Try is on a small project so you get the knack of it. I don't even think about it anymore, as you saw in the video. Hi there. The first piece it pretty much the shape of the "A" piece with a 1/4 border around it for the seam allowance. You can trace that middle piece of each section then add a 1/4 inch around it using your ruler. That should give you an accurate first piece. Then, attach it either with a pin or with a dab of glue like I did. It helps if you add a quick shot of heat from your iron, but don't overdo the glue. It is not needed, especially if you plan on sewing thru your paper as traditional FPP is done. I hope it helps. Please let me know. And I thank you for your question. Reach out again if you need to. Hi Lori. So your first piece, I anchor it to the paper with the glue. This piece and only this piece goes right side facing out. SO you are putting the wrong side of the paper to the wrong side of the fabric. The next piece, you place right sides together with the first piece. Just like a quilt block, you put the right sides of the fabric together before you sew. If you need any help, please reach out. Next time I will use printed fabric.
