I think he may have meant "persecution" instead of "prosecution". Unless you are being hounded personally by the district attorney. Update. After hearing it for a second time, in the final talk he mentioned a "push factor" one being "prosecution". In the middle talk he mentioned "persecution". I believe he hesitated briefly in the middle talk when he said
"persecution". He was mentally looking for the word.
Either way, it is a valid reason to run away.
Of course Europe is going through this too. A lot of immigration comes through Belarus to Eastern Europe. From there it heads toward Germany and through Denmark to Sweden and from there to Norway. The middle east and central Asia have a poverty problem and China and India are overpopulated. The first wave started in the post world war 2 period where Europe lay waste and Europeans brought in "gast Arbeiter" who didn't return but stayed. The second European wave started in the 1980s when their family members started arriving due to family unification laws being implemented. The third wave is taking place now as globalization is ruining the middle east and central Asian economies along with European support for "spring revolutions" in North African countries. Also the former colonies in Africa were invited in so Europe could run grave yard shifts in their factories for Europe's "economic miracle" using near slave labor or as it is called "cheap labor".
Actually, the 1965 immigration reform act promoted by Lyndon B. Johnson with Edward (Ted) Kennedy said there would be no large immigration increase. Instead of immigration to make the USA a better country, family reunification was used instead. So instead of bringing in an educated person, an immigrant's brother in law who had no education came in instead. That is one of the reasons why Americans are among the least educated in the world today. The descendants of the first and second wave are for the most doing well, but the Latinx and South East Asian immigration are falling behind. Too many languages are being spoken in the schools and therefore no one learns anything. Homeschooling among the first and second wave of Europeans is taking over in in large swaths of the country. Many of the factory jobs have been sent to China, so there are not many jobs in that field. Maybe Uber , lyft or taxi jobs for the immigrants. Many also come for truck driving jobs, but since they aren't used to the freeways and highways in the United States better be careful driving near them. The trucking industry is ripe with cheap labor. Virtually every industry has been taken over by the cheap labor lobby. Soon there may be a mass emigration from the United States to countries where value and quality is valued instead of cheap and shoddy products. Many Polish Americans for example who came after world war 1 have headed back to Poland. The Italian Americans have headed back to Italy. Others are following soon. Wait the next 20 years.

This is merely a representation of how an oral exam is conducted at upper secondary school. Teachers are required to ask pupils questions related to topics that have been undergone in class, which are further related to competence aims delegated from the Directorate of Education. So no, it is not always relevant to talk about "normal things" in these settings.
