Hi All - As many have already noticed, apparently I grabbed and we recorded the standard J-45 for the final demo portion instead of the Keb Mo signature. Sincerely apologize for the oversight - working on the fix and will certainly try to avoid such an embarrassing mistake in the future . . . Ugh . . . Thanks as always for watching and for your patience with our inevitable fumbles! (Update - we've cut the demo portion at the end with the wrong guitar. Video "fixed", but the shame remains . . .)
It's ok, Quinton...you're allowed a mistake or two 👍 Thanks for you diligent work.
No shame in your game, Mr. King. You make them all sound right.
I’d like to hear the Martin 00-17 Authentic 12 fret
And the thumbnail?
And the thumbnail?
"I don't know what I got for blues" and then pulls that out of his back pocket! Great review! Love these videos and Quinton's playing!
Perfect demo for that guitar. Lot of projection!
So nice. Would love that.
Awesome guitar. Way back when, the Keb Mo Bluesmaster was one of the best guitars I've ever played.
I used to have the Martin HD28 Keb Mo - rare as rocking horse shit
Blues Power!!! great sounding and unique Gibson! I want one:)
WOW.....Mr. King just blistered that gorgeous thing....LOVE IT!!!
@Darell_Braun reach out ?
That’s some guitar! Wow!
I’m delighted and honored to have one of those small blues masters which is sonically terrific and the perfect couch guitar for me.
But this is really something!
I also have an Sheryl Crow SJ, which to me sounds like the Steinway Grand Piano of all guitars. Maybe because it’s even wider than an old J-45 from the Centennial series from ‘94 which sounds as dry as woody.
I’d probably swap the SJ for this slightly smaller Keb Mo.
I couldn’t justify another Jumbo, could I?
That’s gonna be a tough hunt…
Cheers from the woods from Germany.
Mind reasonably blown... Never heard that the AJ was smaller than the 45! As always, QK, Great playing!
Beautiful sound!
Gibson should come out with a Quentin King signature model. They’d fly off the shelves! 😊
Great video! Interesting guitar. Quentin is definitely playing a different guitar on the outro clip. Looks like a standard j45?
Apologies, we're working on a fix for that right now.
@@musicvilladotcom I really cant complain, Quinton playing some tasty licks on a J45 is always a pleasure to watch.
@@musicvilladotcom Video seems ok now, but as of 2/15/23 the thumbnail is still a 14-fret. Not trying to quibble, just a heads up.
sweet guitar, the only thing I would have changed is a rectangle bridge instead of a standard one.
"This thing has a lot of things". "This thing is cool". Thanks, I'll buy it.
Nice guitar. I'm glad I already have plenty of mahogany guitars but I'd love to play one of these at least once.
Quentin: “I don’t know what I got for blues.” Proceeds to wail the most killer blues riffage 😂
Great sounding Gibson!
I though the AJ was different bracing. Forward shifted but still same body size. The j35 has the AJ bracing also
The two guitars I own, a Keb mo signature (original) and an AJ. Not sure I’d need a hybrid of both, but would love to try one!
Looks like a Martin 1931 00-17 Authentic hanging on the wall behind you guys! I have one (mine's a lefty, believe it or not!) They're wonderful! The Keb' Mo 3.0 is pretty cool, too.
@Darell_Braun reach out...how?
the soloing at the tail end of the vid has a different 14 fret version. wha' happen'???
Great playing I’m not sure I’d like the thinner body and I think I’d like Adirondack on mine, but Quinton is the man we all like ❤
"Quinton" folks (not related or affiliated with "San Quentin" CDC!)🙂
;- )
Maybe more bass than an LG? Sounds good. BTW the 25 inch scale is a short scale for Bourgeois. Thanks, Paul and Quinton.
I have a 2006 J-45 I found at a garage sale about 3 years ago. An unbelievable guitar that I would have never even considered if it wasn’t for this find. My question is, where does the J-160E fit in with the Gibson body sizing? Same as the J-45, AJ, or something else entirely? Keep up the great work on the videos. Thanks!
I noticed that the bridge is the right way round (for my eyes) . It looks strange with the bridge the other way on a normal j45. Dean 🇬🇧 🙏
Why play a standard J45 at the end?
Different guitar 🎸
Best wishes Dean 🇬🇧
Interesting guitar. You two are enjoyable to watch. Great commentary and playing. Toured Gibson Bozeman late 90's. Own a Songwriter, very nice.
The bridge is reversed - back to a "regular" position.
Quinton is not playing the same guitar you just reviewed; He's playing a J-45 Standard ...!(?)
Apologies, we're working on a fix for that right now.
Serious omission on critiquing the action, intonation, bracing, thickness of finish and most importantly the NECK PROFILE.
12-fret guitars are better - better sound and geometry.
Probably a decent guitar, but the nose bleed premium price ($4k+) that comes with Gibson "signature" models interests me not.
I don't get all the positive comments. 5:00 minutes of "Ummm", "you know" and "yeah". They say "The AJ body is smaller", but they don't say how much. It's thinner, but they don't give the width. Amongst the umms and yeahs is an Andre Segovia story that goes nowhere. There is some fine playing, but not much. Considering that this is a guitar review, 32 seconds of the sound is an underwhelming sample. And then they finish off with the wrong guitar in the original version. How do you play the wrong guitar in a review video?
