I do receive compensation from some of these affiliates for referring you to them. That being said, I have a great relationship with each of these companies and I have worked with some of their competitors in the past...so there's a reason why these are the companies I recommend...they are the best. If for any reason you have a bad experience with them, please let me know because I take that feedback seriously. My business is your business, so I want (need) you to succeed. - Авто/Мото
Great content..im.in nj n. Everyone needs vin # first before giving a correct quote....I got a low # without vin...soon as vin 2019 rental insurance shot up....so I went thru northern insurance agency
You don't have to have a VIN number to get an accurate quote, however you do need the year, make, model, and weight class of the type of unit you are looking at renting. Agents often get the weight class wrong when quoting without a VIN. This can result in a large jump in price.
Thank you
You're welcome! Thank you for watching the channel!
New to this man your vids really help me just wanted to know if you have insurance for NY/NJ/PA area
NJ and PA yes. Not NY.
I wish I saw your video before I filed. I’m about to call for quotes today. Wish me look or send some advice.
You got this! You can fill out our quote form here: forhire.pro/TruckQuote
You should do Mississippi
I am working on getting new states setup as fast as possible. Stay tuned!
A suv over 5000lbs qualifys for commercial insurance, do you think its a good idea to get a commercial policy on a personal vehicle when applying for a a MC/DOT? The down-payment is alot lower, and I'm assuming when you get a box truck you can add the box to the policy, thus avoiding that 4-5k down-payment for insurance.
If you're talking about Progressive: using a lower weight class vehicle, starting with minimum limits to activate authority, etc. will "DEFER" a portion of the down payment. I hear about this from people quite often and most of the time they don't know about the other half of how this all works. If you're down payment would be $3k with all the coverages and the vehicle you will actually be using but you start the policy with whatever else to get a lower down payment and that amount ends up being, say, $1000...the other $2000 is added to the following bill if you swap the vehicle right away and increase the limits...plus the insurance company is not a fan of this...as in you might not keep your policy if they decide to cancel you....and if they are the only option for insurance....you don't have much of a trucking company anymore. Now there is another side of this...."cooking your DOT number." Many people start a policy as cheap as possible and don't start running right away, they wait 90 days so they can access more loads and brokers will be more willing to work with them....this is a totally different scenario. Learning all the in's and out's of insurance is endless when it comes to trucking, mainly because it's just complicated and there is a lot of red tape from all the regulatory stuff involved. Hope this helps!
I just submitted a quote on your site
Thanks!
I just did your step by step procedure with coverwallet and they couldn't give me a online quote. I have to call in to speak with an advisor.
I wonder if this was a system error or something? Did you call in and get the quote?
Could you tell me if Amazon relay requires workers compensation for myself. I don't have employees at the moment.
No, you don't need Worker's Compensation until you start hiring W-2 employees.
I'm coming up on 2 year anniversary of my authority currently with progressive I have 3 trucks was thinking of adding #4 but wow rate really jumped up. Will my rates go down after my 2 year anniversary?
There are several factors that determine wether a rate goes up or down at renewal. Shoot me an email at daniel@charlesstring.com or schedule a call and we can discuss your situation. forhire.pro/call
How strict do they observe the drivers in a business like this as far as hours go? I'm a workaholic and drive over 80hrs a week as is. 100hrs/week is no big deal but I know there are restrictions. Any input on that type of scenario?
Extremely strict. Do not mess up your hours of service.
do you have any advice on how to complete the Drive Qualification File? I am a non cdl driver. Thanks
I would use a third party service for the DQF.
What a bummer not seeing Florida on that list!! I was so stoked to work with you and was hoping you could be my insurance guy, we have very similar styles and I love how thorough you are. Do you personally recommend anyone out of Florida that I can work with?
Im applying for authority the day after tomorrow. Thanks in advance!
Unfortunately i don't have anyone to refer you to in Florida. Hoping to expand to include Florida soon. Stay tuned!
