for a second try. More is not always better as well, if you fill the tire with too many fumes there's not enough air to get maximum bang.
yea, i've seen video's though where the flame doesn't quite get inside and there's ether burning on the outside of the tire, then they go to stick thier hands on\in the tire and BOOM. I'm not sure if you'd lose any fingers, but at the least it's going to hurt like hell.
That rim just didn’t want to budge. You used all the tricks. Perhaps some multiple blaster applications over a few days. Nice find with the flex seal for the beads though. Now I can use the rest of my can for “something” since it didn’t work for me (or Tarus Kull) as advertised either. Looking forward to the next action packed, exciting and fun filled episodes of “Life returns to machines” with Mustie1.
I was hoping flex steel would work but didn't really think it would stretch with tire but hoping thanks mustie your real good I just wish I could watch something from your channel daily
The thing has Murray riding mower back wheels... Take a sharpened like a blade flat head screwdriver and a mallet to a section around the axle. You should see a slight gap between the wheel hub and the back cap. I had to swap the back wheels on my 95 Murray. An i had to do it this way to get it loose. But to get it back on, on both sides, I had to use the mallet and a flat ended short piece of rebar.
The canned sealant sounds like a great idea to me. It should work. By now you probably know as it's 3-1/2 months later now, but I don't know yet. love your videos. Oh, also a great idea getting comercial support to help with expenses. Keep um coming please.
Tip for rusty lug removal, Heat up the bottom of the lug and melt some candle wax toward the top of the lug. The heat will suck the melted wax onto the threads making it easier to take off. Try it
Been in hospital again arteriel fibbrolation ,cardioversionx4 and now pacemaker, was looking forward so much in coming out to see your videos,no really it ment a lot to me. Call me sad but anyway thanks for videos much enjoyed👍🇬🇧 and appreciated.
+Sean McCleery I hope your're feeling better now, or you're at least on the road to feeling better...
Get well soon chap.
Best of wishes, fellow Mustie fan!!!
Get well soon, take it slow and listen to the Doc. New Mustie always on the way. :)
Thats how i found Mustie1 after surgery many years ago, and I'm still a big fan. I hope your feeling better and get well soon!
Grandpa used to use #1 Red Permitex to seal the rusty rims on old cars. Wire brush them, apply #1 and mount the tire. Worked every time.
I like the way you think Mustie! I don't think RUclipsrs like you realize the impact you make on youth who don't have a real life positive influence. and thank you for the comment jesse
You should check out AvE.
I also like 805Roadking.
Use air racket
250 psi
And heat if that don't work pull out the plazma cutter or a grinder with thin cutting wheel
I love when you run into a problem that would completely derail me, but you chug along and get it done! Great lesson!
I never thought of issues as problems. Just treat issue as challenges.
I used "Amazing Goop" on a trolly tire once. I put it back together wet and filled it part way up. Left it overnight and ten years later it hasn't leaked... Good stuff to have in the shop for a lot of things.
You are a genius with engine's and not afraid to take on anything.
Get some SLIME... Works on my rotten lawn tractor tires. Great video. THANKS!
The stuff is cheap, and readily available.
I'm pretty sure he did use some slime or at least talked about it
He had a much worse problem with those tires and rim.
TOTALLY, THAT GREEN SLIME RULES!
He has used the industrial version many times. He is just trying new things. Remember, he's been at this a long long time.
for a while at Sears they "slimed" all tires on all new tractors before sale. Too many returns with flat tubeless tires. Thanks for the videos.
Holy sh... 45 minutes of awesomeness. I can't imagine the nightmare it must be to edit videos that long. Thanks for doing this.
Ya Buddy, I just finished one and Gave it away Mustie, Kids love them and So Do I. Cheers Dizzy.

I'm a little leery of infomercial products but my friend here in TN has used that flex seal & swears it's awesome so why not" Great vlog..!!
Ron Shell I live in Florida and we get some serious rain...I used FLEXSEAL around my exterior windows sills and sealed all my raingutter joints too......no leaks in 2 years. Wicking grade Loctite is great to dribble over a warm weld. It fills all the porosity.
Another very real video that helps people fix small engines , very satisfying to watch , cheers.

