Different strokes for different folks, I guess. There's a certain kind of mindset of people who enjoy adrenaline rushes when they get scared. I am not one of those people. I don't like heights, roller coasters that drop you down quickly, or horror movies. I watched this movie because of the dark mystery and figuring out what happened, but I'm still not a fan of the creepy stuff and jump scares.
after i saw the japanese version in high school, i slept with the tv for 2 years. irrational, but it was the only way i wouldn't have nightmares

The Ring was one of the first horror movies I watched. (The first being It.) I do prefer the 1998 Japanese version, myself.