I was going through the process of starting a box truck business and it says I don’t need a UCR in the state of Florida. I was wondering if you have any info on this considering your also located in Florida
@@TruckInsurance Do you have any agent in TN?
What if your current address is not the same as your license,? If you've relocated? But have a mailing address
Literally killed the idea of starting one. 35k a year with 17k down was just too much
Question: Do I need to file MC150 as a new authority owner?!
Thank you
The MCS-150 is used to make changes to your authority
My Dilemma is before I start a commercial quote, I'm Active duty Army I am stationed out of Kentucky now my drivers license is out of Michigan my LLC Address is Kentucky I own my 2autos registered out of SC with SC insurance .... in your video you did mention if addresses doesn't add or match it can cause a delay..... where in your opinion should I get a quote for and establish my commercial policy..
What I would do is get a Kentucky drivers license since your LLC is registered in Kentucky. Then apply for your authority in Kentucky as well. Finally, get an insurance policy in Kentucky as well. You want everything to line up. Thanks!
@@TruckInsurance Is it necessary to have a driver's license in the same state, as your llc, I plan on setting up my llc in NV, but plan on hiring driver from CA?
Hello. If I do local/INTRAstate trucking, will insurance be higher, lower, or about the same as otr? Thank you
It will more than likely be cheaper.
If i rent with Ryder, do I only need cargo insurance, since they force you to buy their insurance? IF so how would that work when i submit the documents to the FMCSA?
No, you have to buy their insurance on top of the insurance required by the FMCSA. Ryder's insurance is not sufficient for the FMCSA.
HOW MUCH WOULD YOU CHARGE TO MENTOR ON STARTING A BOX TRUCK COMPANY WITH RENTAL
How much do clones cost? I'm a little limited on time these days and I don't have a course or anything structured for mentoring so there's no way I would charge for that plus I don't really like the idea of charging for mentoring. I just kind of do ongoing consulting with clients and I'm open to people's questions as long as you email me or schedule a call: forhire.pro/call or daniel@charlesstring.com
Are you writting in AZ yet?? If not, do you have any referrals?
Not currently writing in AZ, email me at daniel@charlesstring.com and we can go from there.
Hey quick question im active under my authority and have a cargo van under my commercial insurance I did the hack to get a low down payment to go active but I am thinking about going the box truck rental route instead of cargo van I wanted to know exactly how can I book loads with a box truck rental that's not under my insurance policy ? Do I use the rental insurance and up my cargo insurance to 100k and my auto liability to a million under my cargo van policy when applying under carrier packets with new brokers? or do I just rent out the box truck add that vin under my insurance and apply as a carrier under different brokers under that vin with 1 million auto liability and 100k cargo and in my city of the state of Texas they do not require commercial general liability of 1 million I have to buy that separately lost this is the only thing stopping me from getting on the Road I have just been paying my commercial insurance for a van I am not using to stay active? What do I do ?

Hi I am getting an error message when trying to sign onto your page for an insurance quote. I'm in NC as I know you are.
Hello, my apologies for the late reply here. We’re you able to get the quote request submitted?
Hello,
I used Cover Wallet and your website. Cover Wallet is stating that they cannot give me a quote online, that I would have to call? Is this normal?
Hello, no that is not normal. Fill out our quote form here: forhire.pro/TruckQuote
Hi there can I get comercial insurance for 3 month only paid in full?? Please let me know
No, commercial policies are 12 months. There is a pay in full option that does get you a discount though.
Do we still have to pay insurance when we don't have a rental?
You have to keep your auto liability with at least the FMCSA required limit, normally $750K for box trucks. You don't have to keep all the other coverages when you don't have a truck or are not running. So you can save a good bit by just updating the policy whenever you aren't operating.
Ok so I’m tryna start up a box truck business. So I plan on renting a truck for 6 days starting out. I plan on getting insurance as well because I’m only renting for 6 days with Progressive would I need to change my insurance when I get a new box truck when the 6 days over & get a new truck ??
