Ricky, that GoPro wide angle footage is brilliant, it's so good to see the car being worked on up close and I love that it gives a better, easier-to-see general raw view compared to the usual part detail shots from the main camera with the shallower depth of field. Even if it wasn't on purpose, it's definitely a happy accident, please use it more often!
Given the removal of some parts were not shown plus the hassle to wiggle engines like these out I think it goes someway to show why labour cost can cost as much as they do. Gives an appreciation of the patients needed when working on super cars. On top of that the learning and training on multiple manufacturers I take my hat off to you guys. Love all the technical stuff great videos guys 👍
Not as horrendous as removing an engine from a Countach, if you’ve seen Harry Metcalfe’s car being worked on at Iain Tyrell’s garage. Still not easy though by the look of it.
I dread to think how many people have broke their selves maxing out their credit cards buying something like this … only for something to go wrong , then loose a SHT load of money when they can’t afford to fix it … Nice job , nice content as usual and all made better with a dose of ricks humour.
Remember this day, the day Mitch started an AMSR only fans 😆 Enjoying the journey of this one - my fingers and toes are crossed it gets sorted and everyone is happy - it could be the first project completed - only if we all beliiiiieve though! I pray to the teabag gawds that it gets to go to the track day thing \o/
Great video! Pulling a Lambo engine one up is some top spannering. Hope the POV video is cost efficient and we can see more of the technical side. Thanks for sharing 👍
Love that it is another Lambo vid' ! Been a Lambo fan for year, and ever since i knew Feruccio gave Enzo the Agincourt sign re his Ferarri and it's issues! Keep 'em comin' megga thanks to you and the Team :)
If the piston is ok its the best you could hope for. You where always going to replace always going to replace all the valve train an extra camshaft is nothing, it would be less than the labor to strip the bottom end
Hey up fellas looking forward to knowing why you think the vale spring failed and how did you manage to get snap on to paint that engine lift to mach your car ramp. Good video thanks
Are Gen1 R8 brake discs directional? Also are there any brake pads you recommend that produce low dust? Great content as always and look forward to seeing you next service 👍🏽
I don't mind it not being Timelapse good to see how he does it his way. Couple things have music on lightly if anyone has been to litchfield you'll know. Your working ontop of your self aswell clean up a bit as you go along
We don’t have music on in videos due to copyright claims. Working on top of ourselves is just the pain of the workshop. It’s too small for us now. Everything goes on trolleys but the displaced parts on a job this size is massive!
Is the issue just a random breakage / they do that sometimes ? Or a service / maintenance problem ? Was it a weak part ? Would love to win one of these but pockets no where near deep enough if the shit hits the fan !
Why do all that work and leave in parts that have mileage? Typical race engine practice, better to put “good” valves in the bin than complete broken engines….
Would it have been prudent to replace just that row of valves along with the cam? I believe before you’ve said you don’t reuse old valve springs with a new cam.
@REPerformanceUK I guess my question was more, if you wanted to do it cheaper could you have replaced just the one cam and those 10 valves rather than all 40 valves? Thanks Ricky!
Those are safety shoes in a trainer style. Very common now, give toe and sole puncture protection. Not as good as a full boot because your ankles are not supported but perfectly acceptable in a flat workshop where ankle rolling is not a high risk.
Bloody ell! Who edits this! 3:40 to 12:40 of a man pulling on and engine hoist! Thats 9 minutes of one shot! I hope you’re not paying Dav by the minute!!! Shocking editing!!!
Bloody hell, what a twatty comment! If you were remotely mechanically minded - that section you mentioned - is most interesting, and a testament to Mitch's ability in getting that lump out single-handed. If you want fluffy highly edited content, basically showing little more than the before and after shots, may I suggest the latest offerings of Wheeler Dealers or some such shite???
Why replace all valves and springs when only one has failed? I get the principle if you were planning on keeping the car, for safety sake. But if flipping, then replace what broke and reuse what you can, no?
Would you want to buy the car someone cheaped out a repair on? We do it properly because that’s how I work. The people cutting corners on these types of cars end up with me getting repaired properly! When you damage one shoe, you don’t just replace that one….you replace the pair!
@@REPerformanceUK ha ha... No no🤣🤣 I wish you could upload videos to these chats... Whenever I get service videos from the tech guys, it's always monotone videos, probably thinking - "We know you have been racing your bloody car" 😐😐🤣🤣
What a horrendous job for something that should not fail in reality unless being raced.... My guess is totally crap spring material.... l reckon the conversation in the Lambo conference room with the engine R&D department was, shall we use the £1.99 valve springs or the £2.09 quality ones.... then the newly graduated shiny arse says, yes lets go with the £1.99 ones.... Then he gets promotion in record time for cutting production costs, perfect😅. The above scenario is exactly what happened when l worked directly for a massive Swedish Truck manufacturer when the heads started dropping off exhaust valves & taking engines with it in the process, as most Truck drivers are experts in driving to destruction😅.... The best bit was, this was in the vehicle warranty period......oops😮.
From 7 July 2024, all new cars will legally have to be fitted with a speed limiter The UK is will be adopting the new speed limiting rules, even after Brexit The driver will still be responsible for adhering to the speed limits All new cars that are launching or have been launched in the European market need to be fitted with an Intelligent Speed Assist (ISA) by 7 July 2024 according to the 2019/2044 regulation by the European Commission. This means any existing unregistered cars on forecourts will have to be retrofitted with a speed limiter before they can be sold. This mandate comes after the European Commission's legislation that made it a legal requirement for all new vehicles sold in Europe to be fitted with a speed limiter from 6 July 2022. All new cars in the UK will also have to follow these new road safety regulations despite leaving the EU, as even after Brexit, the UK has retained most EU laws for new cars. This mandate will help in standardising the car manufacturing process for different markets. Using speed limiters successfully would also be a step forward in developing self-driving cars in the UK.
Don't know what it be like if you done like a couple of full engine rebuilds and put it on a time lapse might end up as popular as 'watch restoration' vids . Unless you think someone could slow down the time-lapse to normal speed and your "ARMING IDIOTS" If that is a possibility ,edit out some key stages maybe. Just a thought it might be hard to stop watching once you start , maybe some narration talking through the basics in lehmann's terms. Maybe a time-lapse engine strip or re-fit . Not sure if you or anyone's done/doing similar. Just an idea I think would catch the shortterm attention span that's womed it's way into society . "Be like scrolling through instagram". Keep up the good work. Your Workshop/garage AKA SURGERY is polar opposite to most's idea of a workshop . What was the alias 'GREASE MONKEY' FUCK MR MORE LIKE SURGEONS . PEACE OUT JAY MARSHALL
Guys there’s just not consistency through these videos! You have a few projects now, but you need to provide fluidity or a constant underlining story through the start of the videos. Very sketchy uploads.

