It’s not just the Chinese ambience in old town Phuket, but it’s the real Chinese neighborhood because in the bygone years, the Chinese immigrated to Phuket as traders, miners (Tin) and rubber plantations.
Im a recent subscriber but I have to say, i am VERY much hooked on your videos! Not only is the content spectacular, but the smooth editing really takes it to another level. Better than any High Budget production ive seen on the TV. Keep up the good work. You truly inspire the travel bug inside of me :)
Thank you for taking us along. You two Are always so fun to watch, Being so pleasant and positive with each other. You are a breath of fresh air! Thank you!
I've been watching your videos since you were in Thailand the first time. I am half Thai, and I must say that I am so impressed with the few phrases you have been using in the videos. What is most impressive is your effort to use the right tones and inflections. Keep up the great work. I love watching the two of you explore the world.
I remember us visiting Big Buddha when it was under construction back in 2007. The 'whirls' on Buddha's head are absolutely massive close up - they were sculpted and lying on the ground awaiting being lifted into place when we were there and we paid towards one to be dedicated to lost friends and family. Lovely to see it completed in your video. I hope that sometime you manage to be in Phuket for the Vegetarian Festival. We've had many holidays (over 12) there and the Festival is not to be missed! At some point or another. Then we found Koh Samui and fell in love with a place all over again.
Oh wow that sounds like such a cool experience! What a full circle moment to see it completed! 😍 Oh yes Samui is one of our favourites too, such a gorgeous place! We will have to make sure we line an upcoming visit with the vegetarian festival because that sounds perfect!’
Always thoroughly enjoy your travel vlogs. These boutique phuket coffee shops are so unique, I personally would like to know more about the owners heritage or perhaps their business plan
Welcome to Phuket Adriana and Dylan. There are lots to explore. Amazing beaches and Thai cuisines and not forgetting Old Town Phuket which is closed to traffic every Sunday as the roads turned into a night market. Chalong Bay and Rawai offers the freshest and succulent seafoods. Can be pricey though. Enjoy your stay. Have fun!
How could you turn Phuket to be so optimistic and I could feel so much fun wit you both through especially the old town. I shall go back there trying the way you did. Never thought Phuket would be positively such change. I’m Thai and I used to feel myself as a minority down there but you’ve just improved my perspective over this destination in a way. Thanks so much for this. You both are lovely!!!
Best vloggers I always look forward to watching my favourite travel show (you should be a Netflix travel series honestly you guys give the best information and are always so helpful if asked advice. Have a great week.
Adriana you look amazing: healthy, happy and gorgeous (''ill have what she is having"). Dylan, wondering if you can get a waterproof lot of bandages- that way it doesn't matter if you get them wet. You are also looking happy and well despite the injury. Loving your vlogs so much!
Looks like a great fun day you've had in Phuket, except for that injury Dylan had on his finger . . . But having Adriana on his side to take care of it, there's nothing really to worry about. . .
Ohhh Adriana & Dylan….. sure remember the one time you both wore a top that matched the color scheme of a dessert 🍨 place in Bangkok 😂 Dylan- your Thai has improved and I’m very impressed! Thanks for sharing this video 😊
In the past, Chinese people migrated from China to Singapore, Malaysia, and the southern part of Thailand including Phuket. There is also Peranakan. That is why you can see Chinese Peranakan-inspired architecture, arts, and food.
Did you encounter any issues on the motorbike? I have heard there are multiple police stops all along Phuket. I am thinking of grabbing a Grab app jacket somewhere to camouflage because I am reading that an IDP is not enough
IDP is definitely enough. We didn't get stopped in Phuket but we were stopped almost daily in Chiang Mai. As long as you have a valid (and correct) IDP then it shouldn't be a problem. I'm surprised to hear that people have suggested it's not enough... perhaps they weren't wearing a helmet? That will get you fines, too!
Great vlog as always guys. I will return to Phuket, maybe next February 😎 I’m also planning a trip to Riga in Latvia, I’m sure you guys made a you tube vlog, has it been deleted ? Many thanks
Ratri hotel is very good, I like the place too. Also suggest another dessert place 'Tai Pan' just at the roundabout of Phuket Old Town. Please try the black-sesame bua loy :) For your later days, I recommend a hotel called 'Katathani Beach Resort'. It's on Kata Noi beach, south-west of the island. It's quite expensive hotel, but you will love it. Long white sand beach, blue water, great atmosphere. You can even see the back of the big buddha while swimming in the sea (face toward hotel from the water, look up to the left) !!
Very Good Video tip 1 if your going to Rent a Bike or Jetski in Thailand or Philippines Take Photos when you first hire them and let them see you do it Video is better and when you give them back and let them see you it will save you in the end tip 2 get a VPN tip 3 get Travel & Medical insurance
That hot dessert you had is similar to what we have here in the Philippines which is called ginataang bilo bilo. Hope you get to try it if ever you come back here.😊💜
I must admit I hated condensed milk ( Connie Onnie) when I was at sea, fresh milk was bought onboard at every port but when we were at sea for 6 weeks, we had no alternative. Strangely enough I tried it a few months ago and the memories of my Merchant Navy days come flooding back, my ‘madeleine moment’ if you know what I mean🫣
Agree but I think Pattaya is worse where sleaze is everywhere. For those not used to such ritzy lifestyle, it is certainly an eye opener. Be careful with where you go and who you meet.
A long time ago, Soi Romanee was the red-light street of Phuket town, where one would find brothels, opium dens, gambling houses and other similar ‘innocent’ entertainments. It was used by the Chinese labourers who came to work the tin mines.
