It is always great to play with my brothers. Regi, Roy, Joseph and Victor Wooten.
I don’t know what’s crazier, these brothers playing the most insane live performance I’ve ever seen, or Victor tossing his $5k Fodera in the air mid set. 😱
Lmao, double that price and add some for a fodera...
I think $13.5k for that one!
I think money does not exist anymore after that 😂
Amazing throw :) (and catch) hehe cheers and thx to the Wooten brothers :D
Michael Wronkowski “WHEN SPIRIT MOVES YA, SPIRIT GROOVES YA”...AND ON THAT NOTE...”THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT MESSAGE YOU CAN EVER GIVE ANYONE IS SOUL EXISTS BECAUSE OF GODS LOVE FOR IT”...BLESSINGS OF HU TO YOU AND YOURS
These guys must have played together before
They are brothers hahahahah
Rip
@@sladaz1 smh....
In the late 1970s, the Four Wooten Brothers went to Denbigh HIgh School (about a mile from my house). Can you imagine going toa talent show there? They regularly played together at Busch Gardens amusement Park in Williamsburg, Va.
Legend has it, this is the first time these gentlemen have ever met.
Both are amazing, but let's give the drummer some! Crazy ability to keep up when they change up!
E. Will The amazing Roy Wooten I believe!
@@residentkrockhead Futureman Wooten ... My Brother is smooth mon
Regi Wooten on guitar, Joseph Wooten keyboards, Roy Wooten drums, Victor Wooten bass.
The drummer sets the tempo. They're all keeping up with him.
Future man is the man🫶🏿👍👏
All 5 Wooten Brothers used to live in Newport News VA, because I went to Denbigh High School with Reggie, Joseph, Roy and Rudy (RIP). I only saw Victor when the Wooten's played my Ring Dance in 1976...the same year Roy (best snare drummer in VA All State competition) graduated. Wonderful guys and always so humble! Never knew Reggie's name was Elijah until I saw facebook address above! Roy signed my copy of Modern Drummer Anniversary issue and wrote he would be famous some day, as he was picking up parts for his first "drumitar" at the AL&M on Rt. 17. I was the drummer in a local 3-man Christian metal band "Vessel" in 1987-89 and our bass player Scott actually took a few lessons from Victor...that's a cool memory!
I grew up in the years of Jaco Pastorius, Louis Johnson, Marcus Miller, Larry Graham and was convinced no one could pluck it better than Stanley Clarke. The Wootens are just from another planet.
I agree 100% victor is all of them put together then more.Amazing.!!
SVM all day
And they’re still inspiring a new generation of virtuosic players. From Tosin to Tim Henson to Ichika Nito to Evan Brewer and on and on and on. Now, be mindful that these players are not just great musicians or instrumentalists, but they’re also young. So compositions often fit a younger person’s aesthetic. Ichika, for example, releases mostly short sort of interludes. Tim of Polyphia has a very hip hop/pop structure to his compositions, even if they’re mostly instrumental.
Cats like MonoNeon, he’s a bit older, and the people lucky enough to work with him? Man... so much great material coming out these days. Just so long as we don’t get that regressive biting stuff trying too hard to actually BE Zep or whatever (what were they called, wolfmother? Yeesh), there’s nothing but progress in so many avenues of music.
Yes, there’s also the most boring trap beats with mumble rappers over top. That’s to keep the riffraff out of the way when we’re on our way to a Snarky Puppy show.
Jeppppp
Thank you, so many names I didn´t know ! Will definitely check them all out !!!!!!@@Terrible_Peril
A very talented gene pool. I want to be a guest at one of their family reunions or something. This performance was the first time I've ever seen a "time signature countdown", awesome.
Victor landing that triple spin with the bass........best stage presence of all time. Unbelievable. Proof that risk is effective. I had to watch it 10 times to believe it. He truly studies martial arts. God mode. The Wooten brothers are innovators at the highest level attainable. Can it even be pushed further? Victor the magician musician will say yes and keep playing music.
Imagine if any of us would've been playing since we were 2 like Victor instead of starting in our teens, or even later. This man learned music and English at the same time, must be incredible to understand it so well.
imagine if any of us were born 50 years ago and were drafted and killed fighting a war. such is life
@@waffleman9000 lmao
Gods among mortals... the funkiest men alive.
Jake Ellery facts
That time signature count down at the end was one of the greatest things I've seen in a live performance. This family has some amazing musical chemistry.
I’m am left speechless at the precision that they play with. That is extreme talent 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
extreme practice, but also a lot of talent yes :)
Yeah the reality is the Wooten family are all prophets of music
I'm sitting here sweating and I didn't play a note! Two of the COOLEST music guys I've ever met Regi and Victor!