Fair play to Mitch getting that out on his own. Thats defo a 2 man job! Great content guys👍

Ricky loving this series and the channel overall keep up the great work. By the way fascinating W hatching engine taken out on GoPro
You are right Mitch. That did look exhausting 😁
Nice work Mitch, the only way that section could have been better was if there were time stamp on the shots
Mitch is dynamite, he deserves a pay rise, he got that lambo engine and gearbox out in 12:41 sec… ❤😂😂🏆💯🆗🤷♂️💴👀

Strange one but what's the make of your Gilltte
Davla, Would a macro lens be worth the investment for you?
Exactly, the close ups ain't close up! Can't see any damage on that cam from 18inches away!!
At last, a project that might get completed , enjoyed that
Still a might! 😂🤪
Awesome as usual but i need this quality content in 1440p minimum .......pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Have you ever seen a Lambo doing 100000 miles Toyota style with nothing but routine maintenance ?
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Have a fab time on track day!
Springs ok. But why all new valves?
The problem started with the spring that broke. Honest question.
Why do all that work and leave in parts that have mileage? Typical race engine practice, better to put “good” valves in the bin than complete broken engines….
I fing love that car, nice one.
Would it have been prudent to replace just that row of valves along with the cam? I believe before you’ve said you don’t reuse old valve springs with a new cam.
Changed the cam, all valves and all springs….
@REPerformanceUK I guess my question was more, if you wanted to do it cheaper could you have replaced just the one cam and those 10 valves rather than all 40 valves? Thanks Ricky!
Is it not easier to remove the engine cover, slide the assembly back a bit and remove it from the top?
I’m sure they would if it was 😉
Project might cost a lot more if the young lad drops the engine on his foot, stay safe guys :)

Is T shirt, shorts and soft toe trainers suitable PPE when removing an engine? Surely I would have thought steel toe caps would have been required. 🤔
They are steel toe caps, we wear trainer style ones as its easier to drive the cars 👍
Did the engine have to come out to fix the top end?
Yeah unfortunately as you can't get the heads off with it in place, exhaust manifolds ect can only be taken off with the engine out really
