Great playing by the way...fascinating video its amazing the technology these days I haven't even looked at a keyboard in about 20 years before this video
How loud can be the internal speakers and how well they are articulating? Is it good enough, or is it just the same old story : no, you have to connect good external speakers to enjoy your instrument.
Hi Justin the jumper is cool 😎 great vid I really like the boggie at the beginning of the video :-) I don’t think that the Blue Danube needs an electric bass in the arrangement... 😯
I fell in love with the Yamaha Genos. My question: Being the psr sx700 a little more modern: Does it features the sounds, arpeggiator etc. of the Genos???
Hello 👋 Justin = 🤪Mike Taylor here from “ Abertillery 👍- just found demo etc , I’ll keep viewing 😎= hope you ain’t got ‘ moth holes in your nostalgic jersey 👍🌈
Hi dear friend, I wanted to ask you if this model of yamaha keyboard has two categories, for example PSR-3000 and PSR-a3000? Or all of this model (PSR-SX700) have oriental capabilities? Thanks for your good review 👍
SX range has some oriental capabilities but if you really want an oriental keyboard with buttons for different tunings etc. there is the Yamaha PSR-A5000 keyboard. That one is more like a SX-900 though and also has that much higher price tag.
I also have a question, what format does this psr xs700 use, from the other models up to tyros1 to this model and what is strange from what I saw that they took out all the kind of ballad style???
Very nice video, but the one thing it seems to lack is the ability to build a style simply based on organ, i.e. no drums bass etc, and no measure length. I'd love to be able to do this...
hello can you advice my yamaha sx 700 how to activate 3 part voices the work only right1 and2 when i try activate right 3 there is atomaticaly turn off right1 and right2
I have never owned an arranger, I do edit video and audio a lot.... in your opinion, which would serve me better for building backing tracks for silent movies? PA 1000 or the sx900?@@-original-6163
I have to choose between an SX700 and an SX900, some say it's the same with more option for the 900, a chord looper, more sounds too ect .. and others say that the sx700 has the sounds of the tyros 5 while the sx900 inherits the sound of the Genos ... What is the truth? Great video ;)
I have the SX900 it's great I choose it because of the speakers (and much cheaper than the genos) I've connected my cp73 to the SX900 (for the speakers, via aux in and midi) I think for live playing it's better than the sx700.
@@lindenmeyermedien4535 Thanks for the information, the best speakers, the chord looper, and more sounds can make me decide to take the 900 rather than the 700, no need for bluetooth, vocal harmony in my case. It would be an upgrade to my e-463 that I love. I saw a 700 in store, the speakers are powerful but I was not blown away by the sound quality...hope our discussions will help other people to make the right choice based on their need, thanks again
sx700 has the sounds from Tyros4 .sx900 has the sounds from tyros5 and few drum kits from genos. sx900 totally has 9 Insertion effects (the same as tyros5)and sx700 only 5 dsp (the same as psr-s775)
I'm hoping to buy a better keyboard to replace my Yamaha PSR-295 and this one definitely has all of the sounds from Tyros 2 in addition to a cut down selection of sounds and styles from the newer Tyros models and even a few taster sounds and styles from Genos. Another advantage is that it's speakers are built in and it even looks nicer in black so it blends in. It's definitely a well worth investment if you can get it for under £1,000, £949 doesn't seem too bad which is the cheapest price I have seen a PSR-SX700 go for. Only a fraction of the cost of a Tyros 5 or a Genos. This is still good enough to use in midi music production.
Personally if I bought a PSR-S775 back in the day I would stick with it just because I'm the sort of person who would only buy one arranger/workstation and stick with it. But then I don't do part exchanges.
It's such a great board for the money!! Ok not got all that the 900 has ...but ideal for my needs ...I sold my 900 and got enough cash back to buy a korg i3 to pair with an sx700 .. This board is amazing for the money and will load Geno's files
My sx700 which is only 6 months old is stuck on the logo screen and I don't know what to do. Someone please give the solution.I came to know that many owners of this keyboard have the same problem.
@@jeffeason3599 I don't deny Genos is a different breed, but when a person does not have money, you can always create an environment, can you get a huge cathedral size pipe organ at your home.....but there are so many daw software which be done in a computer at home so before replying to a comment read the intent of a comment

But that’s what you said so reread your comment before saying you were misunderstood. The keybed of the Genos is different and better than the others. Which is one reason it’s significantly more expensive.
MODX is a Synthesizer while PSR SX models are Arrangers.I have used both and sound quality similar although I do like the MODX more when I play solo’s. The only problem I have with MODX is the low quality of the keys. They feel super cheap.
100% my vote on the SX700. It has fantastic FSB Organ keybed and touchscreen interface. The SX600 *does not* have this type of FSB Keybed and it still has the same keybed found on the E463 and S670. A Feature that the SX600 has but not the SX700 is the Unision and Accent functions. In terms of style count there is 400 in the SX700 and 415 on the SX600 which makes it bigger by 15, however the styles on the SX700 are taken from the SX900 and revoiced for its model while the SX600 has Styles directly from the S775 with more content from the world and plenty of world styles. the SX700 also has a joystick instead of the SX600's separate pitch bend and modulation wheel. SX600 has lighter weight. 8.8kgs on SX600 vs 11.5kgs on the SX700.
Definately buy the PSR-SX700 if you can afford to spend the extra money on an SX700. Otherwise the SX600 is still a great keyboard if you can't afford to spend over £1,000. I'm hoping to eventually buy a Tyros 5 or an SX900 but I would buy an SX600 if I couldn't afford to spend over £1,000.

The "lite" midrange arranger of Yamaha have gone so far from the inferiorly equipped, less-privileged PSR-640 back from 1999 to the well-equipped, premium sounding PSR-SX700 of today. I am a regular user of these "lite" arranger lineup. I tried every generation of it. In the earlier years, these were definitely inferior to their top of the line counterparts. The PSR-1000 (2001), PSR-1100 (2003), PSR-1500 (2005), and PSR-S700 (2007) all have heavily reduced soundsets and features in comparison their respective top models (2000, 2100, 3000, S900). Things start to change from the PSR-S710 released in 2009. Starting on that generation, the 700-series are given better sounds (derived from top model of a previous generation), and the features, apart from the lack of vocal harmony, are the same as the top models.
It's not crap. Although I would love to own a Tyros 5 or Genos that might not be possible as last October I resigned after a massive falling out with my boss over the phone ( obviously she is not my boss anymore ). I would hope to get a PSR-SX900 but if the SX700 is the best I can afford I will be very happy with it. It has all of Yamaha's finest samples, the sweet soprano sax, super articulation alto saxophones and even a few sounds from Genos. If I didn't resign I would have been the proud owner of a Tyros 5 right now but things don't always work out. If my allowance is also revolked then I might not even be able to get an SX700!
I will settle for an SX600 if that's all I can afford! Unfortunately even Tyros 5's are starting to become more sort after but I would be very lucky if I end up with an SX700! At least that would avoid me having to buy Halion anymore if I ever need a new computer 10 years down the line. I should be able to buy a new keyboard by 2025, I did also think of waiting until 2027 to see if I could save for a Genos and maybe I might possibly do that as many of the sounds in Genos have improved. It depends on my financial circumstances, yeah if I wasn't stupid enough to pack my job in I could have been playing a Tyros 5 right now!
