Hmm. I never made knew the term “typhoon shelter” lobster used for a particular style of cooking lobster in Canadian Cantonese restaurants is derived from this crab dish. The typhoon shelter lobster dish has a few similarities, such as fried garlic and green pepper, but the differentiation is the use of fried needle fish (which I think is the main star) in the Canadian dish which has much less garlic. In my opinion, the HK typhoon shelter style is similar to the “蒜香” (garlic fragrant) style dishes found in American and Canadian Cantonese dishes.
What the price of the Mud Crab dish? That's a very salty (and spicy) dish. How can you eat all that without anything to balance it out (like white rice or vegetables)? LOL!
I just had it, goes so well on fried rice 😊
Waiters picking his nose in the background 1:30 😂
If you want the best experience of this, head to Shun Kee typhoon shelter. You get rowed out to a small boat, each with an individual table.
Can't wait to try Hee Kee next week. So so good
