As much as I enjoy John's Street riding, I honestly think he could be bred for comp skating. He's super devoted to practice and he's pretty dang consistent.

yo john, i think the MAIN reason why jonny was getting frustrated and so was gabe, was because andy had THE WORST INTERNET CONNECTION EVER during that game... he lagged out several times and andy just had poor connection even while there and his tricks were next to impossible to tell wether he landed it or not because it would just cut out.

I'm glad you actually put genuine effort into this, there's nothing more disappointing then when two people you want to see play a game of skate don't even try because they have too much pride to open themselves up to the possibility of losing. The winner of a game of skate isn't always the "best" skater they are just the person who has the most tricks on lock. With that said you should be proud and I am proud of you, because you're an extremely consistent and skilled skater. One of the best in out there for sure.
Seemd like while he was practicing ticks that where way below his skill level in preparation for this. The others where practicing shit like gazelle flips

Ukemi is a form of training that originated in martial arts but can also apply to skateboarding. It's basically "how do you fall correctly" to minimize damage.Look up Ukemi and there will be a lot of tutorials on how to fall correctly. Idk If this helps for you, it helped me with all the risky sports that I do.
Go to the back of Hobby Lobby in grapevine tx off of hwy 121. It’s a staple for skaters in the community and a decent street spot with gaps ledges and small stairs

I had a dream I met you at my grocery store. I tried to say what's up but then I remembered the pandemic so I just yelled that I liked your videos
i love these videos, recently had a similar realization (although on a way smaller scale). been doing the same tricks for decades and it's like- i can shove so high, why tf aren't i shoving in and out of grinds? fakie grinds to shove.. 180's too, all of a sudden every grind you know has 8 variations with fs/bs reg/switch/nollie/fakie. combine all of those with all shove combinations of in and out and it's like a whole new world. then repeat with every flip trick..
i've also found in my old age i'm learning stuff SO much quicker. i think one it's because i'm way more relaxed with no expectation like "i guess i'll try this shit..." and then get it in 1-3 tries. the other is realizing what's wrong and making adjustments and i'm smarter about those adjustments than when i was a young stubborn idiot.
