Easily one if my favourite fames. I absolutely love Greek mythology so getting the chance to pkay through battling mythical creatures and exploring ancient Greece was truly amazing
I love odyssey, I love huge open world games, the side quests , and the message board is a little over whelming. But if u do it alongside the main story line , the game is quite fun since the story line by itself is pretty short.
This game jumped straight to my absolute favourite assassin's creed game. I was gutted that on my first playthrough I only saved 2 of my family so I immediately started playing again. Love the characters, love the setting, love the mythical monsters. I love that there's no fall damage & Alkibiades will always be my babe ❤
This is honestly the best game Ubisoft made in this franchise. If it was streamed lined and sold as Odyssey, maybe it wouldn’t have sold as much but it would be even more recognized imo
I will never forget loading into the game for the first time, i still get chills every time it starts. The only game that had that effect on me was RDR2, damn good games
I love this game, Greece is a blast to explore, and Kassandra is a great character. I understand the complaints about her not being an assassin, and being too powerful, but it’s so much fun to play.
Why would a grown man play as Kassandra...I didn't have to think twice about choosing Alexios. An assassin in ancient Greece playing as Kassandra would destroy the believability and immersion...this is probably where the complaints about this game stem from they ruined it for themselves by choosing a female
Odyssey has 89% positive steam reviews. Second highest of all AC games if I am not mistaken. I don't think that reception can be called split. I was actually one of the few negative reviewers (and yes, I am an AC fan since the first game), complaining about the excess of grind - especially to upgrade weapons and armor. Even I changed my review to positive eventually, after spending 150+ hours and enjoying all of it. I couldn't really call it grind if I was enjoying it. "Too much content" is a silly complaint, especially if a lot of it is optional. Lack of stealth is also great exaggeration. Other than those conquest battles (I think only two of them were unavoidable), almost everything can be done using stealth. The option to kiss Aspasia also made sense to me. Because her story arcs make her likable, and her explanations for her actions make her a lot more sympathetic and sensible compared to many other AC Templar villains. And AC Odyssey is set so early in the lore that the protagonist is not a member of the creed nor a hidden one, but a legendary mercenary. The order of the ancients / templars are not yet the villains they become later in the timeline. The Eagle Bearer does not have a moral obligation or inclination to end Aspasia purely because she was a cultist. Overall, I think Odyssey is one of the best AC games ever made. My three personal favorites are Black Flag, Odyssey and Brotherhood.
This is the first game I've played in series. I agree it is not related to OG Assassin's creed games but the game is really great. I'm big fan of music, Kassandra and weapon system.
But it is. Maybe not in game play mechanics but it’s absolutely relevant to the other games. I keep hearing this and I just roll my eyes. The Templars have never just been the Templars. Even in the modern day they are abstergo. Before Templars it was order of the ancients and before that the cult of kosmos. The fight of the Templars begins here and in a way so does the fight of the assassins. Desmond has isu blood just like Kassandra just more diluted. The game focus is on isu artifacts just like the OG assassins creed games. Why is it it’s ok for the “Templars” to evolve into what they are but it’s not ok for the assassins to have evolved from something else entirely too?
@@zacheryhalbertfacts I said the same thing it’s a story telling how everything came to be like in Valhalla when eivor went to Paris to kill Gorm an after he was done the native ppl wanted him to tell a story an after he told them a story he gave them the apple of Eden an I was like interesting so that’s where Connor clan had on got the apple of Eden from the stories for the recent ac are great you can’t rush thru them gotta enjoy it an take ur time on them to get the full picture by far odyssey is the better game I just click with it more it felt more alive just wish the combat was a lil better an had more wow to it
@@nestormelendez9005 Yes and no. The cult of Kosmos leader later starts what will be the ideological change to what the templars would become. It’s pretty much spelled out for the player. The order of the ancients basically want the same thing as the cult of Kosmos and would directly be the ones who become the Templars. With the cult of Kosmos thoroughly dismantled by Kassandra the logical conclusion is their leader went on to join the order of the ancients to push her knew found beliefs. Both are in assassins creed odyssey. But the primary point of odyssey was to give us a much better understanding of the ISU, humanities connection to them, their intentions and what that bloodline could do when it wasn’t as diluted like it is in later games.

