[one comment on this excellent looking pack:] 15:40 When the two buckles are opened (to get to the main compartment) they 'fall away' to the floor/ground - which is not so practical; a small loop could have kept them within reach. 16:44 "the lid doesn't 'float'..." which is a good thing because it can't shift and sag and adds to the stability of the pack.
Every time a Trekkit video pops up in my feed, I’m there. You guys make me feel excited about getting back out into nature again. I have a question if I may.. would this be suitable for a 180cm tall woman? I have a longer than average torso, so packs designed for women don’t quite reach my hips and this looks like a great one to try out! Thanks for any suggestions! Eve
Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad our enthusiasm comes across on video! The suggested back length for the mens/unisex model in this video is 48 to 53cm. You can measure your back length by following the instructions in this video (I think the back length part comes in around 01:30). Harry ruclips.net/video/Sl1yJakKp-4/видео.html
Hi Paul, good review as usual! Really like your videos. My question is which backpack better osprey talon 33 or Low Alpine collapse 32? Which one you recommend? Thanks for your recommendation ! Robert
Very different packs - the Talon is light, packable and ideal for moving a little faster, whereas the Cholatse is more supportive and stable, making it more suitable for walking/backpacking or when carrying more weight. I personally prefer the Cholatse, but that's only because I carry a load of heavy camera kit. Harry
@@trekitt Interesting. I'm looking for a backback to carry camera gear AND walking gear. I use LowePro backpacks which are great for the camera but not so good for clothes etc. I feel a trip to your shop coming on. I'd need to strap the tripod to one side (with water bottle counter balance). The 42-47 looks good for night outs.
@@trekitt Thanks very much for looking into it! I did wonder because I'd read they only using PFC free fabric now so that explains why they're not advertising it as such. Cheers for that.
Hello. Does hip fins in bigger womens' versions (40-45l and 50-55l) follow body movements like in Deuter ACT's Vari-flex system? And second question, does the total volume include the front pocket? Thank you.
Just joined your channel really informative. I’m looking for pack mainly day hiking, that I can cart a camera insert bag and essentials for a day hike. 26-30 L size. I sometimes need to carry a tripod. The camera specific bags don’t look comfortable. Any help would be appreciated 😊
I searched for a long time before settling on the Fjallraven Abisko Friluft 35. It's wide enough for most camera inserts, has an internal frame that allows you to stash a tripod on the side without the bag flopping over like some lighter alternatives, and, most importantly, the entire front of the bag can be unzipped to fully access all your camera/hiking kit. There are few better options, in my opinion. www.trekitt.co.uk/rucksacks/technical-packs/fjallraven-abisko-friluft-35-stone-grey__33331
Hi, it's more related to your back length rather than your overall height. I'd recommend measuring your back length (using this guide: ruclips.net/video/Sl1yJakKp-4/видео.html ). The Cholatse fits those with a 48-53cm back length.
You could have cut 15 minutes off the video, have it be complete, and still add what the configuration of the frame is. Straight stays, U shape, etc, but I do (sincerely) thank you for taking the time to make the review. I do know why more manufacturers don't make videos to showcase their products
Awesome video, missed your backpack reviews in the last few months, keep it coming ;)
Cheers Simon, more to come soon hopefully. Harry

Most in-depth pack review on RUclips !! They should all be this detailed. Well done 👍
Thank you, we'll keep doing what we're doing! Harry

How does this compare with the Talon 33 for a family daypack while out hiking?
Talon is lighter and more packable but the Cholatse is far more supportive and will cope with heavier loads better. Harry
Thanks for another invaluable video! Do you happen to know whether it's PFC free or not?
The fabric itself is PFC free but some of the components may not be. Unfortunately that's about as accurate an answer as I've been able to get! Harry

Where do you keep laptop...any suggestions? Thx!
There's not really a specific place for it being a trekking pack; you'd just have to pop it in a case and have it in the main compartment.

I'm afraid I don't know the answer to either of those questions, sorry! It might be worth dropping Lowe Alpine a line as they should know. Harry

Whats the difference between this and the Altus 32 please? They look very similar.
As far as I'm aware, the Altus 32 isn't being produced anymore. Chances are this has replaced it. Harry
Hey would this fit a guy who’s 6ft 1 tall? Thinking of ordering one

Is this backpack for summer hikes? Another great review!!!
Summer, winter or autumn, it can cope with year-round use. Thanks for watching. Paul.
Lowe Alpine arizone+ 45-55L OR Lowe Alpine Cholatse 52-57?
Airzone as a great all-rounder, Cholatse as a trekking-focused pack.

You should have blown the whistle
Harry gets all sniffy if the sound levels spike, but I was tempted! Thanks for watching. Paul
