Terry Silver is my favorite character, I never want him to die. I love everything about his character.
In an interview the actor said they removed a subplot for Terry, which would have given more understanding of why he was so intent on assuring his legacy, but also why he wasnt afraid to die against Chozen, as he would rather die there, than in a bed. He didn't spoil it cause he was unsure if they would use it, but I see that as confirmation they filmed him being sick but cut it for time.

Ralph has also said there are some things that didn’t make it into this season, they may be used later. I believe they cut out most of it but left enough hints that it can be picked up next season and it would still make sense. That makes all the sense in the world to me.
Or you know...that's just medicine to treat his PTSD. The scene even has medicine on table and him having war flashbacks together.

@@KenCole people seem to forget that Terry was in therapy when Kreese first caught up with him. When Terry's chief was preparing his breakfast he was using a mini flan thrower or very powerful lighter. This started to give Terry a panic attack. So it would make sense for his Chief to ask if he should call his doctor. Shrinks are doctors.
Maybe he was originally scripted to die but after all the speculation...they may now change the storyline

Terry silver is not only one of my favorite characters, but he is an amazing villain. I'm not sure why but I just really am captivated by his character. I love how sophisticated, clever and cultured he is. He's also sort of funny.
Terry came from the 3rd floor. 3rd floors in hospitals are typically for people who are clinically ill. And that number 3 that appeared behind Terry was massive and in our faces for us to see. And Daniel and Johnny tried to figure out why he was there and Daniel made his theory then they brushed it off and change the topic at hands. They don’t add these things for no reason. Just saying

maybe at the hospital you go to. it is not always on the third floor. my mom ad cancer 8 years ago and passed. when she had to go intothe hospital and i visited her for it she was on the 5th floor.

All clues lead me to believe Silver is affected by PTSD. The breakfast scene involved a mental trigger not a physical event. He's under a doctor's care, more likely a head doctor.

If Terry is terminally ill , he's the most in shape , healty terminally ill Person ever. Maybe he was visiting someone in the hospital that was terminally ill....it's a possibility.

Everyone who possesses any amount of positive or powerful mojo at all knows that Terry Silver can’t die. He’s like Santa Claus or Jesus. He just lives.
Another piece of evidence I’ve heard people bring up is the fact that Daniel beat him so decidedly at the end of the last episode (even crane kicking Terry into the glass). But good lord, he just went one on one with Chozen! He was beaten up, broken and bleeding. He wasn’t 100% and Daniel had already sobered up by then and also fresh from NOT having to fight those guys on the side of the road. Terry’s defeat at that point was, much like Thanos, inevitable.
I am also team “Terry is not dying.” I think, like other people, they may have put some hints in there to throw people off and get them talking…..like we’re doing right now. Terry is in too good of shape to be dying. He has PTSD so the meds could easily be for that.
Your theory is plausible….he has the funds to utilize longevity.
Steve Jobs had money too. The actor did a interview and said they cut a subplot explaining why Terry went all out and wasn’t afraid of dying to chosen.
It might be someone significant to Terry dying instead. His dad perhaps, or that woman he was seeing ... and his pills can be for PTST or antidepressiva ... It could still be him dying but that would be fairly obvious and the creators have a habit of dropping 'obvious' clues just to put us on the wrong foot ... (remember the blond doctor helping miguel that was there to let us think it was Ali for a minute?) Or everyone thinking Mike would be the 'old friend' Terry referred of at the end of season 4 ...
Kreese and Silver would both atleast have to be 75, plus Daniel and Johnny would both have to be around 52 when they were both 17 back in karate 1 which was 1984 and Cobra Kai Season 5 is still only 2019 and Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) is four months younger than Daniel (Ralph Macchio) in real life.

That’s a little farfetched. I think it’s far more likely that Terry has a giant room under his mansion full of clones in jars, and he’s found an ancient method of meditating his soul and life essence into a younger healthier clone body, BUT it’s going to backfire when the Miyagi Do people find a way to meditate Mr. Mayagi’s soul (currently trapped inside his Medal of Honor) into a Terry clone. Then we can finally have Terry duke it out with Mr. Miyagi inside of a Terry clone… and yes, he has gained full on Jedi powers from the afterlife.

