He is gasping for breath powerfully reaching for this song........taps emotion!
The man and his music are cut in the stone of the authentic western genre. It's been a slice Ian. I'm grateful that I was here to see it.
It takes a real Canadian cowboy to know the heart and soul of a "Saddle Bronc Girl" It takes a really good Canadian singer and song writer to put his heart and soul into singing her story
Son of a >>>>> look at what this guy is doing at 78. Any of us will be that lucky to be that inspired and motivated at that age. Bravo Ian, another classic.
Green grass and good horses Ian. Rest in peace.
A true legend!!! We love ❤️ you so much , Ian Tyson!
The Man can still write a damn fine song
That voice is Ian! A real cowboy artist!!
met Ian at the quarterrama in 72 and had a good time after the show with him joining in with his guitar an bales of hay for a good sing along, will always remember that time for the rest of my life
Amazing. Great song, love his winter whiskey voice. Not what it was but definitely still easy to listen to.
I would always listen to Ian with my dad when I was five when we were out riding or fixing the fences around our ranch. I as with my dad again and remembered of this, so we sat there for about 5 hours just listening to Ian and other country singers and talking about the ranch days... I miss those days a lot..
When I was a little girl an older friend gave me a bunch of Ian and Sylvia albums. I have, perhaps unfairly, judged since then every man's voice by Ian's. No one yet has measured up. While my heart breaks for The Voice I fell in love with that is no more the fact that he just keeps on trucking and singing even though he can hear himself it's nowhere near the same you can't help but have incredible respect for a man who just loves to sing and so does it anyway no matter how it sounds it sounds beautiful because it's ian
Been listening to Ian & Silva since the 1960's. Can't believe he is 80! and still punchin it out. The real deal - Ian lived the life he sings about - not a current wantabe rockin roll faker who never got closer to a bronc than the seat of his SUV.
To hear this man sing, after whatever tragedy befell his voice, is by far the most beautiful thing I have ever heard. My mom sang in a choir, and I never really understood the power of the human voice till I heard this song. Godspeed Sir Tyson, may I meet you someday and we will sing together in a beautiful place far away.
Very well said.
I just saw Ian in concert in Nanaimo BC, just 30 miles north of Duncan, British Columbia, where he was born and raised. Just Ian, with Lee and Gord, and they were slick, tight and Ian's voice is back and way stronger than in this song, after he had an operation. If you get the chance, go see him, he usually does most of his biggest hits, plus a great selection of newer and older songs.
Good cowboy music never gets old.. 👍

That is a beautiful song by Ian made for a beautiful saddle bronc rider named Kalia Mussell from B.C & a fb friend. ❤🤠🐴🔥🌹
@@mariabegaye4305 you got that right!👌🏾
Wonderful to see Ian keeps going with his spectacular talent. I have been an ardent fan since I first saw him live with Sylvia in 1962. He is a true Canadian National Treasure.
The true greats excel during times like this- because emotion must make up for the voice, and here he digs deep and tells the story the only time it will be sung with this much passion. Some reason I am relating to racing our 67's big blocks around town, "she was runnin strong tonite"
you gotta love the man who puts the western into country and western.
that song beautifully capture the whole sense of the seasonal job market in BC and Vancouver in the 70's
Ian's music kept me awake lots of nights, when I was running cost to coast in an 18 wheeler
He can write and sing. I wanna be a saddle bronc girl.
Any person that's ridden broncs knows that the young lady really deserves a song written about her daring and her abilities!
Great music; I think the jacket might be a carhartt. Happy to hear about Ian's operation. Looking forward to buying more of Ian's music. Wishing him all the best. RT
Ian is better than ever after his vocal cord surgery. I saw him in Pendleton 4 weeks ago, and I could listen every day...hey..I DO!!!!
2020 now....sad but the voice is gone...
@@alanwhitehead9272 ...and yet it matters not a wit...a true master of his craft 🌠
Another Classic, I love this guy!!!!
a great talent who continues to produce fantastic music.
Every incarnation of Ian Tyson is wonderful. He just goes with the flow and doesn't try to sound like he did in the old days. Ozzie; take note
It's on iTunes now but have to search by song title, not "Ian Tyson". Love Ian's smokey voice!!!
watched Lee play recently. He is crazy good. plays almost a flat guitar style effortlessly.Ian's voice has improved wonderfully...did 1 hour+ set in Portland
I was there!
I had an LP from Ian Tysan in 1985 in the GDR. I've loved his songs ever since
I volunteered at a music festival and had the "pleasure" of telling Ian Tyson we couldn't find his guitar. He is a very large man. lol It all turned out well, though, and Ian Tyson deserves serious respect for the way he handled it.
Where was his guitar?
@@thedevilsadvocate5210 It had been picked up by his roadie but nobody made a note of it.
I love listening to this song
Because of his raspy voice,
Very fitting for a cowboy
Who has truly lived the
Life most of us just wish
For or dream about.
That's enough to make an old bareback bronc rider melancholy, too. Ai!
I cant believe your 80 years old for me I couldn't do that your amazing keep it up
Great song and beautiful athlete of an underappreciated sport
Classic Ian...Please keep them coming. This is what country is. Thanks Ian!
I love this !! I read-up on Kayla Mussel--and I learned so much about her !! An example of how we can learn-through a song ! Way to go Kayla---and thank you so much "for everything" Ian !!

Please stop smoking, Ian. I don't want to remember your voice like that.

It kinda looks like a Schaefer mesquite ranch jacket but it is slightly different. Thanks for the tip I'll find it.Problem is anything good like that its up catching on and costing more than the average guy can afford. Merry Christmas to you and all Tyson fans.
that gravely voice is just as good as amazing...
Can anyone place where this video was taken….bone chilling!
He wrote the songs and he rode the horses.
nice to see he is still active in music
Great song! Could someone please tell me the chords being used? I realize it is capo 2 and what chords are they using? Thank you so much!
