This story made me think, “Wow these stories seem really rushed and at the same time overly long.” I think there are some issues with the writing. It’s great that fans made the show, but how experienced are they with writing? Also i don’t like the fact that we have now gone three episodes without having all of the x-men together in action. Sometimes with these Disney+ series, the creators act is if the season is one long movie. That’s partially true, but most episodes need to stand on their own.

Partway through, I can't help but think "Man poor Storm just doesn't get to have her own episode, does she?"
I felt that. I just didn't want to say it.
I really feel like storms story is underdeveloped, both in respect to regaining her powers and in respect to her romance with Forge. The “I love you,” from Life/Death part 1 was out of nowhere.
It was pretty sweet to finally see Deathbird.
I was pretty excited to see the Kree and Shiar doing their thing, at least.
Man, they should have just made this into a 1 hour episode show instead of the usual 30 mins. There is sooooooo much to explore, especially in terms of Storm's story.
Her hair is back! Storm was the best part of both entries 4 and 6, and it's unfortunate she had to be a subplot in both. Imagine just putting them together for one really strong episode, instead of half.
But I do think Xavier with the Shi'ar works better on second viewing. Yes, coming out of nowhere, it can be deflating to get yanked away from everything else, but on its own merits, it was kinda cool. I liked seeing Ronan the Accuser in his OG look, and Gladiator (depicted strongly) and the idea of Charles becoming a controversial galactic emperor through marraige, and the sacrifice he's tested with. The show can do a lot with a little. I loved how he literally schooled these imperialist aliens. He was kind of a boss, wasn't he?
This show moves so fast, I actually could see the season ending with a Gambit/Rogue wedding once Remy's potential resurrection as Death is sorted out. But as much as I'd love that, I wouldn't want it to happen so quickly when they haven't even officially been a couple yet. Let them try to navigate being in an actual relationship for a minute before they start picking out wedding venues. I'd at least like to see their carriage ride date first.
I'm disappointed that depowered Storm didn't get to lead the X-Men like in the comics.
It would also have given Scott and Jean a chance to leave to sort their relationship out, and take care of baby Cable in the future.
I haven't been watching mainly because I don't expect the quality to last, but also I'm currently reading through the Claremont Era in Omnibus form and I'm enjoying that way more than I probably would enjoy this show at the moment. I'm glad it's been pretty good so far and I do hope it keeps up, but I know how things work these days, they always drop the ball
I have a feeling everything with Storm was to just get rid of her for a while because she's too powerful and would just blast through any threat the X-men would face. But they still wanted her in the show, so they had to give her something to do while she was powerless.
The Shi-Ar stuff was interesting, but coming off of episode five it almost felt like whiplash. Storm deserved better, too.
I think I just have to accept that I'm not a big Storm fan. I've always found her a bit dull, and this story wasn't the one to convert me.
The Jubilee episode was really fun, but episode 4 should've been a full Lifedeath Part 1 episode. Storm's power loss and rediscovery deserved to be fleshed out properly.

Im sorry, I am not trying to be contrarian to you personally. But Storm's story felt like the main plot to me. That is she has a her big rebirth, she get her original costume, its all great. Charles story felt shorter, and the ending of the episode elevated his part of the story since he hadn't been doing much till then. Mind you i wasn't board while watching either.
Ugh. The animation is too choppy to even watch it. Damn. If they had just taken some extra time to make it smooth it could have been really great.
The problem is they have a lot to tell and are only given 10 episodes to do so. The original series had seasons that were longer and could afford to go slower and have many one off story episodes...something that has been lost since TV turned to streaming. Great episode overall imo.
“It made Gambit a popular character” no, he was always popular 😂 the 5th episode only reinforces that to gambit fans.
Well that episode was about as subtle as a brick through the window...
This episode was another one I don’t like. Why is Deathbird free when she betrayed Lilandra by making a pact with Apocalypse? Deathbird should be in prison for her crimes. Xavier should be able to visit Earth and Earth should still have freedom to its own planet.
I think it's possible that they'd pull a Once Upon a Time and elaborate on this Storm arc through flashbacks as the series moves forward. So they might just touch up on the Storm/Forge romance too, and hopefully they show that she also was trained to fight in hand to hand combat during her down time if they were to use the OUAT formula. Thoughts?
Yeah, the pacing is the one criticism I have about this show. I feel like for people who have no idea about the Xmen some things would just happen out of nowhere and the show is relying on people having previous knowledge to excuse the lack of build up and the throwing things at us so suddenly.
What do you expect? The show isn't as great as you think it is. I feel like this show is just knee jerking everyone all at once with speeding up so much content in your face. It's a fever dream, which is poor quailty writing. I rather have shows that gives stories that grow, develop and take time to have a great story arcs. Instant grafitication stories suck.

I feel like this show was written with the intention of releasing 2 episodes a week but that was changed last minute to one a week when they realized it was going to be a hit

Good for Gambit, and by X-tension, his fans! You know how, with the X-ception of horror slasher movies, behind every good man is a good woman? So, at the very least, here's hoping there's a good Gambit episode for you next month on Mother's Day, being that he's your son, if Rogue isn't written better.

I'm not watching, but, imo, based on listening and reading your thoughts, Gambit sounds like the most interesting character besides The Black Queen.
