In my country, they often prescribe the figure-of-eight bandage or the Desault bandage (also called Velpeau), as well as a sling for conservative treatment of this fracture. It makes sense that only a sling gives no weight/pressure on the fractured bone.
I am 16 and my clavicle got fractured a month ago and I got a surgery and now it's almost normal. I only wear sling while travelling and now I can do almost all work and even it doesn't pain.
I broke my collar bone in 2. No surgery. Took me 2 months for normal activity and 3 month to full recovery, after 4-5 months to finally going back to the gym And I'm here at this video as my first time broke my clavicle 😂 if you guys broke it into 2 I suggest no need for surgery. Just remember the long term effect
Just broke mine into 4 pieces😂 2 of them were displaced and i was very lucky, because nearly broke through my skin. My surgery was 3 months ago and it still causes pain from time to time, most annoying thing i‘ve ever witnessed 🫡

Ha! I just broke my clavicle a month ago. At first they were like 'we will see how it is in two weeks', then at week 3 they said 'If we saw this on day 1, we would have done surgery'. Oh well, lol
So how its going. Im at 3 weeks and my 2nd xray doesnt show the bone to be connected yet. And they still didnt say a thing about surgery. My fracture looks like the z type fracture
@@locoman535 Well, my Z type fracture healed and there's minimal pain. We'll see how it behaves when I'm in my 40's though. I think it healed because it wasn't a true z-type, as the fractures were quite elongated, instead of vertical. So the marrow sort of lined up with the other marrow even though it visually appears to be very displaced.
I'd broke my one some years ago, too. The bone came out of my Skin on the upper Side and i had a surgery where they put a metal plate on top. This is now 7 years ago - should i leave it in or should they put it put?
I see in thf sisters x ray her bone is up wards and out ..the bandage they put slipped off the shoulder three times..the surgeon didn't stick the tape to the skin...shes in constant pain..its been three mths now..
I was accidentally fractured my right clavicle,my underneath arm got manhid ,i got pain and high blood pressure up & low... My doctor give me medicine 😊for mucle pain. It reduces but im always got nervous everyday! Why is it like that? Please i need your suggestion😭😭😭
The local ED saw my patient (who has no insurance) and sent him home with a Z fracture. The nurse encouraged him to start moving the shoulder. Sounds like a bit of mp to me. They must put a fixation plate on this patient.
