That is right and wrong. Maybe it looked like he betrayed soul society, but in heart he was still with rangiku. He just had the right personality traits that made him look like a betraying snake. He was awesome.
It takes a snake to know a snake. Gin saw through Aizen before he ever made a move. His one fatal mistake was being in a shonen anime without being the MC.
What I always thought was badass about this scene is the command Gin gives to his Zampakutou. "Kill". Nothing grand like the others, no pierce the heavens, set the world ablaze or stuff like that. He was cold AF.
By far. Basically the story of a boy diving headfirst into the depths of hell to get revenge on the devil himself for abusing his childhood love and taking a piece of her soul the contrast between him and Ichigo is that while Ichigo fought for good, Gin thought he could beat the devil by playing his game. By doing every evil action and selling his own soul to earn trust. He stops just short at the final nail, the worst thing he could possibly do himself “leave it to me to kill those kids” It’s completely fitting he wasn’t beaten by Aizen the man. He was beaten by the idea of evil he represented
so basically soifons zanpakuto but faster, longer and without the need for poision or a second hit. 1 hit and he just has to activate that mini grenade ability in the target for a win. yea thats broken espesually if it stacks.
I think once they started showing his backstory, we all knew what they meant, but also like when else could they have shown his backstory?? They did his character justice for what purpose he played
Actually only the attempt of Gin to kill him was in his plans and he was overconfident about counter it but he didn't expected such kind of abilities. If it wasn't for the hogkyoku or plot armor Aizen would be dead.
Technically, Aizen needed the fear of death for the Hogyoku to take full effect. Gin gave him that, but we don't know for sure, might actually be Aizens plan :D
its because he had fused with the hokyokugen or what ever its called. the series stated that it had started to have mind of its own it chose aizen as its host. therefore even when it was removed, it would willfully return to aizen. its the very thing that gives aizen his immortality. they can no longer be separated. gin didn't know that and aizen didn't know that either until this very moment. he knew it chose him but he didn't know it would become him.
To me the best thing about this scene is for all of Aizen's long term scheming, for his intelligence and power, he was never prepared for Gin's betrayal despite being prepared for his betrayal.
Gin had arguably one of the best bankai's out of all the captains. Extremely simple to use, extremely lethal and also the fact that its extremely stealthy and you can't even see it's a bankai until he slices through a city.
Gin was such a dick through the series that it makes it hard to feel bad for him getting killed, but what actually contributes to the sad feeling is that everything he did was practically for nothing unfortunately.
he essentially waited too long. his plan would have worked if he would have created more opportunity but he waited until aizen willfully gave an opportunity and by that time it was too late. had he done this in hecto mundo or during the battle with the captains and the espadas he would have succeeded.
He could easily go and speak with Urahara and Mayuri about Aizen's plans directly or indirectly. They would easily come up with the plan to stop him before all this happened. It was possible before and after Urahara was expelled. Many other scenarios, but he chose this one where he actually gains immortal body.
0:36: The words that Gin had said are sad in hindsight… He never meant to hurt nor kill Rangiku…despite playing the role of the “villain”, such words were an act to discourage Rangiku from following him as his mission to take down Aizen is very dangerous…😢
Gins bankai is quite fitting… it destroys cells from the inside by leaving a piece of its sword there… if you think about it, it mirrors gins plan and his goal… to get alongside Aizen and his group and defeat him from the inside too
and his own journey. letting himself be rotted away from the inside in pursuit of one singular goal of taking out Aizen and returning the piece of Rangiku’s soul
@@footballfan283 He should have at least told Yamamoto about Aizen and the weakness to Kyōka Suigetsu, seems like a misstep to not share that crucial information.
@@SerasXHarkonnen He didn’t have the chance. Aizen’s guard was always up before fusing with the Hogyuoku. He even said it himself that since he fused with the Hogyuoku he doesn’t need to have his guard up like before. That was the only chance Gin got to kill him but it was already too late to this point
Because Aizen managed to touch him. That's when you see Gin jump back. Aizen at this point had transcended to such a level that he straight up erases normal people due to his spiritual presence alone. I theorize it could be Aizen has merged with his blade to a degree so his body has the properties of a sharp sword.
Probably the first time we see Aizen lose his character and Gin was sooo close to succeeding.

Actually, Tite Kubo writing about Aizen was also the plan of Aizen.
Why Aizen didn't die here?
Gin is the most purposeful person in anime or movies. Bro was playing all his life for that moment