Correction, non fans would complain about them being the same. Ubisoft can do new things with ac without turning it into the clisterfuck that is this shit game.
Old AC games are boring AF. People who say they're good are only for nostalgia. They're usually the type of people that always say the old things were the good ones

@@RS__7 for me the only bad thing are the Greeks x Spartans fights , as they hold no real weight in the story and I never felt compelled to do them apart from progressing the story. In AC Valhala those fights at least guarantees you the alliance of the region. The map of Odyssey is easily five Skyrims large. I love the open worldness. What I love about the modern world story is most of the time it’s just glorified cutscenes or you just need to do a little exploring and you’re done. One of the main reasons I don’t visit the older games like Black Flag was how tedious the modern missions were. Odyssey is easily the best Assassin’s Creed game.
i know a lot of people don’t really like this game, but i absolutely love it. it’s a banger to me, including the dlcs, and especially the atlantis dlc. i love the story and side quests and graphics and.. everything
I played this game for the first time last year, and it's one of my favorite AC games made so far! So much went into the game seemingly and I respect everyone who worked hard to make it happen
If they removed 'assassins creed' from the title then the malakas wouldn't cry so much. The game is great for what it is. Kassandra is in my opinion one of the most fun female protagonist to play as. The no hud option made it definitely worth the playthrough either first or new game plus.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is the only ac game that has made me do a second gameplay this time with Alexio. Alexio's voice ain't that bad as people say it is. This game is fantastic
I loved using Spartan kick, except that tons on enemies (especially mercenaries) can’t be kicked off of cliffs with it. And while yeah that would be pretty powerful, it’s really annoying to just shit down the player like that after giving them such a useful tool.
@@Viggo3000 Most normal enemies can be kicked off of cliffs, and some mercenaries can as well. But especially for high level mercenaries they often have an ability that means if you try to kick them off a cliff they hit an invisible wall and are just staggered.
from what i remember to kick a mercenary you need to first make them lose its balance, for example for swords its the roundabout typo attack and then quick kick
I'm not much of a gamer. I work all day then enjoy games whenever I can. I bought Odyssey in 2018 & only played a couple missions. Then I stopped for years. In 2022 I finally tried it again & I loved it so much I played it every day for months. I stopped again after completing the story. Now it's 2024 & I picked the game up where I left off once again. Now I'm just beating old side quests & leveling up again so that i can finally fight Medusa. The last mythological beast I've still never beat
Though it isn't my favorite AC game, Odyssey is the one I play the most. I can come back to it and just do conquest battles, infiltrations, some random NPC quests, fight mercenaries, or naval combat. The game just has so much to offer.
As a Greek who has been into Greek mythology throughout school and certainly loves rpg games, ac odyssey was one of my favorite ac games of all times (yes, ive played them all apart from 1 and 3). While it might not be an "assassins creed" game, it is a nice open world rpg which has depth in its main or even side quest stories. Almost 100 hours into the game and still exploring the vast map. Great work on the video, keep it up!
I love Odyssey, and you nailed the best things about it - beautiful immersive setting, huntinf Cult members, and sailing the Adrestia. easy 9/10 game no matter what its title is. but one annoyance I wanted to mention that I don't hear much about... all the tombs are basically the same! It's always the same corridors and staircases copy-pasted in every tomb, with props just shuffled around a bit. There was a missed opportinity to explore unique tombs for some of the greatest heroes and kings in greek myth and legend. Very disappointing after the unique tombs of Origins, and one of Valhalla's improvements was bringing back unique tombs with good platforming segments.
AC Odyssey is my first 100% Steam achievements game. I love ancient Greece and this game just deliver it. Story, music, characters, level design and fantastic Kassandra as protagonist. Now I'm playing Valhalla. A lot worse but Eivor (as a male) is far better than I thought. I think he deserve better storytelling.
out of the newer trilogy, odyssey stil has more concurrent players on steam to this day. it's just so much fun to play and replay. the build possibility also fun to mess with.
i didn't pay attention to any of the reviews or what people were saying online at the time it was released, i just played it and absolutely loved it, still my fave assassin creed game. weird to see videos now looking back at it saying how divisive the game was.
I chose Alexios since I thought it made more sense historically and was so annoyed when I found out Kassandra was canon. Felt totally pointless and made all my decisions feel worthless. Having non canon playable characters is imo the dumbest choice they ever made.
