The thing is, kang is technically not at his peak in the movie. More powerful than anyone else in the quantum realm. But less powerful than his normal self. Other kangs had to gang up on him to banish him. That says a lot. He’s beaten the avengers in multiple timelines. Shattered literal planets. Him not using telekinesis on antman in the final battle is strictly plot so they can give them a chance to win. May also be harder to do on larger or smaller characters he can’t track as easily. I’d wager that kang could take out Thanos more often than not. Especially if he has tech comparable to he who remains
I think it really depends on if Kang lets his greed and anger consume him because while anger can be a great source of power he can get corrupted by his temper easily as shown in the final fight in Quantumania which leads to him messing up

Both Kang and Thanos are completely different villains. Thanos is like a old mythological type of villain whereas Kang is a futuristic sci-fi villain. Thanos is a gigantic alien titan from deep space who mostly uses his brute strength whereas Kang is just a human from the future who is completely depended on his technology. Both are completely different.
For clarifications sake, each of the timeliness that Kang conquered or destroyed was its own universe with its own heroes and villains who probably didn't want to die. For every Thor he killed, he probably had to kill a Loki, a Gor, an Ultron, and a Thanos too.

What I find so unique about Kang is how different of a threat he is compared to Thanos. While Thanos was a man of his word and kept his promises and what he would do and being straight forward about everything (ex: Him sparing Tony for the Time Stone, and him being upfront about destroying the Infinity Stones), Kang seems to be extremely manipulative and feeds off his victim’s emotions and heartstrings while also not delivering on his promises and not holding his end of the bargain once he gets what he wants (ex: Him making the deal with Scott to get his power core in exchange for Cassie’s life, but when he got what he wanted, he still planned on killing not only Cassie but the rest of the group as well), which having that morality is truly terrifying of within itself.
Thanos is stronger physically but Kang has access to better tech. That’s if we’re going off their movie versions which I feel like Kang could win since he’s a Nexus being like Wanda and he’s basically a walking Time Stone.

The fact that he not only manipulated timelines for certain events to occur, like the one in endgame, but DESTROYED them to either escape to different ones, influence more timelines or both alone proves he’s more than a handful for Thanny. Its not even a "multiversal crossover" like when Topher Grace and Toby Mcguire versions of Spider Man were in the current marvel universe in one movie or Patrick Stewart reprising his role as Dr. Xavier of the X men in MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS. We even saw a glimpse of what killed thanos and how he died. I definitely think with Kangs inventory he could stop and beat Thanos. Kang does have telekinesis, he could just take or throw the double edged sword right through thanos. Kang in the movie can alter time, he could freeze Thanos and use the telekinesis to take and throw the sword right through him. He could lift up Thanos with one hand and take the sword from the other and YEET the sword. The lasers were most likely a lot of movie logic. Because they weren’t just going to vaporize our heroes. It wouldn’t made for a fun fight scene. And who knows how powerful the telekinesis really is like could it actually break Thanos? Without movie logic could the lasers actually vaporize Thanos? Thanos might be one of the best villains in Cinema period not just the MCU, Kang has a long way to go but he has potential
Thanos gives emotional impact but Kang feels like a generic and whiny villain like Kylo Ren from the dumb sequel trilogy, or Malekith from Thor dark world.
If Kant used telekinesis at the end of the movie, the movie woulda fell flat.

Thank you very much, DanCo, Kang may have the technology, weaponry and brains here but ultimately he is still no where on Thanos' level in terms of strength, durability, greater fighting skills and raw power. In the comics Kang stated that he fears Thanos for a reason.

I want TWO different discussions:
1. Who would win if they flat out FOUGHT each other, who is more powerful or durable or better fighter that kind of thing and...
2. Who is SMARTER and MORE CLEVER and the better STRATEGIST and who has more resources available to them for domination, so who would win in a long term conflict utilizing all of their "allies" and "resources". It is not necessarily the same answer between those 2 (but could be).
Kang is powerful and Dangerous, but we need to see more of what he can do. Thanos wins. But this fight has happened differently in the comics.

Thanos and Kang are in the EXACT SAME FICTIONAL UNIVERSE TOGETHER. Its not even a "multiversal crossover" like when Topher Grace and Toby Mcguire versions of Spider Man were in the current marvel universe in one movie or Patrick Stewart reprising his role as Dr. Xavier of the X men in MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS.
Now so far (and they probably won't) these 2 villains have not gone against each other but I would really like to have OTHER FICTIONAL UNIVERSES compared in these clips. Can we have more "Kang's" vs someone else? The character goes way back in comic books and other media but this (I think) is his first representation on the BIG MOVIE SCREEN so in that specific sense he is a VERY NEW CHARACTER.

Don't forget that in Doctor strange Multiverse of madness, a variant of doctor strange faced thanos in a 1v1 and killed thanos. He was by himself with no support from other superhero. We even saw a glimpse of what killed thanos and how he died. I am not doubting that thanos would win against all superheros in close quarters however, some of the powers that superheroes have just completely outmatch what thanos is capable of.

It is unquestionable Thanos is strong but I would argue the Avengers fought him incorrectly. The combination of the Scarlet Witch and Thor w/ Storm Breaker could take Thanos in a matter of seconds.

I definitely think with Kangs inventory he could stop and beat Thanos. Kang does have telekinesis, he could just take or throw the double edged sword right through thanos. Kang in the movie can alter time, he could freeze Thanos and use the telekinesis to take and throw the sword right through him. He could lift up Thanos with one hand and take the sword from the other and YEET the sword. The lasers were most likely a lot of movie logic. Because they weren’t just going to vaporize our heroes. It wouldn’t made for a fun fight scene. And who knows how powerful the telekinesis really is like could it actually break Thanos? Without movie logic could the lasers actually vaporize Thanos? I definitely don’t think right away. Not to mention if you add Thanos’s Uru armor as well. Regardless, I think Kang would know how to beat Thanos…
Thanos has telekinesis also. Most people base their opinions off what they see in the MCU. That Thanos is underpowered alot. Thanos with no IG fought Odin and Galactus, did well and walked away from it. The best version of Kang vs the best version of Thanos, I'll pick Thanos every time. IG Thanos was probably the weakest version of Thanos before he really came into power.
