escaping from problems was a major source of my boozing. The issue with that lies in the fact your problems are still there when you come to. Going on 6 months sober, looking to remain that way.

When you are drunk, you are extremely unhappy and not aware of your actions because Achohol turns you in a devil. I understand Brad Pitt i went through something similar but not that extreme. I am glad he had an "awakening". Because it helped him towards the path he is on right now. Pain, loss and suffering is required to change.

Congrats Brad and to Bradley Cooper as well! Someone once said that Addiction is not the problem, it is the “Solution to cope with it “. I don’t know what addiction to alcohol is, I have treated Alcoholic Addiction clients as a counselor. For every person the reasons that led to the addiction were different, however the common denominator was that they used alcohol to cope. I admire a person that can rise above addiction and overcome it. I believe that these are the best persons to help others, because they have experienced firsthand and can relate to others with the addiction. I am very grateful for the courage that they have shown to come forward and admit that they need help and not be afraid to say what they have experienced. I pray going forward both Brad and Bradley continue to stay well and speak out on this very important issue. My best to all who are struggling with Alcohol addiction. 🙏

You never defeat an alcohol addiction, you can only temporarily control it. An alcoholic can not have a drink for 20 years and then all it takes is ONE drink and he's off the wagon binge drinking again

    • @Loganichols123

I don’t find fault with the succession of thought, but think about why you have that succession of thought. That is what plagues most. It’s not about the first thought; it’s about the reason why we have the thought and then why we have the thought of the thought and so on. I dare say almost all deal with this in some varying degree. Some plaques are not as obvious as other. I hope you take this info and better yourself and those around you.

don't blame the alcohol because your a F'up and plenty of people can drink and be responsible and normal functioning people. It's always a cheap copout to blame the alcohol for ones doings. AA is not the answer either because that is just another cage to be in. Accountability before one ever has had alcohol is the real issue and not the alcohol and not blaming it. Personal discipline is the real key and not playing the victim of ones own devices and having anything as a crutch including any kind of philosophical ideals such as AA or any other restrictive type ideology or programs.