I recently got this on a steam sale, and played it for about 10 hours, love it so far definitely one of my favourite AC games, i think being half Greek makes me love it more as recognise a lot of the islands and the words
just playing this game for the first time in 2024, holy shit, just can't stop playing it, I thought nothings gonna come close to RDR2 in my books but this game is just amazing, i don't understand where is all the hate coming from because it's just mindblowing for me personally, the map size, the islands, naval warfare, conquest battles just so many things to do 💯
Odyssey is 'not a real Assassins Creed game', yet Odyssey was the game that actually got me genuinely interested again in AC lore The mystery around the Spear of Leonidas and the way the game slowly drip-fed you Isu content, how the DLC connected the games to the later brotherhood story and the Isu story was very intriguing to me. I felt like I was slowly unraveling this great mystery. It actually made me want to go back and play the old games and learn more about the lore. Odyssey is actually a really good introduction for newcomers to the franchise
People who hate on this game are crazy. Amazing map, graphics, gameplay, story ... people who hate it are just consumed by nostalgia and won't understand that AC is not about Ezio and Altair

1600+ hours played, and still playing.
I love everything about this game.
Lol it ain’t that short 35 hours for the main story it’s pretty long if u ask me
I remember absolutely grinding this game up to 15 hours a day lmao, safe to say I quite enjoyed it
This game jumped straight to my absolute favourite assassin's creed game. I was gutted that on my first playthrough I only saved 2 of my family so I immediately started playing again. Love the characters, love the setting, love the mythical monsters. I love that there's no fall damage & Alkibiades will always be my babe ❤
he's a drunk hornball
This is honestly the best game Ubisoft made in this franchise. If it was streamed lined and sold as Odyssey, maybe it wouldn’t have sold as much but it would be even more recognized imo
I will never forget loading into the game for the first time, i still get chills every time it starts. The only game that had that effect on me was RDR2, damn good games
I love this game, Greece is a blast to explore, and Kassandra is a great character. I understand the complaints about her not being an assassin, and being too powerful, but it’s so much fun to play.
@K.C-2049why be stealthy if they all dead
Why would a grown man play as Kassandra...I didn't have to think twice about choosing Alexios. An assassin in ancient Greece playing as Kassandra would destroy the believability and immersion...this is probably where the complaints about this game stem from they ruined it for themselves by choosing a female
Alexios is also a great character
@@RS__7 what? my guy why does it matter if a grown man wants to play as a female character? and kassandra is the canon choice anyways
@@Aloverofthefinerartz historically inaccurate..not immersive
Finally, after alll these years, people start to appreciate RPG Assassin's Creed.
Over hated game, it was an amazing experience starting off on the first island than realising OMG THE MAP IS HIUGEGEGGEGE
I wish they could of gave us the ability to purchase a house anywhere on the map along with being able to staff your new home with guards.
I just started this. Bought my PS5 about 9 months ago, my first console since PS1. So I'm coming in pretty fresh. This game is feeling incredible.
Only at 996 hours of this game.Started yesterday a new game at 994 hours, played 2 hours and still loving it.
❤❤❤❤❤
@@nestormelendez9005 you hear it from haters that never finished the game or somehow didn’t put two and two together even though it’s heavily phoned in through dialogue Aspasia continues her work after the events of Odyssey
I bloody loved Alexios. He is goofy, sassy and has a major himbo enegry. Plus he is SO handsome.
I feel like all the people that complain about this game probably chose to play as Kassandra...that would destroy the immersion and believability for me...I'm loving this game so far and Alexios is a great main character ...not even left the first island yet. So much content
@@RS__7 I too went into the game with a bias against it. True it's grindy, but the game grew on me. Definitely worth playing
@@gorkhawarlord4943 Hasn't felt grindy at all for me yet..I'm too immersed and mesmerized by the visuals, music and ambiance of ancient Greece...I'm not an assassin creed fanatic just a casual gamer with interest in history and travel..that probably helps..
Gamers are too spoilt probably play too many games...it's a 6 year old game I'm blown away one of the greatest games ever made in my opinion and I've not even left the first island yet
Odyssey is a masterpeice. I wad hooked on the story and my jaw was on the floor with the incredible world building. It really felt like that world was still going even after I turned it off. Chef's kiss.
