This fight showed Kubo at his best when it comes to fight choreography. It mirrored some of the most epics fights of the soul society arc. The fact that Tousen, after gaining sight, ends up losing to his lieutenant, who simply sneaks up behind him and stabs him through the head, is poetic. It shows how power can make you lose yourself. Reminded me of Ichigo's fight with Kenpachi, or Ishida's fight with Mayuri, or Renji's fight with Byakuya. Soul society arc fights felt like they had so much weight. You were legitimately scared for the proganists. Each fight wasn't just about power, it was about will and wit. Kubo had tapped into his greatest form. As Bleach progressed, Kubo still would occasionally give us some of that genius, but it was never the same. Honestly I blame the whole weekly shonen system for never giving him enough time and space to flesh out his ideas.

It's so fucked. If Sajin had any inkling, that Yamamoto condoned this (although he was probably powerless politically, but could eliminate the 46 possibly if he felt like it), Sajin would probably have a more nuanced outlook on Yamamoto...
The reason why aizen killed tousen here has been mentioned in the novel. It said that tousen request aizen that if one day he's not the same person who is only living for revenge than aizen should cut him into pieces to make sure he's dead then.
*Bleach* ⚔️ This brings back my *Adult* *Swim* nights. 😭 Tosen and Komamura were always so unique and fascinating, even though they were *BARLEY* shown or used at that.
Man I loved this fight especially in the arc next to Barragan's fight. Komamura was so dedicated to help his friend see the light in the world despite what happened, wonder how it would go if he managed to get Tousen back to Soul Society. Kinda sucks the novel explained Tousen never intended to go back even wanting Aizen to finish him if he showed sign of being swayed. I'd like to think he would've went with them but only for Komamura and Hisagi, not for Soul Society's sake given he hated how corrupt the system was.
I’m glad I found this comment 🤣somebody finally said it , like why would you want you big ass bankai to take damage to your physical body 😂they really 🧀’d tf outta tosen in this fight now that I go back & look at it
@@kjjones2443well he actually has a benefit that no other Bankai has and that’s that his Bankai recovers along with him. While other bankais get damage and never fully recover as stated by Mayuri
Kind of stupid that Tosen never used his Hollowfication even once prior to a high stakes battle like this. If you get new abilities why would you NOT try to find out what they actually are before deploying them against a real enemy?
of course, all bankai users can activate their shikai without any command, it was revealed by Byakuya when he fought Renji. And that's also why it's basically impossible to fight Aizen without falling into his hypnosis because he doesn't need to say anything to activate his shikai and the shape doesn't change, so he can release it anytime your eyes look at his sword.
Tengo la teoría de que como el Bankai de komamira es tan grande no cabría en el área del Bankai de tousen y por eso no lo uso, de otra manera no tendría sentido que no lo liberará en esta batalla tan importante.
This fight is so stupid. Now that I look back on bleach it’s so stupid. Like why didn’t hisagi die when he was stabbed? Why don’t any other characters die when they’re slashed and stabbed multiple times???it’s like they’re immortal or something. And how does tosen fight better when he’s blind and fights horrible when he can see? Makes no sense…. And then hisagi kills his teacher wtf… dude has no heart. Yeah, I get it. He had to kill him. But come on man, at least handicap him or something. Why stab him in the head like that? Dude is heartless. Just killed tosen like he was just a house fly…. And In the end tosen just dies… so then his whole character and ideals were pointless. He never got justice and never got his revenge. Instead he was killed by his friends. What kind of fucked up life is that…? Fk bleach
To asnwer the questions... 1) They are souls, they are extremely more durable than living beings and their spiritual pressure can keep them alive if they are not utterly fatally wounded. 2) Tosen fought horribly because he relied heavily on his sight once he finally gained it, when shinigami fights they use another sense called reikaku rather than just their sight, it's a sort of mental vision or spiritual vision, which is the reason Tosen fought and acted almost as he could perfectly see. Finally being able to see made him unconsciously rely heavily on it (also probably since he used a resurreccion he couldn't use reikoku anymore, or at least not remotely as good as when he was just a shinigami) and ironically made his vision way more limited than when he was blind in which he relied on his reikoku and also all other his senses to fight. 3) Hisagi killed him out of respect for the man he thought Tosen was, plus he was about to kill Komamura, who at the same time admitted he couldn't do it. Also sparing him would have been a far worse fate since he would have been probably executed anyway, or tortured and then killed, for treason. It was way more merciful to kill him. 4) Tosen was finished by Aizen and he was the one who asked him to do so in case he changed his mind. He despised Gotei 13, Central 46 and their way of acting as justice bringer by standing on innocents corpses. That's why he asked Aizen to kill him if he ever happen to change his mind and became just like those shinigami he hated.
Tosen has so much swag till he turned into a bug
I like how they did that. Represents his decline
His grapefruit eyes disgusted me to no end.
Yea that was just …..
lmao literally
His zanpakuto is a bug after all. Suzumushi means bell cricket. His Shikai and Bankai also have insect names
Nobody yells "Aizen" better than Komamura.
Bloodlusted Yell Filled With Pure Rage & Anger
If only he knew the truth, his true enemy would have been his focus...
The va did an amazing job
This battle had the most personal stakes in the fake karakura town arc. It's one of my favorite battles in the series.
same with me, this battle and kenpachi vs nnoitra i i think 5 best battle before Yhwach Arc
fun fact: aizen was just fulfilling tosen's wish, he asked him to kill him if he ever forgave shinigami's or something like that
In tybw aizen said it was his way of showing mercy, as in releasing him from the shame.
