I bought your Hippo pattern to help me learn how to read a pattern along with your video. I am really struggling following this crochet video for the Hippo. I have made your dinosaur with just your tutorial and it turned out really cute. Thank you! This tutorial video is hard to get through and the pattern is not helping. It might be helpful if could explain as if you were reading your own pattern and what your are doing as you crochet at the same time. I’m sorry I find your video difficult to follow. I really liked doing the dinosaur so I thought I could do this Hippo too. But I haven’t even got past the top of the head 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Hello, I am glad you wrote me. I am sorry for the video. It can be confusing for someone. If you bought the written pattern follow just the written pattern. I always make first the video and then the written pattern. The written pattern is made to make sense. I mean count of stitches, it’s centered etc. If I make any new project I make everything how I feel it so I do not need count of stitches etc. If I need to get any shape of animal I just do it. Maybe the written pattern seems little different on the beginning but it is not. It’s exactly the same hippo what I made in video 😉 I just wrote it to make sense. If you will need help let me know. I hope you will enjoy the crocheting of hippo. I am glad you made the dinosaur with me ❤️

I think it will help to have stich count. Rather than saying sc to the other side, which is confusing, have the actual count will help. I m sorry I gave up half way through ciz I'm also very confused 😢

This is a terrible tutorial don’t feel bad - I think it’s designed to make you feel like you have to buy the pattern. I’m dyslexic and I only follow tutorials. Everything I’ve made is from tutorials and I couldn’t follow this either - it’s infuriatingly unclear

I agree. I am having the hardest time with round 3! I cannot seem to get the stitches to come out right even though I have slowed the video down, watched closely, and counted the number of stitches she makes. Also, placement of the first stitch of each round...is it in the same stitch as the one she just slip stitched into? If so, why no chain stitch to start the round at the correct height?

Thanks for such a wonderful tutoria.
    2 sugestions:
    1) indicate the round no for each row.
    3) total number of stitches in each row.
Where can I find your written pattern if any.

I got lost on the 3rd round. (increase, 1 sc in next 2 st, increase, 1sc in next 2 st. increase)
then do you do 4 sc in next 4 stitches?

I end up with three stitches left after the 4sc on the second side, but according to the tutorial, there should just be one stitch left in which there should be a sc increas worked. No matter what I do, I can't figure out how to get the number of stitches to come out right :(

I understand you have a written pattern but I feel this video is purposefully frustrating and difficult to follow 🙁

Hello, no I am still learning how to make videos the best to follow. Now I explain everything better. This video is older.

@@tommyssheep I understand. Hopefully you'll come back and do a follow along video for this pattern. Your crochet design is quite pretty

Your instructions here do not match your written pattern so it makes it really hard to follow along on parts your struggling with on written pattern

Hello, follow only the written pattern. You can watch videos to know how to embroider or how to sew individual parts together. The written pattern is centered.
