  • In this video I am showing you my method for organization when I break down a sewing machine. This happens to be a Singer featherweight that I bought in disrepair and am currently painting and restoring.
I hope this helps someone move forward and try this process themselves. I know sometimes apprehension may stop us from trying new things but I know you can do this if you want to.
Thanks so much for watching. BE well. Sew Terie

Great organization ideas! My husband restores classic cars and he also uses the zipper top bags with labels. He usually has them filed with hanging file folders in a smaller file holder. He usually has and manuals or paperwork stored in the same box.

All awesome ideas. It is rough when you mix things up and try to figure out where it goes. Restoring classic cars,,, hm. I wish I had a garage to do that. Also, I would like a vintage car!! lol
Thanks so much for watching. I do appreciate it.

Hi Teri! Great organizing. It’s going to drive me crazy wondering what the 4 quarters and dime are for. Keep up the great work. I have been keeping an eye out for a feather weight. Right now, I’m working on a 66 1/4/6. It could be a 66-1, 66-4, or a 66-6. There are parts for all three models coming out of the machine, so I don’t know which it is, or maybe I will need to switch out some parts to get it to work . I am still looking for a motor, a couple of hard to find parts, and the wiring to set up the foot peddle to the motor. This is so much fun! I will try to put some pictures or something up soon.

Tracy, I am so happy you are going for it. Are you saying your machine is from 1906? Is it a 66 with red eye decals? Please share and tag me. If it is from 06 it is most likely a 66 -1. Mine is from 1919 and is a 66 -1. So much info out there though. Try the 66 and 99 FB group. They can help. Have fun searching for parts. That is part of the journey Miss Journey!! If I can help, please reach out. I hope you have adjuster's manuals? LMK.
Thanks so much for watching. So happy for you. Be well.

@@sewterie I have a Red Eye, but the one I am working on has the Singer filigree decal. It was made in 1925. I will put something together to share so you can see what I'm talking about. ❤

This is the set I was using in the video. www.amazon.com/Egofine-Ratchet-Extension
There are many out there like the CHAPMAN RATCHET SET. Much stronger but what I used worked fine.
Thanks for watching. I hope you are doing well Glenda.

What is that white thing it was on the right side of my screen. I know I use a dime to tighten up screws now the quarters I'm guessing at this do you use them to hold something level ?

Hi Nancy, I think you may have been looking at the base of my lamp??? And yes, you can use a dime for a few of the screws on a machine but that is not what I use them for. Excellent guess (who, Nancy?) lol Thanks for watching and I will wait before I explain that one. Maybe with a video. Be well.
