Snakes of Wrath is great! It's like Dominoes meets Carcassonne - especially if you like trying to steal and get in on opponent's castles (In Carcassonne). It's casual, but it's tactical enough that the more skilled player will win more often than not. Also, it goes in the box just fine as long as you don't keep the tiles in the bag.
I agree, ending Waffle Time with no syrup is crazy hard, but I enjoyed the puzzle aspect of the game. There was some satisfying moves I pulled off, especially with the pattern card that moved syrup to other fruits.
I watched the HTP for Lata and it seems the Producing action is well done implemented. No confusing at all. Just a little puzzle on how you arrange your ingredients to maximize your production. But I don't know about the 1st player gaining huge benefit problem. I have to play it to know for sure. Love Cafe (their previous game), and definitely would love Lata.
We played Waffle Time at Grandcon this weekend, and I'd probably give it a 5. There was some ambiguity in the rules with how some of those goal cards score. 😖
I don’t think Hogs of War is primarily a 2 player game, but generally intended for 3-4 players as a fun free for all. Also FYI it is simulating a turn based game not an RTS
Yeah I didn’t think waffle time was stellar either. It’s simply an Ok game, I gave it a 7. True the blackberries are the easiest, but the bananas are pretty easy too. I enjoyed its puzzle aspect, and since I haven’t played a ton of puzzle games, I can see why I rated it higher than tom vasel. It was still a nice game to get for free in my AEG mystery package.
Waffle time is good. Sounds like you got some of the rules wrong reguarding scoring, those end of game cards can only be scored once, the points in this game are super low and that empty syrup jar can really make the difference! Its not like an amazing game or anything but defninately better than a 4, everyone I played it with enjoyed it.
Wrong! Buckwheat pancakes are the best. By far. Real maple syrup (preferably something you or someone you know has made themselves), butter (no margarin) and breakfast sausage. All else is a crude facility of a proper breakfast.
Thank you so much for reviewing our game, means a lot to us!

Snakes of Wrath looks like a great game to stick in a bag to take out somewhere with your partner to play on like a picnic table or the like
Yes. My wife an I love playing it at our favorite Cafè.

Snakes of Wrath is an incredibly fun game. I love it.
Great video

"...running the gambit..." hehe Not sure if you do these on purpose or not, Tom, but they always make me chuckle. :-)
It's a fairly common 'eggcorn'. 'Gamut' is a bit of an obscure word nowadays.
I'm so happy to hear Hogs of War was good. I loved the Playstation game!
The Perfect Wave seems like a game we would've loved back when we were young.
Bummer, cause Forest of Radgost’s aesthetic looks so awesome

That snake game is similar to a game I played as kid called Waterworks.

Love the production of Forest of Radgost and the mythology put into it, but agree that there's just not much game there.
Thanks for the review for Lata, I don’t need to seek it at Essen now
Ps1 Hogs of war is awesome!
At 2:44 it sounds like Tom says "woeful time" 😄
That's how he felt about playing the game!
Or Waffle Time was an awful time… I think it just looks really abstract.
Bummer…the Waffle Time production looks great - I feel like I could get my kids into a theme like that. I want it to be good 😢😜
Hey Tom, I would love for you to do a top ten mass market game list with Zee and Mike.. My wife and I love mass market games and yes I am serious.
Nawali instantly reminded me of a video game called Inscryption.
I'm disappointed the Forest of Radgost provides some great mythology and art but not much game. Maybe it's best value is as a fantasy RPG supplement?
I think that probably would be. Also the minis are fun to paint. :)
Gamut, not Gambit… although he is an awesome superhero!

Woffle
I love waffles. Too bad.

Backed Forest of Radgost but haven't had a chance to play it yet so this is pretty disappointing to hear.
Looks like the perfect wave is a trick taking game...
Crepes > French Toast > Pancakes > Waffles
Heresy
Crêpes > Waffles > French Toast > Pancakes for me!
French toast is king for me. I'm also odd in that I don't like crepes 😅
What about Dutch babies?
We don't eat babies, regardless of nationality! 😋
Less haters, more taters.