Hello, yes you would need to make sure your agent keeps the truck updated each time you change it.
What state are you in? I want to do the same thing and wondering if I will make any money taking loads from load boards in CA.
Hey quick question I don’t have license I’m hiring drivers… Is this possible?
Yes, you do not need one unless you plan to drive.
Hey Daniel, I set up the account with Shane and somehow I’m not in the system when I tried to get a truck and Shane is M.I.A called and emailed him dozens of times and nothing
Yea Budget has been doing furloughs and having some trouble. I had to stop referring people for account setups because they were going nowhere and never receiving any response. Hopefully Budget will get back up to speed here soon.
How can I get insurance for a box rental that I don’t have yet. Everyone is asking for a vin
Send me an email at daniel@charlesstring.com or schedule a call here forhire.pro/call and we can go over it with you!
Quoted 8,758.25 a month 😳 credit is high 700’s across the board so idk maybe I did something wrong 😂 in Florida btw
Yea something went wrong there. Definitely shouldn't be that high. Florida is generally pretty high but that's insane.
@@TruckInsurance I don’t know what I did wrong but that’s crazy
If any of you are going the rental route here is what is not being told and on what Enterprise told me today... I was told that to start an account with them I would have to get insurance first also down payment through Mr. Stringers people I have to put 4800 dollars down and pay 2700 a Month and with that being said I would not get a rental until probably April or May so I would be paying 2700 for a box truck that I am not guaranteed to get from the rental company and this is not what's being told but call Enterprise and see if I'm lying
All of the rental companies can be difficult in one way or another. Enterprise is often more expensive too. Check out our Ryder and Budget contacts: forhire.pro/Ryder and forhire.pro/Budget. You definitely don't have to pay for your insurance for that long before getting a truck. We normally try to start the policy within a week of a rental reservation, that way the authority can go active, you can apply to Relay if you want, etc. before actually getting the truck. We also have the option to start the policy with lower limits and go that route too. I hope this helps!
Can you do this with U-Haul also?
No, the deck's on a U-Haul are not high enough.
Is the freight on a pallet?
In most cases yes.
What if I just work from my truck but I live at home and my truck is not parked near my home but in a parking lot.
That would be your garaging address. It just needs to be specified.
@@TruckInsurance what i mean is i wont need general liability then since it for a commercial area no?
My insurance is asking me for truck registration OR some agreement with rental company. I am trying to get mt dot active and set account with amazon but i don't have rental truck yet. What should I do ??
Who's your insurance company and what state are you in?
@@TruckInsurance I am in California
@@Mike-kg3hd Most insurance companies require you to have the vehicle registered to your company or have a written lease agreement for a term of at least 6 months. Underwriters request registration and lease documents for verification, either before you start the policy or after(which sucks because you can’t get your down payment back if they disqualify you, your agent might refund you out of their own pocket if you fight hard enough but that’s illegal in most states). You’ll hear about other people with the same insurance company not having issues with renting because the underwriters miss things pretty often, so those people have either falsified documents and/or essentially fallen through the gaping cracks of the archaic truck insurance industry. You always want a good agent that watches out for these scenarios and helps guide you around all the stipulations. Problem is most good agents only want to work with big fleets. Try to get a copy of your rental agreement/contract and see if they will accept that.
My goal is to do Amazon relay. I got an insurance quote for 5k down 2.5k a month. Is that a good deal? Will i make enough money to pay that ? Any insurance companies with cheaper quotes. ?

I already got a quote from PROGRESSIVE...
Was it reasonable?
@@ladycarpro9110 thought it was manageable until I got another quote lol much cheaper..I think CharlesString uses Progressive to get quotes...
Yep, for renting a truck to get started, Progressive is really the only decent option. You might have a wholesale market that will cover rented trucks but the endorsements and billing is a nightmare, normally ends badly, so I stick to Progressive. Plus, as long as your credit and driving record are good, Progressive will come in cheaper than any other options, if there are any!
