Wat? He head-on'ed a semi out of his own negligence while driving illegally. It would be a miracle if he weren't seriously injured, nor would a reasonable person feel any sympathy for him in court.
@JonBrase He glanced off the rig....if he hit that truck head on, he would most likely not have been in the courtroom.

His license was suspended because they wanted to prevent accidents like this happening. He not only drove with a suspended license, he drove exactly what got his license suspended in the first place. This means he learned nothing from the suspension and so should receive a much harsher punishment.

“Traffic accidents happen everyday” is supposed to excuse him from destroying one car, trying to flee on a bridge and forcing a woman in a semi over the edge. Nice, dude.
The car was stalled on the bridge. That was not his fault. Driving without a license was.
although it is true it does happen everyday BUTT it can also be seirious
his lawyer has to do his job so I don't blame him for doing what he is supposed. Everyone is entitled to a lawyer and their day in court. However, he was reckless in his driving, was driving on a suspended license for this behavior, so it is clear he didn't learn anything and deserves to face harsher punishment than what the lawyer is trying to get for him.
That's just the words he says to get paid. He's a lawyer. His job is to get the perspective where his client is coming off as good as possible. If you leave out all the negative stuff about the driver and just focus on what doesn't make him look bad. It will be a traffic accident with no serious injuries.
@@kekke2000Define serious injuries... I am sure the prosecution will have the truck driver on the stand talking about her therapy sessions and lost employment opportunities from the PTSD dangling over a bridge unsure if you are going to die.
The guy hit a goddamn parked car on a straight away, while driving like an asshole(speeding, frequent lane changes on a bridge) on a suspended license, and with a pending charge of driving on a suspended license cause the entire incident yet people are trying to defend this piece of shit? This world is broken.
Finally someone with actual sense!
How do you no he was switching lanes and driving reckless??? You don’t he was traveling and didn’t realize there was a car stalled that had no hazard and swerved, it’s a fucking traffic accidents, he wasn’t drunk and look there trying to ruin a man’s life over a traffic accident 😂😂 pathetic, your comment is not irrelevant bc you dunno how he was driving
Not only did he hit a disabled vehicle (with no functioning hazard lights) it looks like he had to cut around to other slow moving or non moving vehicles to do so. Really, though, we're missing 2 crucial seconds prior to his impact with that disabled vehicle. Was he simply to far right of center, or did he actively attempt to enter the right hand lane after the two stopped vehicles and hit the third?
I can understand if he was just a bit too far right - those lanes look scary narrow and I'd tend to ease right, myself, when facing an oncoming semi with only two yellow lines separating us, though I'd be a great deal more alert as to why those other two cars were stopped.
I hate people who drive like idiots
Not to mention he looks like H3H3

That is very simplistic and childish reasoning.
If we had literally any other options, a lot of us wouldn't be driving. We are all forced to drive everywhere. It's how this country is designed. Bike lanes are extremely dangerous or non-existent, sidewalks are inconsistent (or also non-existant), and public transportation is unreliable (or again, non-existant). @@MrTrevortxeartxe Most people with suspended licenses have them because they are bad people and broke the law. The real reason people even lose their license, generally, is because of lawbreaking.