Jesus, these guys aren't on another level, they are on another planet compared to most bass players. So fun to watch!
The Wootens _know_ how to put on a show!
Love Victor's tone here.
Normally I listen to hard and fast metal/rock music and I don’t know how this ended up in my feed but it did so I thought I’d give it a listen......and I’m glad I did! It’s gotta be said....absolutely stunning technique, precision and energy from all concerned! Really diggin the drummer, a total beast with the sticks, amazing time keeping!!
Funk and metal are really similiar when it comes to how they make you feel. Funk is ofc much more improvisational but both just want to make you move and dance. The groove is really important in both genres.
@@boyman7823 that’s all music
reggie and victor ur approach to music is fantastic i love watching use both play together and the bond use share as brother's i would love to see reggie aka the teacher play some bass thanks guy's for sharing ur knowledge and wisdom true giant's of the music industry thank u
Its Not hard at this point to see where Victor got all his crazy moves from. The love respect and sharing is more than a little obvious. I dont remember watching a single Interview where Victor didnt speak highly of how much his brother shared and taught him about being outside the box, Gos Blessing is very apparent here. I hope it rubs off on others that watch this video!! Never hold your brother back but lift him up!! God Bless all of you!!
Wooten brothers! Much love from Portland, OR.!!!
So cool that they are still doing this! I saw them way back in 2006(?) and they did this same thing, and i think it's the only time i've ever spontaneously danced.
LOVE YOU REGGIE... LOVE YOU BOTH SO DARN MUCH... YOU GUYS INSPIRE ALL OF US MUSICIANS TO TALE OUR LOVE FOR OUR INSTRUMENTS TO NEW LEVELS OF CREATIVITY... IM A 30+ YEAR BASS PLAYER AND I AM ABSOLUTELY AO GRATEFULL FOR MY GOD GIVEN TALENT... ITS MADE MY LIFE SO REWARDING...
The winer is: all of people listening to this because listening to this is a win
Saw them play in London. Hopefully they will do another tour after the pandemic!
Last week.. was a moment. 🙏🏽
To have them LIVE in South Australia 🎉🥳
I love them all.
What a bond they hold - on every level 🤍🎶 & that’s! what makes music our “ Universal Language” .
Feel the Spirit? I sure did!!!🕯️ in many ways..
& there will always be 5 Wooten brothers on stage.
Raspect ✝️🎶
I remember seeing them at the Rialto Theater in Tucson, AZ. They are simply amazing; I was just shaking my head like - how the hell... in awe.
Had the pleasure of taking bass lessons from Reggie in the 90s. Lessons I still use to this day! Phenomenal player and human being! Play Loud!
That is awesome! Taking lessons from Reggie? It can't get any better than that! Both him and Victor are strictly the best! These guys can really lay it down!
My internet connection just melted ;-) Love them to bits!
🤣
This is the best thing ever! Such amazing skill, used not to show of, but to express musical joy. Really brought a smile to my face. You guys are awesome!
If you’re not having fun, you’re not playing music.
And if you’re a listener and not having fun, then you’re not really listening. That takes some thinking about... if you think about it😄
After all the years the Wooten are still simply incredible!! Much love
You don’t even have to listen to it to feel it, you can just see the vibe. They could play the spoons and I’d be hyped.
True performance.
And still the best bass player,....mr Victor Wooooooooden
still? always.
I don't know who Victor Wooden is
@@sunnysideup5826 It's Wooten, not Wooden!

I saw these guys in Nashville at the Grape Vine cafe back in the 90's. OMG I still can't believe how amazing they are! Victor Wooten OWNS the bass guitar! Plus they are all sweethearts! Tell Joseph Priscilla says Hi! Much respect!
anything with the Wooten's (any of them) makes the hair on my neck stand up. how does someone get such emotion from an instrument. i swear my eyes well up every time.
I saw this live. This literally doesn't show how epic this was in the room.
Not just next level....more like next universe. Wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it.
I don't think I've ever seen a greater display of music in my entire life
Talent baby! Pure unadulterated talent!
Going through all those time signatures..... Freaking awesome!!!
You not only need to be crazy to play this - you have to be crazy to listen. I LOVE IT!!
This might be the first video on you tube that I've seen that had zero dislikes. You guys are just plain amazing.
You spoke to soon 5 dislike or haters

Talk about Goals fer an experiment. Human Nature responded like an infection again. Turns out, you can't have good stuff. The kids will wreck the furniture.
When reggie started beating the shit out of his bass, i knew this was gonna be different
I going play this for people that cant count. The look in their eyes says it all
I just bit my tongue 😛 this family is from another world
The way Victor plays he should go into politics.......he certainly appeals to his base!

