Great video and test as always Sean. Thanks for the shout-out🙏. Guess the thighter bore from HD-24 make the slugs drag more. However both barrels works fine. Good test 😃👍
I'm looking a few barrels for the M17 with HD24 air chamber - probably for Julv2s coz I have hundreds of the things. Looking at the 14" Lion Claw 687 and the 14" 684 Lapco Bigshot Assault (and a few others). Have you ever tried taping up the ports on the Lapco and measuring the difference in fps? What do you think about the impact of the porting? I don't want or need the porting but not sure how much effect it really has.
I saw 1-2fps increase taping the ports. Not worth the ugly look 😂 I would measure you Juls. Mine are 0.683 - 0.6835 so the Lapco 0.684 is superior but only if they fit.
@@lesslethalfordummies I figured you'd have already tried it :) Thank you. When you tried that taping, was it with the increased air volume of the HD24 adapter? With paintball porting after 8 inches or so doesn't seem to slow balls down but I wondered with the massively increased volume of air going down the barrel how much further the porting would need to be down the barrel . Thanks again Sean for letting me pick your rain
@@NinjaKneei never tried taping the ports on the 14” with the HD core. Only tested the tape on the 14 with a drilled factory heatcore. I did try on an 8” Lapco and the gains were minimal at best.
how am i going to get you to lube the barrel? i know you don't like dust but i think you have static attracting dust anyway. you don't have to make it greasy. just a treetment. the teflon in super lube will leave a coating. you won't even know it's there.
@@lesslethalfordummies True, and there will be varying variables between each person doing the test. Like mods, air pressure etc. But the plan wasn't to do it like a mathematical equation, that is not really do-able. More like observations, including what it visibly looks like with light passing by the projectile inside the barrel. FPS can give a good idea when comparing the same setup with FPS from a different projectile, so you know which fits better than another one. The main reason was so that new guys (myself included) don't randomly waste money on barrels they thought had the perfect dimensions for their ammo, because they were just reading the measurements of inner diameter from the manufacturer. Like we talked about, it can be way off. So to have some kind of overview between barrels and projectiles is a good start i think. And take all the advice from your channel and other testers, and put it into a document for quick overview, just to givr some kind of rough idea. Hate wasting money 😅 Already an expensive hobby.
Care to elaborate? Hp68 were the most reliable shaped projectiles I have yet to encounter. Its a shame they were discontinued but they have a new one coming.
@lesslethalfordummies They charge $550 for a valken M17 without any modifications done to it. That's a $300 marker. They charge $550 for a FSC pistol - no modifications. Another $300 marker. The one time I did purchase 68 cal projectiles, each round either jammed or was followed by a jam.
Well they are a small company and not a high volume dealer. Sometimes we pay for customer service. There are many out there not comfortable setting up a launcher and prefer this type of transaction from a brick and mortar shop.

They were both on the tight side. 60j is probably still more than most need. I am going to try 500psi.

@@lesslethalfordummies Great stuff, thanks man. The Lapco sounds like it could be the one - I'll go measure my balls and see where I'm at.
1911 grip adapter? Goverment or officer size? thx
All i can say is it is a 1911 grip. Didnt know there may be other specs to it.

Will you be planning to use a stronger feed spring in the Zeta's? if so which will you be using?
I think I will. The springs are still new and working good but i suspect they will weaken.
🔥
Hi Sean, where did you get the magazine?
The zeta mags i bought from MCS.
Is that the smg mag well?@@lesslethalfordummies

This barrel was oil soaked. No squeegee this time. I think there are better barrel bores for the HP68.
I save those rounds exclusively for my HDR 68
I heard they work gooder in the Hdr.
Dang, beat me to it. Well, wasn't going to use that ammo, but still, lol😂😂😂😂
Always room for more. I like multiple test samples.
Pls chime in! I'm thinking of collecting data from matches between different barrels and projectiles and putting it into an excel doc.
Data is only as good as shooter recording it. Lots of factors at play that can skew the results.

Joules* rather when comparing effeciency between projectiles, not FPS, ofc
Grimburg is highly overrated & over charge on everything.
Best to research & do the work yourself -