@@antelopic had the same questions. Guess she was on autopilot while resting her head on her arm.
Well having said that. What do you think about her being in that lane? That bridge is narrow and not an area for passing. So why was she in that lane? @@jasonwagner6523...I agree with you on this. Speed limit of 35, that semi driver wasn't looking far enough ahead ... Did she see the stalled vehicle? If so, why didnt she anticipate cars would try to get around it? She didn't see the possibilities. I drove OTR for 18 years. I'm not assigning blame on her, BUT, I believe she contributed to the severity. That being said, the dude in the pickup is in some SERIOUS TROUBLE.
@@johnpendley5263 that is not how air brakes work. When the lines are disconnected the brakes apply. That is how when they disconnect a trailer from the tractor the trailer doesn’t roll away. Air pressure is needed to release the brakes and allow the wheels to roll. No hate here, just information 😊
@@jasonwagner6523 I want to say a SEMI TRUCK has a lot of inertia, even at 35 mph. A truck driver can slam the brakes but they'll keep going forward and probably end up causing their trailer to tip or something. It should be common sense that you just don't mess with trucks on the road .
The fact that he willingly drove with a suspended license should tell everyone that he’s not to be trusted and needs to be locked up for life.
That's ridiculous.
You should not lose your freedom forever for something as small as driving while suspended. Calm down and get off the internet for a bit, you need some rest.
Life sentences can be given for drunk driving cases that causes death.
@@unknown-xf4ko Ok? Was he drunk? No one died or was seriously injured.
I think locked up for life is a bit heavy, but he should not have a driver's license for the rest of his life, and every violation should come with increasing periods of jail time. He could certainly get to life in jail that way, if he continues in his stupid ways, but that would be his own doing.
it wasn't just a "traffic accident." He shouldn't have been driving in the first place!
Why are cars parked on the bridge?
Lol...
His lawyer must of said, today we will try using a wheelchair
💯
😂😂😂😂😂
Wow I can’t believe that lawyer said it was just a regular accident 🤬🤬.
That’s his job to defend even if the person is guilty he is trying to lower the sentence of the guy
@saitama9529 yes but is disgusting what they say. You can defend without sounding like a 💩.
@ginijasso The lawyer is doing their job, doesn't matter if you're a good, bad, evil, or a nice person, you got to protect yourself. Imagine if the amendment didn't exists, then there's gonna be a lot of people locked in the system with little help.
She could have so easily died. He should be in prison.
If he hit that first car and then continued driving and hit the semi… isn’t that technically a hit and run? Considering his record I don’t believe he intended to stop at all but was forced to by the semi
I would assume that he lost control of the vehicle to go into the other lane like that. It’s the driving without a license part that’s the issue.
I don't like the smug defense attorney who made it look like a simple accident. The driver of the semi truck could've lost their life. So glad the truck didn't plummet into the water with her in it and she got out safely.
why dont truck's have RUN FLAT TIRES on their steering tires??? seems any blowout or flat in front, BANG!!! CANT STEER AND CRASH.
It was a vehicle accident. Her plummeting to the water is the result of the bridge having zero protection. There’s not even a concrete barrier between opposing traffic lanes. This incident was bound to happen sooner or later on this bridge.
It's not an accident, it's a collision. Propaganda got everyone thinking backwards.
He watched from his wheel chair that he got just before he came into court by any chance?
He got it from goodwill bro
Sysco is like so are you going to finish your deliveries today?
What makes this worse is he consciously drove knowing his license was suspended. This makes him a piece of cr*p. He needs jail time and be held responsible for the trauma endured by the driver, all property damage from the truck and other vehicles, repair of the bridge and the cost of the rescue efforts
Its people on Instagram trying to justify his actions. They really was trying to blame the truck driver
It's only because he's a man, and the semi driver a woman. Had they both been men, the majority would be blaming the pickup. But because the semi driver was a woman, she's automatically at fault while they defend him. It's scary how people think.
@@sallyj632 No, hes at fault. However she should never have been in that lane in a semi on that bridge. She made it dangerous for herself leaving no margin of error. Coming from a truck driver.
@@lloydchristmas1086 I'm trying to find what the rule says in regards to bridges and semis being in the left lane. Can't seem to find a solid answer. I understand semis are told to keep right on the highway(not a bridge), unless they are passing a slower vehicle. This is mainly due to their massive blind spots on their right, so I get that. However, this bridge has a limit of 35mph, which is what she was doing. She was doing the max speed already on that bridge. Perhaps she was intending to pass once she finished crossing, and the speed limit bumped back up?? I've done that before on bridges (not in a semi, just a regular vehicle) - keep at 35/40mph until I finish crossing. Then I pick it back up once we're beyond the bridge. Oh, and one more thing to note, on the Indiana side of this bridge those 2 lanes are originally separated (meaning they're not side by side until you're on the bridge). Who's to say she didn't enter the bridge from the left hand lane to begin with? If she entered via the right hand lane, I'd agree. But if she entered via the left hand lane, wouldn't it make sense for her to keep the left lane until she passes whoever entered on the right?
Really? He shouldn't have been driving in the first place considering his suspended license...what is there to justify lol damn some people are brainless.
@@lloydchristmas1086You're lost. That is the bridge to use to get to the KFC yum center, the baseball stadium, all of central downtown Louisville. Clearly you driving a truck doesn't allow you the expertise to keep your mouth shut when you don't know what you're talking about. I'm glad you don't drive that route.
man I'd be scared as hell to drive again after that 😮
While hanging there for dear life I'm pretty sure prayers were said.
the guy? yeah, he will be fine
@@user-dw8mj8tb2l the gal that was hanging off the bridge by a thread.
