Outrageous that the gun wasn't even discovered until the cruise ended! But just try to bring pain gummies...you'll be snatched out of line, cuffed, and banned. unacceptable!
What psycho-lunatic would bring a gun on to a cruise ship? This breech can NEVER be allowed to happen again! This is a closed setting, just like a prison….and guns are never, ever allowed within the walls of a prison. Their presence can be disastrous. This is unbelievable in times of mass shootings.
As someone who carries (with a CCL) daily I can understand why a person might forget that they have a firearm but this should have been detected at the time of boarding. Be a responsible firearm owner.
Limitations are becoming necessary, especially when it comes to the Monstrosities they are now building. It doesn't take long to overload a Port when you have 6000 or more on board. Too much entirely. It is destroying cruising, and causes major unwanted itinerary changes.
My stepdad was on the USS FORESTALL, on the flight deck. A cable snap CAN cut a person clean in half! The plane would come in, land, the tail hook would catch and snap the "arresting cable", and some unfortunate sailor would be in the wrong place at the wrong time. He's told me those stories about his time on the " USS Kills All" . He was also onboard when that big fire broke out on the ship! Those snapping cables are VERY dangerous, and I'm glad - VERY GLAD - the Crew kept those passengers safe!
The ship pulls off moorings. My knowledge after working as a flight attendant for 34 years at American Airlines. Every year during annual emergency training, we have a class entitled Accidents and Incidents. To state the obvious, we only review survivable ones. Many airlines make videos clearly explaining what happened and how it was handled. All airlines share these. I can tell you this: well over 90% of accidents and incidents, and I will add unsurvivable ones, occur as a series of small mistakes. Not just one mistake by one person.
@@MicheleMackey-d9zEveryone is entitled to their stupid opinion, and we need to respect their stupid opinion even if sound like a Scrooge and Grinch all together.
I watched one RUclips couple put out 1,000 ducks all over a ship. When I saw that I just knew that the cruise lines would hate it. In that case I don’t blame Disney. If it’s more than an occasional duck it’s just trash. All the crew were finding them and throwing out the ducks.
I have an artificial titanium knee. I always beep going through a metal detector. However, when traffic is high they turn down the metal detectors. On one occasion I did not beep through Heathrow. Scary! I never beep going into or out of Mexico. Rarely, have I ever beeped while getting onto a cruise ship. Not surprised that they did not detect the gun.
I can see Disney’s concern if someone leaves directions on a duck to meet somewhere on the ship for a child to find. They may promise the child a reward finding the duck but in reality have ill intent. There are creepy people on Disney ships too.
Too much crap happening with cruising. We have decided to stop cruising for the foreseeable future and spend our travel money differently. Last year we had a great holiday in Hawaii at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and have just returned from travelling through Thailand. All the best everyone from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
I was on the Prima and the storm was really bad also causing flooding. Our private transfer was worried that he wasn't going to be able to make it off the ship as the island was flooding. We drove through some pretty high waters that were covering the roads. A car would most likely wouldn't of been able to get through but we were in an SUV. The other thing I wanted to mention that disembarkation became a shit show with many passengers very upset. We were in a line on deck 6 thinking we were getting off on deck 6 but 2 hours later we were still barely moving to find out that our line was actually getting off on 4. However they kept calling other colors to get off which made more people getting going to 4 to get off which was slowing our line. We took a chance once we found out to switch to the other line and we were off 10 minutes later. Many people would of missed their flights because of this. We were ok since we were only flying the next day but our driver who was waiting for us was worried about staying much longer because of the flooding. My opinion they shouldn't of continued calling people to disembark when the line was so long. It was my only complaint about the cruise otherwise it was a great ship and the crew was fantastic.
Let Disney do them. This means the ducks will be exclusive to Carnival. Why she need a gun on vacation? She needed to just stay home. Security definitely didn’t do their job.
Like I say, they should ban her from cruising Look at all the problems she has caused. Security company could lose their contract. People could lose their job, all because she was being stupid. She. knew better not to bring a gun on board. Why would she do that.
It’s time to change some policies. I know lots of bloggers take their own luggage and equipment, but do they go through security? Evidently, their system was not working. And on top of that, there have been some rapes onboard that ship too.
I can’t believe that someone would want to bring a gun on board a cruise ship. They have to be pretty pathetic to feel they need a gun on a cruise ship. They’re definitely sketchy people on some cruises. But it’s no reason to be paranoid. Also, Disney had been D-ucked up for decades.
So people feeling the need to protect themselves from a potential lunatic/rapist/batterer is “pretty pathetic?” How about you direct your “pathetic” comment to security pre-boarding. Obviously she cruised without incident.
Maybe Disney would be open to a Disney-only duck hunt...Purchase at time of booking, 100 units /$39.99 + tax, tip and a 20% gratuity...ducks found by crew at cruise end can be collected and resold on next booking...win, win, win.
I don't understand why they are blaming the port? Was it in the luggage when boarding and it was the port authority responsible for screening? Every time I boarded, I had to walk through a metal detector that was on board the ship beside at the port, if any.
Personally, I think balance is in order. I think that the ports should have half and half of both types of ships by number of passengers. Also, I think that this whole fear based theology about climate change is not worth it, because we are going after a speck of dust when what we do is not even a big enough of a solution given what the largest polluters are doing. Thus, I wouldn't worry about the alleged pollution of the ships, but would consider having a hull cleaning thing at any port that has space for it. But what do I know. lol
In the 1980s travel security was basically nonexistent. You could carry a dead horse through customs and not get caught. 🐪👈🏼 That's a camel 👉🏽That's a horse 🐎
Pretty scary stuff. A loaded gun? That person working the x-ray machine was NOT paying attention. X-ray machines screens color the picture two ways. Organic vs. Non-organic. Obviously the Non-organic gun would have stood outxas a very dark blue or black, as opposed to Organic which is usually an orange yellowish color. I know because I've worked them myself. Too bad tho that one person has to mess it up for the whole company. Sadly this is usually the way tho. Just takes one rotten apple uo ruin the whole bunch! 😮😢
Personally I agree that people should not have guns on board. However I live in the UK and we have very few guns. My understanding is that, in the USA, having a gun is much more a part of life. They are easy to get and legal. Some people carry one everywhere. Would they not expect to keep their gun when getting on a ship? Do people think Americans should change their lifestyle on a ship, or that ships (especially those sailing from the USA) should adapt more to Americans?