Mustie, Just a big thanks, buddy. I cannot estimate the amount of knowledge you have passed along to me. I can keep my lawn equipment humming now, and I barely know anything about anything.
Just for future reference you can get tubes with a bent metal valve to fit way better then the straight rubber valve. Love your vids man
Nice to have a lathe, great job!!!
When I was a kid I had a Sears Single Seater - 1.5 Tecumseh. Got tired of fixing the inner tubes so I wrapped & stuffed rags into them until firm. They worked great.

oh l hit it ,
Mustie1 gotcha. I kinda figured but thought I'd mention it just in case.
Do R/C! I often used to use the tension plus whack method, too
Awful lot at work but I would've just put the tubes in ..just saying.
+hdman97 This is for experimental and learning purposes only. :-)
Mustie1 isn't a 13 year old anxious to go ride his new go kart. He has other "toys" which put this to shame.

Love the channel , regular joe fixes and ideas. Passing this along to all my crew, looking forward to more 👍
You have way more patience then me , I would of got mad and threw the whole thing in the dumpster, but then we wouldn’t have this fun to watch video👌
Still going through your backlog and still loving them ...i don't comment much on your videos because i am learning more than i can teach

I will do that , take care Peace and Love from England ☮❤
That cart looks like its going to be fun.
I will be tuning in for the next exciting episode on this bit of go cart wrench'n for sure
Using some of that ChrisFix "Soapy Wooder" to find the tire leaks.
I remember that engine, came from a pressure washer. You showed it at the end of "$5 yard sale generator" posted on June 16th, 2016
Ahhh it's good to see it with air in the tires!
I used to have a yerf dog go cart. It was the best. Now it's my niece and nephew's!
3 our of 4 tires on my bobcat were dry rotted and leaking out the sidewall. I put slime in them about 4 years ago and they haven’t leaked since. Good stuff!
Mustie Wednesdays kick ass! Thanks Mustie
grandprismatic I
Can’t wait to see you driving it, should be a lot of fun.
you have the coolest office in the US. man i wish i had what you had. if i did then i would work on engines (and probably make videos) a lot more than i currently do. to hang out with you for a day would be amazing.
Hiya Mustie. I've been watching your vids for quite a while but this is my first comment. My comment is actually a little bit of a complaint. Sometimes the way you name your videos makes it difficult to follow along on a multi-part series. Otherwise, I love your videos and have learned quite a bit.
I will do that. Thank you 8deity.
Great videos, and agree the multi part videos need numbers, maybe Roman versions to fit the Mustie style?
In the future if you run into tires like that you can fill them up with great stuff. Expanding foam. Drill 4 holes in the side wall on the back of the tire and full them up. They will never need air and will never go flat.
Good Job & Video, thanks for posting it !
I worked in an oilfield equipment shop for number of years and we always used heat to free collars from shafts. We hear heat it until red hot and then it's mallets, blunt rods + a mallet
Great.. Another morning with Mustie...Go gettum teach...
Hey Bud take a 5/8” or 11/16” drill bit an drill the center hole out on the plastic manifold try matching up the intake hole to keep from restricting the carburetor
Those tires are good... they're only flat on the bottom! Har Har.
It's not a horde it's a treasure😊
to seat the bead: use your trusty petrol bottle and a lighter :D
Just got home from work great watch your channel while having a beer
Mustie it's only flat on one side!! When the engine was running I was glad you said it's still smells like 🐁 not moose lol!!!
Yeah use that in gutters that leaks really bad and no leaks at all but then again I followed the instructions 100% what I do know for tires though cracked badly like that the green slime was the best product I have ever used another great video mustie1
COME ON Mustie! We like the enggine installs! Couldve made a whole video out of that! :(
You should get one of the mini tire changers from harbour freight I got one works great and only like 20-30 bucks
Tire slime worked for me for the tires, sanding and permatex gasket sealer always works for the rim seal
It's the videos 1 year anniversary today
Awesome work as usual! I know it's the wrong thing to do, but when that rim refused to budge, all I could think was "sledgehammer" 😄
Whoa!
awesome job mustie :D i love watching you work. cant wait to get back into repairing small engines. so much fun and easy :D
