  • After the pro's bow out of repairing this engine, I decided to go after market and try to fix it myself. In this video I install a head from FridayParts on the Yanmar 3tnv76 Diesel Engine in my Johne Deere 2305. I chose FridayParts mainly because unlike other sellers on eBay and Amazon I found selling a complete head they had a website and customer service. Even then this was a significant risk since regardless of how things turned, this was a one way trip for my $850.00 purchase. If it was the wrong part or didn't work, would only get about $200 -$300 back after paying for return shipping and restocking fees.
This is part 2 in a series of video's documenting my attempts to bring this tractor back to life after having more than a tank of gasoline run though its diesel engine.
This video shows the head being installed and the lash being adjusted.
Music is from the youtube library artist is "Text Me Records Bobby Renz"

Ultimately the valves did need to be lapped in as the front and center cylinders valves were not sealing. After pulling the head back off lapping the valves in we still did not have good compression it’s likely that the piston rings have issues and or the cylinders are out of round.
