That was a great technical description by a man who understands the products he’s selling.. love it! ❤ …especially the moment when he had the rucksack stuck on his head! …easy mistake mate, we’ve all done it, lost a lot of mates over cliffs that way. Very sad 😢😂
Paul, Thank you. Another excellent informative video. Just got the 55; it has an additional external size for main body access and a removable divider inside. Great for my week long trips. Thank you again; excellent channel.
I got myself an Osprey Manta 34 last week and I have to say that the "stow-on-the-go" feature genuinely surprised me in terms of how much I like it. Looking at the marketing pictures I always though it looked uncomfortable to have your poles there so I expected to not make use of it, but I at least gave it a try and they're not in the way at all.
Thanks for making such a great VDO with load of information. Your narrative skill is fascinating. I find your channel more useful than the pack manufacturers’ sites. It has helped me made right purchasing decision. (Your fan from Thailand)
weight is one the older ones was about 250 grams lighter, they are using recycled material which is probably inferior and cheaper to make but increased the price and the weight is considerably heavier lol. Bum deal I'd say
14:44 One of the reasons I bought this pack, was because of this feature, but it doesn't work like you describe it. When I tighten the hip belt, it only tighten the front of my hip, it doesn't pull anything towards me. I literally tried it out 1 min ago and payed attention to it.
I have purchased this backpack based on positive reviews like this, and reviews about the old model which is almos 400 grams lighter. This is by no means a lightweight pack at almos 1500 grams for a 44 liters pack. Why anybody is saying out loud that the new talons are not same as the old ones at almost 40% more weight??????
It's not an item we stock so I can't tell you how it's different in practice, but it seems to have a more substantial backsystem and a tougher selection of fabrics. Harry
Nice video, but i have not seen any mention related to the weight and the fact that it increased by about 30% over the older series (at least for Talon 44). Do you have a scale to measure and compare between old and new ?
I'm afraid we don't have any of the old Talons left. According to some old reviews, the previous generation weighed 1105g vs the new one's 1340g. Harry
I had a chance to try the 33liter talon and i really like it. Unfortunately my torso is 1-2 inches too long for this pack. I know it's not as important to have a perfect fit for this size pack but is there a similar pack (feature-wise) you can recommend that does adjust to at least 24 inches? Thanks guys, great reviews!
I'm afraid most packs stop at 21/22". I've had a look through our range and currently can't find anything longer. Might be a good idea to visit us (if you're near) or your local specialist to have a proper pack fitting. It's much easier in person when you're at the top or bottom end of the measurements.
Paul, thanks for great review! unfortunately I cannot try on in the store in my country. Can you give some advice, please. Which size will be better for 2 nights for a regular trip and sometimes for a few more or around week? Will 44l be a compromise variant for light-weight stuff with tent? Or 44 my be to big for my regular light-weight 2 nights trip? Thanks!
Hey Mark, it's all about the torso length and not the capacity of the pack. Your own personal kit will determine the capacity, your torso length will determine the size required. Check out this helpful video - ruclips.net/video/Sl1yJakKp-4/видео.html
I have a Stratos 50 for long day hikes, unbelievable pack!!! An now i want to byu a 30 liter for smaller hike. I am between the Talon 33 and the Deuter Futura 30. What is your opinion? Excellent review as always 👍!!!
They used to be S/M or M/L but this new one is available in S/M and L/XL. I did buy one of these in L/XL thinking it is the new M/L but I measured it up against my old osprey talon 33 in size M/L and the L/XL is not bigger but not available in M/L size. Would you recommend I go S/M in this one then?
Hi Gavin, you'll need to measure your back length and compare against the measurements below. We have a video on how to do this here: ruclips.net/video/Sl1yJakKp-4/видео.html Fit range (S/M): 43-51cm Fit range (L/XL): 48-56cm
Hello, I am interested in the backpack Talon 33, 44. My back length is 47 cm. what size would you recommend ? in the video, like the size of the back of the backpack L/XL?
It depends on your back length. Here are the measurements: Fit range (S/M): 43-51cm Fit range (L/XL): 48-56cm And here's a video about how to fit your pack, with how to measure your back length about half way through: ruclips.net/video/Sl1yJakKp-4/видео.html
Hardly a design "flaw". The Talon range offers a variety of closures and pockets and roll-tops are usually reserved for a more waterproof construction. Thanks for watching.
The best reviews on youtube! No BS good solid overviews without fancy locations, music or props. Well done great work!
Wow, thanks! Paul.