THE WORLDS GREATEST MUSICIANS
I had the pleasure of first meeting Regi and Victor after a show at Buffalo State College back in 2008; and since then had a chance to chat with Victor and Roy after a few Flecktones shows. Regi, I remember that wild Lego guitar you played at that show. You cats are cats. Every single member of your family is a virtuoso!
I used to see them pretty regularly back in 92-94 in east TN Tri-Cities when I went to East TN State.. they were playing with Bela Fleck .. my guitar teacher was Jack Tottle.. (Fleck started out in his band back in the early80's)
Just brilliant this is what music is all about enjoying the jam,🎉
i LOVE GERAT MUSICIANS and MUSICIANSHIP! This was SICK!!!!!!!!
Genius, what a beautiful musician xD....!!! 😃🤩🤩🤩😀💪🍹💯
These brothers out of this world! Thank you brothers!
Watching the Wooten Brothers play together is probably one of the funniest, most enjoyable thing to watch 😁
The CGI is incredible! Almost looks real!
Excellent ! ! I love them...
Great Groove !
Great Beat !
Yeah....
Love the time signature countdown!!!!
Man they're just up there having a blast!! Love to see it!!
Amazing that I grew up in the same neighborhood as these guys!!!
And this was the first time they ever met or played an instrument. Imagine how good they are after practicing
Besides everything else ..you guys are really enjoying playing music...Big respect.⭐⭐⭐
I know it's just a youtube video, but I legit stood up and clapped when the video ended. Sweet niblets of thumping power.
Totally insane. I love you guys... and Larry at the end 😉❤️👍👍👍
Vic use to make feel feel garbage cause of how much of a monster he is on bass but now he is motivating me more.
Had a fantastic time with them at Victor's bass camp Go to any of his camps best buy in music eduction period
Totally awesome Regi and thanks!
Someday I hope to be as happy as Black guys look when they’re playing bass.
It’d be impossible to see a more insane bass and guitar performance like this anywhere on the planet. Impossible’
❤ l loved it, john
Europe is other world. Here in Spain no one knows thus guys, only knows techno and reggeton... we are lost in the time, decades ago... 😭😔
Half the folks in the USA speak Spanish, plan a trip if you can.
Imagine having 1 of this guys on your band 🤪
Legends!
Love the wooten brothers!
That is one fantastic family, all so talented!
Absoluuuuuuuttttttteeeeeely Fantastic
Love these guys! It’s been too long since I’ve seen victor live!
k, now I'll play this back and transcribe their solos....in an alternate universe of immortals lol--amazing! Thanks for posting.
Nothing beats doing something you love with family that loves it just as much as you do
I never seen that before. That's the kind of fun u have when u with family.
The best Bass King in the world Victor Wooten 👍 ❤️
What a special treat to see the Brothers Together
The Brothers were together, but we didn't "see them". Thank you, blind camera operator.
It makes me so happy that Regi did the Lone Ranger
Wow oh wow! The rocket just left the planet!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I have been lucky enough to see them many times when they played at 3rd and Lindsey (They have since began playing at Rudy's Jazz bar) and even when Victor is not in town they always have amazing talented musicians. I recorded a Thump off with Regi and Steve Forrest.

@@davidkemptn 3rd and Lindsey, They used to play every Wednesday night at 9:30 before they left there and started playing at Rudy's
Such a gifted family. You are blessed
Think of the names of some of the most revered musicians of all time. If you were alive when Bach, or Beethoven, or Mozart(s), or Miller were alive, it could takes weeks, months or more of travel to experience them with your own eyes or ears. Never take for granted that today we can press a few buttons and watch and hear the great Regi and Victor as if they were in our own living room. IT's All About The Bass! Just ask Haley.
Awesome! Greatest musicians ❤🎉
You guys are insane behind that instrument. Much love bros
Very talented Brothers!!!
And the winner is...
The audience!👍👍
If it was anyone else I would be impressed.
These dudes do this stuff so much that I come to expect this type of technical wizardry and defying of the laws of the physical universe.
my favorite performance of yours I've seen!
That bass flip killed me
Omg fantastic
I’m upset this doesn’t have more views...
Make me want to go and find the nearest river and throw my bass guitar in the deepest part. Reminds me of playing with my family.
Too dope! Too tight!!
What the heck was that? 😯
I'm having trouble trying to learn the C major scale..
My favorite family soul band the Wooten Four
If all goes well, I should see these guys in April. Going to be great!
The Wootens are like the funky real life version of The Darlings from The Andy Griffith Show. 👍
Reminds me of techniques by the late great Jimi Hendrix! Awesome job by Victor & Regi!
This one goes out to my brother !!!