One of my favorite games of all time. I still play it to this day.
As lover of ancient Greece, AC Odyssey is best game I ever played, the only thing I regret here is that I had weak PC when first time played it.
AC Odyssey is an unbelievably good game. So what if it doesn’t tie in to other AC games. It’s stunning. No other game has given me the sense of awe as this did when I first sailed from Magris to Andros and realised just how much beautiful map was out there.
I absolutely love this game.
The world design and exploring Ancient Greece keeps me coming back time after time
Absolutely love this game. Despite not having a hidden blade. The fact you get to become a hybrid isu (DLC needed) just puts the icing on the cake
One of my favorite parts of this game is gettin in fights with entire towns
I absolutely love ac oddysey! It is a big ass adventure! I know people don't like it cuz it's not like the old ac games but if they made every ac game like the old ones I think people would complain about that also. I enjoyed it for what it is n it's a beautiful fun challenging adventure with a cool story!
Correction, non fans would complain about them being the same. Ubisoft can do new things with ac without turning it into the clisterfuck that is this shit game.
Old AC games are boring AF. People who say they're good are only for nostalgia. They're usually the type of people that always say the old things were the good ones
I don't understand how anyone can complain about this game... it's incredible..only just started playing it haven't left the first island yet and the visuals the atmosphere, music, time period and overall content is breathtaking..the map looks huge haven't even fully explored my island yet.
The only way you could hate on this game is if you have no interest in history (in which case why buy the game) a Tik Tok attention span or you're just too spoilt play far too many video games and you're burnt out. You obviously need to take a break..this one of the greatest games ever made
@@RS__7 for me the only bad thing are the Greeks x Spartans fights , as they hold no real weight in the story and I never felt compelled to do them apart from progressing the story.
In AC Valhala those fights at least guarantees you the alliance of the region. However, I think they're also flawed gameplay-wise because the enemies are not finite, you can speed through the objective to kill the final target and that's done
@@bioticgod technically might not be perfect but who cares ..look at the visuals it's unbelievable. Definitely one of the most beautiful worlds I've ever played in so far..the sun sets are amazing the colors wow. The map looks so big I not even scratched the surface yet....I loved the Spartan intro what a way to start a game getting the chance to be Leonidas. I don't understand the complaints about this game
When you are a rpg player and you like assassins creed historical setting and world, Odyssey is where the magic happens
You can tell me whatever you want about AC Odyssey. It has the best map of all ac games. Even Black Flag dosen't come even close, on the map side.
This game have special place in my heart.
Enough is enough..... I can't take it anymore, I want to play Odyssey again ❤.... great video 🔥👌
i know a lot of people don’t really like this game, but i absolutely love it. it’s a banger to me, including the dlcs, and especially the atlantis dlc. i love the story and side quests and graphics and.. everything
literally after a couple years about any AC game : UNDERRATED
This game for me has the best combat mechanics in any game ever. Once you get good at it its just the coolest thing ever
I loved using Spartan kick, except that tons on enemies (especially mercenaries) can’t be kicked off of cliffs with it. And while yeah that would be pretty powerful, it’s really annoying to just shit down the player like that after giving them such a useful tool.
Im pretty sure you can do that. At least i remember doing it
@@Viggo3000 Most normal enemies can be kicked off of cliffs, and some mercenaries can as well.
897 hours of playtime on odyssey so far, i still keep going back to the game. its just too much fun.
Though it isn't my favorite AC game, Odyssey is the one I play the most. I can come back to it and just do conquest battles, infiltrations, some random NPC quests, fight mercenaries, or naval combat. The game just has so much to offer.
It is still the greatest game of all time. Unmatched even with current games.
Criminally underrated
As a Greek who has been into Greek mythology throughout school and certainly loves rpg games, ac odyssey was one of my favorite ac games of all times (yes, ive played them all apart from 1 and 3). While it might not be an "assassins creed" game, it is a nice open world rpg which has depth in its main or even side quest stories. Almost 100 hours into the game and still exploring the vast map. Great work on the video, keep it up!
Best part of ac odyssey is just flying around with Ikaros
Odyssey is easily my favorite game in the series. I hope Ubisoft revisit the characters and settings again some day
It’s the worst and it should rot in hell.
love the exploration in this world keeps me playing years after release.