You can make a puller out of some angle iron or flat stock in threaded rod it would work great or your rim
Heat that rim up cherry red, then hit it with a garden hose...then use the pneumatic chisel in the center of the axle...it will walk right off.
You think? I have a problem wheel on the Kubota mower. I finally gave in and just changed the tire without removal.
Cool...thanks for posting...very entertaining
I saw this video and awesome. You do know that you can drill some holes in the tires and fill them up with expanding foam to fill the tires and never have to worry about flats again. I have done it to all my mowers and 4 wheelers.
Good Ol Boy #76. bet the ride is much rougher.....
Lmao you should have just broke down and went to harbor freight and bought you some new tires. You know your going to wear them out riding the hell out of that gokart. Be safe man!
Found mine at Walmart, good price too
it's funny when you watch old mustie vids and he gets a motor and checks it out and writes on it "runs, bad carb", and a few vids later you come across a vid where he pulls the same motor out and cant remember when he wrote that :)
Live free or die! Gotta love NH!
Whimsical tip. Clean the tire before you repair it. This prevents do-overs from dirt falling onto the bead well.
Looking good
Mustie, I have watched many of your video's. Growing up guy's would always spray rusty stuff down first. I have never seen you do that first. You do seem lucky with getting stuff off.
Peter
Ok, a 20 or 22hp motor and 31" tall lawn tractor tires shaped like a ford 9n tractors tires so they dig in the dirt then some 15" frt wheels
Change out the steering set up and add disk brakes paint the whole deal.
New tires and a $100 harbor freight 212cc predator motor and you got a nice little toy
Well, at least you have some really clean tires
Good work...great...!!! From Argentina.
only notifications i enjoy getting
My one Cousin Derek put 440 2 cylinder engine Bombdaire snowmobile had 2 carbs plus daul exhausted on his plus 5 gallon fuel tank from Snowmobile too! It was fast plus ran lawn tractors wheels then did ATV plus foot pedals to front wheel are in the cage near front wheels to and had key ignition switch plus choke cable!
I wanna come over to your house and play, or at least hang out in the garage with ya ! lol
Thank You for sharing your video, and letting us hang out again. ATB
Aha, I recognize at least one VW steering wheel tucked away with the engines!
That one carb was halfway to powder!
LOL mumified carb insides, that's just a little too dead for even the ultrasonic to recover :-D.
That and idiots trying to run eco-diesel fuel (AKA fish 'n chips oil) in a petrol engine...one whiff and i chucked the whole thing in the bin.
RIP the little spider that saw in the first rim lol
You could put "White Out Pen" (your next sponsor :-)) lines on the socket when you are loosening large nuts with the impactor. It would make the progress stand out. I could see it move when you removed the axle nuts but that would be cool to see the stripes go by. Or maybe a spiral! :-) Man, that 3-IN-ONE penetrant works great, and fast. I already knew that, just commenting for those who may not have used it before.
Plan B..not that I have a plan B yet...epic..I am going to use that line at some point this week lol
great video to see
Engine Start and a lighter works awesomely to seat those tires back on the rim.
The theory is that the bead and rim are sealed, so no space for fingers :D
yea, i've seen video's though where the flame doesn't quite get inside and there's ether burning on the outside of the tire, then they go to stick thier hands on\in the tire and BOOM. I'm not sure if you'd lose any fingers, but at the least it's going to hurt like hell.
Oh, yeah that's normal. I just give it a quick tap on the sidewall with my foot to get it to ignite inside.
Hello Mustie1 and all the fellow subscribers.
WILLIAM KEATON hi
That green slime works great for tires
Great work thanks for sharing
Remember that tire shops use soapy water before they mount the tire. Let's you know where the leaks are but helps the tire sesl too
Its not soapy water they use
@@Ohiocountryboy-se2cn yes they do
95% of shops use soapy water. Some of the "upscale" shops say they use a special seating line. Probably still just soapy water.
Also pulling the valve stem pushing the tire down flat then slowly releasing ur hand while putting dawn dish soap in it will help seal it
wHEN i SOLD BOAT TRAILERS ON OLD TIRES I USED THE BLACK ROOFING SEAL ON THE BEADS--DID A WONBDERFUL JOB.
A heat gun will relax those tires long enough to ease removal, installation, and seating a bead. Not all three at once but it does work wonders
Cool . . . . let's go ridin' soon . . . Rog
