A few years ago, handicrafts were abandoned and devalued as a professional area. Its importance is not limited to the preservation of ancient crafts; on the contrary, it is the preservation of ancestral techniques made with the skill of the hand that, with creativity and innovation, add value to the most diverse sectors. It is this innovative vision that guides us in this episode in search of the stories of new artisans whose change of life is made up of passion, but also with the development of skills of excellence in the only public training center responsible for the transmission of knowledge and training that joins tradition and innovation in Crafts and Heritage in Portugal. Fátima Lopes will get to know the new reality of the handicraft sector with the entrepreneurial story of Juliana Leitão Marcondes, who, after graduating from CEARTE, now has her own ceramics studio where she passes on this knowledge with great passion. Coimbra has the charm of ceramics and other arts, which we will learn about from Paulo Teles Marques, director of CEARTE. On a visit to the center located in the Monastery of Santa Maria de Semide, we learn about the beauty of restoration and conservation of sacred art through the life story of Germana Sofia Vale Rodrigues, once a language teacher, now a professional with her hands full restoring valuable pieces of our material heritage.

O meu avô tinha uma fábrica de barros nos Olivais . Na altura só se cozinhava com carvão . Acho lindo
