I have really long hair and my technique is just plopping the dye on and hoping for the best 😁
That’s me about 30+ minutes in. 🤣
me too!
Same ima try doing it better tonight 😂
So I am terrible at doing this type of stuff but I’m naturally blonde and I dye it black and I THOUGHT I was getting my entire head until I was recently at a family event and my mother asked me if I was growing it out lol 😂 I finally took a picture of the back and I couldn’t believe how much I had missed and definitely for a long time! No one ever said anything to me! So I typically use your technique too but it’s apparently not working. Ugh
Lmaoo aww
FINALLY a hair colouring video that doesn't quickly skip the hardest part! WELL DONE❣
a hand mirror. really. to hold with that third hand, i’d imagine. 🙄
and that hand mirror will magically stay clean and not get stained all over 😒😉
Or you could set the brush down, pick up the hand mirror & check out your work, then continue.. who needs 3 hands? 😂
Well, I'd imagine you could figure out how to put down the brush and pick up the mirror....
@@ylee3593 it's called washing...
Ah yes the hand mirror I definitely own
I need to learn this ... as I've gotten older I really learned that you can only really count on yourself
My hair is very long and I've had major anxiety about messing up but this video makes me feel like I may be ok to do this on my own... maybe. LOL! Thanks! 🙂
Going to prioritize with the back of my head from now on. Have been ditching the clips and rubbing the dye like shampoo lately until tonight, when I had a horrible discovery while I was using my hand-held mirror (which is a must) and was shocked with how much I have missed. Might also need to use two boxes of dye next time.
I now start from the back bottom and pre-section every mini section with duck bill clips. Makes it much quicker and I don’t have to struggle to make a perfect section while dying it.
Genius idea… Just about to do my hair, always struggle with accuracy at the back so I’m going to give it a go! Thanks very much😊
Yay! Good luck, you got this!
I want to try this… but I have a lot of hair.. not sure how to pin all the sections up before dying but this sounds like a great idea
You should make a video for us 🥰
Make a video showing how to section and divide slices by yourself.
I can't even section my own hair. I can barely brush it without making it worse.
This!!!!! This is all I am trying to learn and every video explains it by saying to just do it. Not revealing where the exact spot is on the top of your head or the exact spot on the side of your head. Acting like everybody is born with the ability to part their hair in the middle of their head perfectly every time without even using a mirror. GRRRRRR!!!! I’m not a girly girl somebody tell me the secret location near the ear.
Should have shown the finished look, for curiosity sake. 😉
Wow, a video that actually showed me what I needed 😭I'm lightening my hair at home and I've been struggling to actually get full coverage.
I dont have a problem coloring the back of my head when im applying one color. What im having trouble with is color melting or bleaching or highlighting pieces since i cant feel where one color ends and one begins. Tips on that?
The back of my head has always been tedious and very time consuming! No money to keep going to salons (they’re reopened where I live), no true friends, and one time, I tried to get hubby’s help, but even with gloves on, he got a noticeable allergic reaction.
I’ve always been starting from the top of the back of the head, but I think that next time, I will go from the bottom upwards, since you said that it’s more helpful for medium to long hair.
HI Dia Tribe, yes I agree, I'm going to start at the bottom of the back of my hair and just let the hair fall and move up one level. All the best to you, and good for you for doing what you feel you need to in order keep your hair the way you like it.
But my hair is so thick
This is a very handy and helpful tips to get a better result.
I'm quite surprised you have started with the front when all of the recommendations are to do the front last to avoid overly bright colour around the hairline and over absorption
Probably a good way to color front and side stubburn grays
Thank you this really Gave me a good idea at how to do it myself!
She's a good teacher!
Yes,she is,but it would be helpful to talk a little more slowly.
I have brown hair with grey roots and I want to go blonde. How do I do this and not have really bright roots and the rest normal blonde
What color hair dye is that it's so beautiful
i noticed that you would put the color on both the upperpart of the split and the lower part under the split. what if i am touching up an undercolor dye? how do i avoid getting lightener on my undyed hair?
If you buy Loreal Excellence creme hair color there is a comb looking thing with holes in them that you screw onto the bottle of color and it makes it much easier to do at home. Of course then you can't use esalon color but at least you get all your roots done.
But how do I apply the dye to only the grown out roots if I can only see the section before and after I color it?
why aren't the captions in english?
I’ve been a stylist for almost 9 years and I’m watching this because no one has time to do my roots at work 😂
If you're using blonde you must start applying from the roots first
Thank you for the advice
Had no choice. I got a standing mirror to put behind me and I angle it so I can see the reflection from anothrr mirror in front of me.
Thank you
My hair does NOT part. It’s where too long. I have yet to find a easy to make sure I’m doing it evenly.
slices or sections? you said slices so many times that im about to order me some Dominos Pizza lol!
ty!
I just went for it and we will see if my hair falls out 😭
Doing the same rn. Did it fall out?
She was talking too fast. The model’s hair was so dark, it was hard to see what she was coloring.
Yes,Janet, I agree with you.
What about shorter hair?

This is what I meant when I searched “how to color your own hair”
The background music did let hear the lady talk.😒
Thank u , u look like Katy Perry
This video really didn't tell us anything that we didn't already know. Not any new tips for getting this job done correctly. Just by feel?
This tutorial didn't help at all, and dear God the music! STAAAAP!!!
The music too loud and a little annoying and or the girl too low
I agree 100%
💯 I hate it when grown women do that false high baby voice too. 🙄