My favorite game in the franchise by several orders of magnitude
This game is insanely good
This game is a masterpiece, tried getting into Valhalla and Mirage but I keep going back to this game because the world is unmatched.
My favourite AC game, and one of my top 10 games of all time :)
I still come back to it every now and then and still love it after all that years
The Hidden One, Subscribed because your videos are so much fun!
Thank you! I appreciate that
Just stared replaying this again a few days ago!! One of my favorite AC’s
It is still the best looking pc game besides Red Redemption 2. Can’t believe these two games , still best looking after 6 years. 🎉
Don't forget Cyberpunk and Horizon: FW.
There are many games that were hated during launch but later recognized as almost masterpieces by everyone. Odyssey is definitely one of them.
The epic music that plays when you complete the Pyramid tombs in Origins is my favorite part of that game
The best AC game since Black Flag. Did everything went everywhere GOLD edition of this game was legit.
honestly its kinda crazy that i stumbled into the “everyone lives” ending bc over the years its seemed uncommon for others to
Odyssey is easily my favourite AC game out of the RPG trio
Same here, I like Origins and Valhalla a lot too but Odyssey just hits different.
Best AC game ever
AC Odyssey is my first 100% Steam achievements game. I love ancient Greece and this game just deliver it. Story, music, characters, level design and fantastic Kassandra as protagonist. Now I'm playing Valhalla. A lot worse but Eivor (as a male) is far better than I thought. I think he deserve better storytelling.
Ain't no way this game is 6 years old now
out of the newer trilogy, odyssey stil has more concurrent players on steam to this day. it's just so much fun to play and replay. the build possibility also fun to mess with.
It's a really fun rpg, plus grew up loving Greek mythology cause of the Percy Jackson books so the setting is my favorite
i didn't pay attention to any of the reviews or what people were saying online at the time it was released, i just played it and absolutely loved it, still my fave assassin creed game. weird to see videos now looking back at it saying how divisive the game was.
odyssey is so underated
Odyssey was amazing, great story and lots of things to do. Plus amazing hidden storylines.
I chose Alexios since I thought it made more sense historically and was so annoyed when I found out Kassandra was canon. Felt totally pointless and made all my decisions feel worthless. Having non canon playable characters is imo the dumbest choice they ever made.
Same but she grew on me an now I’m thinking bout buy the game again for my ps5 an playin as her
What does “canon” mean in this context, and why should anyone care?
It's one of my most favorite games on all-time. I played the hell out of this game.
I recently got this on a steam sale, and played it for about 10 hours, love it so far definitely one of my favourite AC games, i think being half Greek makes me love it more as recognise a lot of the islands and the words
You really can't go wrong with this game at the sale price.
@@timotmon definitely, always have bargains on Steam
just playing this game for the first time in 2024, holy shit, just can't stop playing it, I thought nothings gonna come close to RDR2 in my books but this game is just amazing, i don't understand where is all the hate coming from because it's just mindblowing for me personally, the map size, the islands, naval warfare, conquest battles just so many things to do 💯
Odyssey is 'not a real Assassins Creed game', yet Odyssey was the game that actually got me genuinely interested again in AC lore
The mystery around the Spear of Leonidas and the way the game slowly drip-fed you Isu content, how the DLC connected the games to the later brotherhood story and the Isu story was very intriguing to me. I felt like I was slowly unraveling this great mystery. It actually made me want to go back and play the old games and learn more about the lore.
Odyssey is actually a really good introduction for newcomers to the franchise
Been playing for 4 years straight still feels new, best assassin's creed game period until they come out with Roman Empire one
I love the non assassin games better than the traditional ones!
Only game in my 46 years that I got all achievements and 100%. A gem.
There's a reason why this games has got 9.2 IGN rating and very positive reviews overall
The only bad things are the monetisation and the sometimes extreme level gating but it's a really good game besides that
@@YEY0806sure was bro really enjoyed odyssey too great game
It’s one of my top 5 games. Classical Greece felt amazing to explore
People who hate on this game are crazy. Amazing map, graphics, gameplay, story ... people who hate it are just consumed by nostalgia and won't understand that AC is not about Ezio and Altair
@@CYB3R2K Nah you just have shit taste
