Finally got my MR920 elite outta layaway and put the first 500 rounds thru it, I’m impressed . It shoots very nice. Shoots very flat and easy to get back on target, the grip stippling is perfect and the sights are fantastic. Tried the different grips and the medium one works best for me. Almost took off my 407C off my fn 509c but I decided to order the 507C with ACSS reticle.
Everytime you make a video I can just imagine the amount of times y’all explain it. Now that you have made a second video I’m really starting to worry about mankind in general..
Would like to see a video of breaking down the gun for cleaning and maintenance. I know people have made glock videos but I think it would be nice to see a breakdown from the manufacturer.
Ok, so I just installed a 508Tx2 on an XR920 and I remembered watching this video a couple of months back and remembering it should feel snug. Mine isn't snug at all, it's not loose but it definitely isn't "wedging" itself between the optic and the rear of the slide when I put the optic in place. I can easily move the optic around when it's placed on the slide. The spacer doesn't move or rattle either when the optic is mounted, so I'm hoping the screws will be enough to hold it in place. Any chance the tolerances are different on the 508T because it's made out of Titanium? Would like to get an updated spacer if it eventually becomes available 🤞
Hey! It’s true that Holosun tolerances do seem to vary more than other brands. At the same time, the spacer doesn’t need to be smashed, just not loose. The idea is just to take the spacing to zero, so unless something feels like it wiggles, you should be good to go. Be sure you follow the steps on the Loctite. Let us know if there are issues in the future. Trevor
How do you tell which spacer is which? Have a CR920 and the table shows a plus sign is needed to mount a Holosun, and the other spacer is identified by a plus sign inside a circle but the spacers are almost identical . One spacer has a plus sing inside a depressed circle on the bottom of it and the other one just has the depressed circle molded into the bottom of it. I assume the one without the plus sign is the one needed for mounting the Holosun
I have a trijicon sro on my mr918 could screw size be making mine not be able to rack the slide and the cartridge eject? It will shoot and eject but can't rack one through it it will hold onto the shell
What's the best way to clean the screws of thread locker during annual battery changes? I've had a hell of a time removing thread locker to reuse screws.
Should flake off pretty easily if you use the Loctite 243 that we recommend. Worst case, you can lightly brush the threaded section with a wire brush. Trevor
Locktite works pretty well as its own solvent. Put some fresh locktite on a bit more generously than you normally would, let is sit for a bit and then give it a hard wipe off, by unscrewing the screw inside a tightly held shop towel. Another good technique is to torch it off with heat, and then do the same unscrewing routine. Then re-apply the loctite in the usual way.
So I know this video is older, so you guys might not be monitoring it, but if you are, do the larger guns accept a RMSc footprint? Want a XR920P and a Holosun EPS
We do not have any guns that fit RMSc. This optic kit is for the EPS and EPSC. It still direct mounts to the slide and co-witnesses with factory iron sights. shadowsystemscorp.com/product/mr-dr-xr-eps-k-spacer-kit/
Unless you bought our Acro-direct cut version, that optic will not fit. The chart for what optics work with the multi-footprint optic cut can be found here: shadowsystemscorp.com/opticcut/
Hey what happened to 6/14’s Technical Tuesday?!? 🤣🤣 … on an unrelated note just had a great experience w/the orders department resolving a recent purchase of the blacked out optic. I didn’t catch her name but wanted to shout out the department/excellent service received.
Went to install RMR using the correct screws. The screws both grab fine in one hole but neither locks down on the other. Is the threading bad in one of the holes, or could it be something else? Never fired the gun, so concerned the threads are defective in the slide. Please help!
Please email my technical team at support@shadowsystemscorp.com. For the fastest resolution, please include a description of the issue, a photo into the hole that is giving you issue, your serial number and mailing address.
On the guide for the MR920 it says there is no spacer available for the Holosun 507k...does it not need it or is there going to be a gap? I could not find a video of the 507k on an MR920. Thanks in advance for any help!
I have the same question. I have a 507k that I transferred from my Hellcat Pro to my DR920. I have gaps in front and behind. Curious if the screws will shear off since no additional support in front or behind
Question, in the manual it states you don't have to install in the red dot specific wedge? My thought is there's a gap now between the body of the red dot and slide whether it's at the front or the rear of the red dot. Is this ok or not? Asking for a friend since his pistol didn't come with the specific wedge he wants to mount his red dot
Hey! Good question. For any hard use, we always recommend using the spacer. They are available on our website if needed. You can mount the optic with screws only if the locking compound is properly used but it will not be as resistant to twisting force. I’d get the spacer, if possible. Trevor
@@ShadowSystemsCorp Thank you and yes I ordered the proper wedge for the red dot I'm going to run it was something I read in the manual and thought it was interesting.
No, the smaller size of the pistol would not accommodate the RMR. You can find the chart of optics that fit that model on this page about half way down: shadowsystemscorp.com/opticcut/
I have the same exact set up but there’s some obvious space in front of the optic so it didn’t snap in like that. Is that normal? Using correct spacer and screws.
The main concern is that the sight is tight between the screws and the spacer. A little big of space on the opposite technically would not matter. Trevor
Hey Trevor, just picked up a CR290 and was seeing if you have a recommendation on what Holosun optic would be best? Was looking at the SCS but they don't have one out for the CR290 yet, so seeing which one you'd recommend that would fit flush.
Hey Trevor! I just got a CR920. While installing the optics, I found the smaller screw (the one that comes with the cover plate from factory) the best fit. Is any problem with that? Thanks!! And congrats for the awesome guns! God bless TEXAS! Tony
Can you make a video on how to install a Holosun 509T with the plate that comes with it or an after market plate that we are not aware of yet. Please and Thank you .
You will have to wait for them to release the proper screws to attach the 509T plate. DO NOT use the screws that came with the 509T, the are the wrong diameter and will sheer off. You will potentially get hit in the face by your own red dot… ask me how I know. Per the rep at Shadow Systems they are working on releasing the proper screws to use.

Ive been waiting for this for years. Unfortunately they still have not made screws for the 509T which is quite surprising since its now a popular optic. I got rid of my Shadow Systems because of this reason. Now Holosun is making an enclosed emitter optic (EPS) that may work with Shadow's cut now.
It has been brought to my attention after following up, that Shadow Systems in fact will not be producing any screws for the plate but instead will direct you to a set available from Brownells.

Just making sure, we aren’t taking credit for something that someone else did lol… just had to give you guys a hard time for not offering your comp/barrel combo from CR920 by itself!? Lol
For LOCTITE, they say on their site for small screws apply to threads inside hole for screw then insert screw but if using a screw with a nut on end then add to screw itself that way you’re not drenching the project in Loctite!
With the new EPS coming out, will Shadow Systems be working on a spacer for a 407k footprint? Is this even a good option? I don’t know. I’m very new to the pistol optic game.
@@ShadowSystemsCorp sorry I worded that poorly. It’s my understanding the EPS will be using the 407k footprint. I’m wondering if the DR/MR/XR will have a spacer to fill the gap that I assume will exist for the EPS optic.
My DR920E spacers did not fit the Trijicon at all. One was clearly too small, the other I had to sand about 1/32" off to get a very tight fit. There's no way it would have fit without sanding it down.
