      It's the multilingual nightmare. I've been speaking two languages all my life but I still forget / never even learned some words. A few days ago I could not, for the life of me remember what the word for gate was in English. I speak English and Afrikaans (other language) every day and I have pretty much since I've learned to talk. So I guess it's normal Xd.

      As a native Swedish speaker, do you know how difficult it is to speak Swedish? No, well I do, because I think in English 99% of the time. I used to speak Swedish at such an advanced level that it's rare to see people speak and understand so much even for a native speaker, and then I started to indulge myself into British and American Television and I lost 20% of my Swedish Vocabulary.
      Being Bilingual or multilingual, polyglot etc whatever you'd want to call it, is a curse, because to retain a lot of the information and words you use and grammar and such stuff, you need to actively use the language. And since I only speak Swedish perhaps 20% of the time that I used to, it's hard to keep it to a level higher than native.

      @Perrirodan1 5 лет назад +8

      Salut, je ne suis pas Ikena mais j'ai un très bon niveau de langue en Anglais.
      Le plus important c'est la régularité et l’immersion. Pour avoir du progrès, Il faut juste que tu apprennes 5 nouveau mots par jour.
      Si tu fait ça et que tu regardes plus de contenus en Anglais (film, vidéos, jeux, pages web chansons)tu vas vite devenir meilleure.
      Une autre astuce cette fois ci au niveau de la prononciation c'est ce que l'on appel le ghosting. Cela consiste à écouter une phrase dans la langue cible et d'ensuite la répéter le plus proche possible.
      Ça aide aussi de prendre le temps de pratiquer la prononciation de tout les sons en Anglais.
      Nous en fac de langue on nous a appris l'alphabet phonétique international et on nous a fait pratiquer tout les sons présent dans la langue Anglaise.
      Apprendre une langue ce n'est pas un sprint c'est un marathon. Il faut donc plus se focaliser sur de petites habitudes que sur des grosses leçons.
      Si tu es prêtes à payer quelques euros je pourrais te recommander Mosalingua.
      C'est une application qui si elle est un peu ennuyeuse est très efficace pour ajouter du vocabulaire car elle utilise des cartes de vocabulaire avec de la répétition espacé. Sinon y'a la méthode pimsleur mais c'est beaucoup plus cher(même si efficace)
      Sinon en gratuit, tu peux utiliser Anki et faire tes propre cartes de vocabulaire (ou importer des cartes toutes faites)
      Ecouter des podcasts d'apprentissage de langue est aussi plutôt efficace.
      Quoi qu'il en soit ne perd pas l'envie et tu y arriveras!

      Honestly, get a Netflix account and start watching a show you like/are interested in trying, and try watching without subtitles. Also try to speak to natives/people who are proficient in English. This might help. Bonne chance!

    Hi Ikenna, kinda "older" video here but I just found you randomly and wanted to say that you are incredible ! I am french and I know that this language isn't the easiest one... But your vocabulary is insane for that little time, you know a lot of word and we (french people) can definitively understand you ! And I hope your girlfriend will keeping you motivated to learn it, it can be really beautiful (and I guess americans find it sexy :p )
    Voilà ! Just wanted to tell you that I love what you do and your patience for learning all of this different languages. That's one of my dream too haha. Bonne continuation et courage ! :p (sorry for the mistakes)

    And just for you (in case) : "Sentiments" is when you feel something for a person or for a situation. "Sensation" is when you feel something in the body. This is the biggest difference.
    J'ai des "sentiments" pour toi car je suis amoureux et j'ai la "sensation" d'avoir mon cœur qui bat pour toi à la chamade !
    Love you bro

    Man, I'm learning using your methods and take a day in the week to speak only English will be my new goal. Pretty sure I'll be fluent in a few months, I'm really advanced in English, but I'm training my dialogues, witch I didn't do often. I'm sorry if have gramatical erros in this message, I started studying sentence formation recently so it might be a little confusing or complicated to understand.

    It’s “shocks” not “Electrocutes” btw. Electrocution is death by electricity. I like the video tho very nice

    • @nunyabusiness6450
      @nunyabusiness6450 5 лет назад +2

      Electrocution is a spectrum, and shock is a measure of electrocution, like how much electricity if that makes sense
      I got electrocuted, and burnt my hand. He got electrocuted, and it left no mark, if someone got struck by lightning, they'd be electrocuted. There's a range.

    • @rafaelrandom500