Greta choice, I've just got myself the new 26, the new Talon packs are brilliant. Thanks for watching. Paul
Is Talon 55 suitable for hand luggage when traveling by air?
Wait so it HAS a removable divider?!
Thx D S👍
Kudos on the detail of your overview. Best I’ve seen 👏

Every day is a school day, I too am a big fan of that feature. Thanks for watching. Paul.
I miss that feature after switching to an “ultralight” set up. When thru-hiking it was super useful for road walks.
I’ve been using the Talon 33 for years. Amazing pack!
You knows it! Thanks for watching. Paul.
I have the new 33. It’s the perfect day pack for me. Absolutely brilliant.
Good choice!

Great review.
Appreciate it.
And THIS is a product review! Excellent informative video.
Thank you 🙌
Really good video, what are the main differences between the new and previous generation of Talons?
All explained in the video....new backsystem and recycled fabrics! Paul.

¡La review es estupenda, muchas gracias!
have always been a fan of trekitt since day 1! very nice studio! :))
Awesome! Thank you!
This was super informative! Thank you very much for making this video!
You're welcome, glad you liked it!
Why didn't you mention the side entry feature? Really good selling point.
Great video,keep it up!🏴
Thanks! 😃
Great video, really very clear and well presented. 👍

What is the comfortable maximum load weight for this backpack 44 and 55 ? So that the shoulder straps do not crush.
Osprey recommend no more than 11kg for the 44 and 16kg for the 55. Harry
What is the difference between the Talon 30 Pro? In addition to the helmet mount ...
It's not an item we stock so I can't tell you how it's different in practice, but it seems to have a more substantial backsystem and a tougher selection of fabrics. Harry
Is the piping on the shoulder straps of the navy blue talon grey or is a lighter blue? Is it the same color as the grey buckles or different?
Did the Osprey replaced the Stratos 50 by the Stratos 44 variant? Because on their offical website the 50L variant does not exist anymore.
Yup, 44 is the new version.

Try both on if you can. That'll be the deciding factor!
The shoulder straps are thinly padded. Do the shoulder straps put pressure on your shoulders if you carry more than 5-7 kg?
Not particularly. I personally prefer wider but thinner shoulder straps as they distribute the weight of the pack more evenly. Harry
@@trekitt are they wider on This?
Thanks
No problem! Harry
Like the Talon 55 but not available in USA. How do I get one? I want one of these frightened monkeys :)
Fly to UK, take a train to Hereford, make an appointment at our Service Centre and that bad boy can be yours! Thanks for watching. Paul.
Hello, I’m hesitating between heel 55 and stratos 50 , which is the most comfortable?
Thank you
We only stock the Stratos, meaning that's the only one we've tried. Therefore we may be a bit biased!
They used to be S/M or M/L but this new one is available in S/M and L/XL. I did buy one of these in L/XL thinking it is the new M/L but I measured it up against my old osprey talon 33 in size M/L and the L/XL is not bigger but not available in M/L size. Hello, I am interested in the backpack Talon 33, 44. My back length is 47 cm. what size would you recommend ? in the video, like the size of the back of the backpack L/XL?

You'll be S/M
@@trekitt in the video, does Paul use the L/xl size?
@@steptoorew No, S/M. He has a short back length relative to his height.
@@trekitt and I look at the ribs on the molded back, I noticed that L/ XL has 8 ribs, as in the video
Hy ! I want to buy a talon 36 backpack. I am 182 cm tall. What size is need for me ? s/m or l/xl . Thank you in advance for your reply.
It depends on your back length. Here are the measurements:
Fit range (S/M): 43-51cm
Fit range (L/XL): 48-56cm
And here's a video about how to fit your pack, with how to measure your back length about half way through: ruclips.net/video/Sl1yJakKp-4/видео.html
@@trekitt I am 51 cm ...so in my case, it all matters which one I choose .
Does the talon 36 come with wired frame? Thanks
No wired frame-it has a stiffened framesheet instead.
Is talon 44 can be used as a carryon specific luggage on a plane?
That all depends on the specific airline's regulations, always check before travelling.
Unlikely. Too long.
Definitely no on Ryanair
maximum load weight for osprey 33 is?
8kg
🤣 great video. Love the Osprey
Thanks 👍
Wait... theres a Talon 55 now?
There is!
@@trekitt i think only in the UK? Here in the US there is no listing for the 55 on Osprey’s website. 😞
2basic design flaws. Ditch the top lid and use a roll top system and ditch the bottom zip.
Hardly a design "flaw". The Talon range offers a variety of closures and pockets and roll-tops are usually reserved for a more waterproof construction. Thanks for watching.
For the money you spend on an osprey which aren't cheap, you'd at least expect a rain cover.
They do include raincovers on most of their packs, it's just the lighter models that don't. The Stratos is an alternative which does have one.
Hyperventilated 😱
Thanks for watching. Paul.

New. The price will come down soon.