Anyone can be on medication, and an man his age will almost certainly be, but to include this fact in a show is not done without a reason; more so when only one character is shown taking them, especially when he is not the only one his age. I get the feeling he was on psych meds but stopped taking them after Kreese showed up. Your thoughts?

I believe that the meds and doctor visits might have something to do with Terry's Mindset, he seams much calmer since he Reappeared in CKs4 maybe hes been taking meds and going to the hospital to deal with his Mental Problems.
The scene with him at the hospital, he could have just been visiting a student who got injured in his class, and i think the scene took place after Chozen took down his senseis after being exposed, could have been visiting one of the injured senseis.
I like that. I was thinking he may have been at the hospital to discuss Sting Ray's medical bills, with the intention to pay for them.

I think its possible Thomas Ian Griffin doesn't want to come back. He was retired, and the writers just set this up as a possibility, in case they can't get him to reprise the role again. Here's a quote from Hurwitz.
And what of Terry Silver actor Thomas Ian Griffith? "In terms of Terry Silver, this may be the end for him - or maybe not," Hurwitz said. "You never know with a character of his means and determination. But we love Thomas Ian Griffith, it’s been amazing working with him the last couple of years. We’ll see if we get to work with him more."
It really doesn't sound like Silver is in the cards for season 6, if/when it gets renewed. But they want to leave the door open, for the possibility of him coming back again.

It would be deep for Silver to need a life-saving kidney or liver transplant... and at the end of the day... Kreese... despite his alligator soul, forfeits his own life by being a donor... solidifying the hero/martyr friendship between the 2 war buddies once again... like always. These 2 guys are intertwined on a deeper level, no matter what’s going on between them. And through this action, Kreese will absolve his sins... and Silver will receive the so-called mercy that Cobra Kai was said to never have.

I just hope Season 5 wasn't the end of Terry Silver, Mike Barnes and of course Chozen (the 3 main ruthless OG characters of the whole karate kid/Cobra Kai franchise).
I always interpreted that scene where Terry Silver skipped breakfast as him just having a lot on his mind because Kreese's proposition to join Cobra Kai and the flashbacks of his his time in Vietnam.

Ken Cole's point about Silver's quest for immortality is quite plausible. I would add that Silver's dojo commercial shows students connected to machines that closely monitor and assist their development. The clear focus of the commercial is merging of humans with technology to, in Silver's own word, "transform" them into future champions. Intriguing!
He's never really lived beside trying to impress people and hurting others. Maybe there's a redemption and Danny might end up helping him in a strange way.

Well it's show. It's theory. Sounds like Terry will be back for more pain to Miyagi/Eagle Fang. If Terry's wealth can extend his life, then Terry can buy his way out of jail, with the best lawyers. Terry will still be on top. If we're going that way, I think the only one who can stop him is Kreese. My opinion.
I think Kreese knows something about Terry we all don't know since they were buds in Vietnam and it will probably be exposed.
The pills are depression pills because the martial arts for him it's something that will keep him off medication but the medication was helping him cool his character a little much nicer

Terry Silver running into Johnny and Carmen at the hospital is no coincidence. He knew they would be here and suddenly appeared in order to get into Johnny’s mind.
Doubtful. Even Terry acted surprised to see them and there is no way he could of known where they were. It is also like Daniel said, he couldn't do anything that would jeopardize his place in the Senkai Tenkai.

Love your humor Ken. Truth is I think something is happening, the hospital visit is no coincidence, nor is it for life extension. The writers don’t really go to those extremes during 5 seasons of Cobra Kai. And for those people who actually believe your theory, you left out that Dutch is also a patient they pulled from jail for experiments too, haha.

Terry Silver fan here since KK3, great theory and could you please do a vid on why Terry lost to daniel, so many Daniel fanboys don’t get why it happened.
I always thought the medication was for psychiatric reasons rather than physical. However, even if it was for a terminal illness he'd be on a lot more than just 1 medication. If we saw a cabinet full of pills it would make more sense for the he's dying theory. Terry mentioned to Kreese he was on coke in the 80's, he hit rock bottom, got clean and got in therapy. It's vey possible he was diagnosed with some sort for psychiatric disorder that requires pills. He was VERY OTT in KK3, even he if was on a ton of drugs.