I know lawyers are supposed to advocate for their clients, but imagine trying to spin this into just any other fender bender where nobody got hurt. I imagine if he was given the chance to hang over the side of a bridge for an hour not knowing if he was going to fall to his death he might not feel the same about the impact this accident had on all those involved
I don’t understand people who doesn’t drive while driving.
You do not miss a still standing car with hazard blinks on, if you are paying attention to the road…. 🤦🏼♀️
Wow that’s a scary bridge to be hanging like that off of… well any bridge prolly is, but i personally know how high up that one is, and omg. Hope everybody was ok after this!! Very scary moment.
Just out of curiosity what is the drop?
Poor design to have nowhere for stalled vehicles to go
It’s a bridge going over a large river. It’s probably less than .01% of road infrastructure within 1000s of miles. The chance of it happening on there was super slim. It’s a bridge ma’am, not a ten lane freeway. The stupidity of some people on here.
Suspended license and driving like that, and they let go on bond? WTF that lady will never be the same and that’s a slap in the face.
Not "just a traffic accident" on TV. The truck driver would have been killed if the cab hit the water. And it took like 40 minutes to rescue her? That would have been terrifying for her. Far worse than a typical accident, and it was caused by reckless driving. It was very close to vehicular manslaughter, and it had arguably equivalent or worse of an impact on the victim. As if her "final moments" were prolonged for 40 minutes. That makes it worse.
Suspended license, trying to flee from one accident and causing another accident. 10 years plus is what I see.
Mandatory 5 years in prison for causing an accident while driving on suspension . Cause a fatality? Life in prison. No parole.
The lawyer defending him must know how ridiculous his statement sounds like
That 5th wheel deserves some credit for holding onto that tractor
Why are there parked cars on a bridge? That seems like a recipe for disaster.
Stalled car
I guess it was stalled, but yeah and as someone who’s driven that bridge while traveling a few times now, I hate that bridge. It’s so narrow. It’s definitely one of the more sketchier parts of my journeys. I rank it a “6” and for reference, I rank driving through mountains along side brainless interstate drivers who don’t understand proper braking with slopes a solid “10”.
It was an EV that ran out of power and couldn't even flash hazard lights because of it. Don't forget, they want these vehicles to be the only vehicles on the road in less than 10 years.
@@Epic_C You're right! The woman was bringing the car home after picking it up from the dealership, she was heading to the nearest charger which was within the car's projected "mileage remaining" range when it just turned off on her.
I'm pretty sure she bought the car that day, which is why she was on her way home from the dealership, but don't quote me on that, it might have been in for service.
@@Epic_Cthat car should be investigated if it was an appropriate stop and charged too, a lot of people would run out of power if we all had them
It was just an accident and they happen everyday. Ah-No! Weaving in and out of traffic, speeding, hitting one car then head on into the semi truck, sending it over the bridge. Yes, accidents happen everyday, however not like this. Lucky for the semi truck driver the truck did not fall all the way into the water. Who cares if this was on the news. What do you expect? If he had not been driving recklessly, this would have not happened. The suffering of the semi driver and the damage to the bridge is serious.
Plus the moron was driving with a suspended license.
Being in a wheelchair, slouching with a vacant look in his eyes shows what a sociopath he is.
How dare that lawyer even think of dismissing this as a basic traffic accident. NO intentional accident should ever be dismissed as basic, normal, happens all the time. This poor woman is now scarred by the trauma of this. He needs to be sent to prison for a long time.
Jail time he deserves, but calling in an intentional accident is dipshit.
You just claimed he intentionally hit a car on the side of the road.
And no intentionally driving without a license and having an accident, does not make the accident itself intentional.
Damn, the common sense of people in this world is going to hell in a handbasket.
Question: why was his license suspended in the first place?
I'm just asking here: if the semi is hit on the left front , why did it veer left ?? Applying brakes and keeping it steering straight would have avoided crossing into the opposite lane, correct ???
She likely steered right in an attempt to avoid the collision and then over-corrected to the left.
She was driving with one had. Likely the impact knocked the wheel out of her hand and she panicked
Driver was bored and inattentive with one hand on the wheel and the other leaned behind her head and on the door. Simple braking needed but her foot probably slipped and hit the accelerator because of her side goggling posture.
if you see the full dashcam on the other video, you can see that she tried to turn right but the semi kept going left. im suspecting that the steering was damaged the moment it was hit by the oncoming truck.
The driver's side steer wheel was struck and broke from the semi. No amount of steering right will keep you going straight. It will naturally veer left with a broken left side steer wheel.
I bet with todays justice system, they will drop the first charge and just give him driving with a suspended license charge. Horrible
Isn’t Ukraine for freedom and democracy! Aren’t you supposed to be supporting this? Not the single mom who sucked at driving and almost killed herself. Fetching at straws in the black community
Fetching at straws 😂
STRAW FETCHER!!! Scarecrow!!!

Imagine all those cars driving in basically a slowdown and NOT hitting that downed vehicle yet this guy basically proves why he shouldn’t be behind the wheel of a vehicle
very crazy to watch
*Dollars to donuts this poster child for maturity, responsibility & good decisions got in another vehicle & was driving before the sunset on the day he was released*
He has this look on his face like, “please hurry up cause Idgaf and I need a nap”. Can you imagine the PTSD the driver might have?
That guy needs a minimum 2 years plus one day in prison with a 10 year drivers license prohibition.
That would have been terrifying
Why are there cars parked on a bridge ?
The parked cars were probably involved in a minor bumper to bumper collision moments before.
I can’t even imagine how terrified that semi-truck driver must have been. I was evacuated from a roller coaster many, many moons ago, which was terrifying.
That defense attorney should be disbarred just because of how ridiculous his stance sound. That man should be in prison for no less than 10 years. His actions justifies this.
