Got a lot of time for ChrisMD. In a world where most youtubers will do and say all sorts of crazy things for views, he's never been that kind of youtuber. Always comes across as such a nice person and extremely respectful of those around him, and the way he has handled such a public breakup is a real credit to his character. An absolute legend of the UK RUclips scene. I wish him many more successful years to come!

For anyone who sees this comment, if you would ever have to experience a breakup/divorce/etc. I hope it goes just as smoothly and amicably. The mutual respect does play a part -- you'll sorta both need to be respectful and grateful people (Chris and Shannon absolutely are). My last ex slept with like 4 guys the first month after our break up and now even 20 months later (and happily 10 months into my current relationship) I still can't get over this.
That sucks, but it says more about her than you. I wouldn't beat yourself up over it. We can't control everything which happens in our lives. I was lucky enough to be on quite positive terms with my ex for a fair while. Eventually, I stopped contact so I could properly move on, but I wished her well. No hard feelings or anything. Life is too short to hold grudges.

I myself was lucky enough to experience a role model breakup at a young age when my parents separated. They’ve remained very civil to each other and are still friends, which was absolutely the best thing for me and my sister. Other than having to live between houses, I honestly don’t think their breakup impacted our lives too much.
I’m glad to hear divorce didn’t negatively affect your life. I’ve known some people that it subconsciously destroyed them because their parents didn’t get along at all after awhile, and that’s just a sucky spot to be in. Good to hear that sometimes, it works out for the better for everyone.

Here’s the thing tho, you both can say whatever and believe whatever but it’s gonna sting when the ex gets a new lover, it will sting, you may say you don’t care but it’ll still hurt, and unless you yourself get someone new it’ll take a longer while for it to stop hurting.

I agree. There are certain situations or certain people in life that you just have to let go. It’s nice that chris and shannon broke up on “good terms”. But, lets be real, your ex-lover that you’ve been dating for years can’t simply just become a “good” friend.

I don’t get why people can’t understand being friends after a relationship, My and my ex broke up 2 years ago and we met up a couple months later on a friend basis and we had sex but then 18 months after that we meet up every 2/3 months and just have food or something cus we get on so well and it’ll sound weird but having sex that time after we broke up really put it all behind us cus u realise if ur not in love it’s not the same so u don’t build it up in ur head as good if that makes sense
