What a beauty Sebastian is. I’m guessing he’s the one responsible for all of those late lambs? You are a superstar Cammy, the way you treat animals, so gentle and caring, if only everyone was that way.
I like your whole approach, gentleness + care…it’s something a bit special, in you, we don’t always see in the wider spectrum with animal welfare. That was lovely, thank you + what a handsome boy Sebastian🐏💕 is.
What a beautiful ram. I can’t believe the calm demeanour he has, i think he knows how good looking he is. My god, the beautiful wool he has, when the underneath started showing I swear I could feel it’s silliness. Oh yes, try and show us more if that breed. Are they naturally calm, he seemed to really be chill to be with you and to be shorn. Or do you secretly have a pet ram that you spoil 🤣😂. Love your videos. ❤❤
That fleece is LOVELY. Do you ever hold back some of your fleeces for hand-spinners? I wish I lived down the road. My spinning wheel is crying out for that fleece!
@@shearingseason4965 Do you have anyone present at the shearing who can determine what is good for hand spinning and what should be thrown into the "wool pool"?
Nice work... it hurts to watch tho with all the manuervering of the ram. Talk about flexibility. I'm glad they are none the worst for the wear. You are quite the character....❤
What a mighty belly he has. He’s a strong guy ready to breed some ewes. He has beautiful fleece too and a wonderful disposition. This is a great video Cammy!
My favourite breed of sheep because they have such a beautiful fleece and the rams have really cool curly horns! Not exactly common in Ireland 🇮🇪, maybe I should start a flock for wool! ❤
I enjoy your videos so much, thank you for sharing your shearing with us! Does your farm sell your sheep's fleeces at all? They're so beautiful, I'd love to process and spin one, lol! Happy New Year!
Love the way you talk to him, and watching your fingers or even part of your arm seem to hold some of his skin tight. Looks like keeping the skin from getting caught by the blades. It's amazing how underneath the top layer the fleece is so shiny and soft looking. After he's shorn he looks incredibly compact and well put together. Nice video for this time of year, a pleasant interlude.
I sincerely hope you didn't have the hernia in July while heaving that huge beast about. What a beauty and so calm! Did Lizzy bring him up with the ewes? Is he responsible for the weird lambing times they had? It was fun having a bit of shearing to brighten up a winter day. Thanks, Cammy!
i really love your videos and your whole approach to the animals. it's no surprise to me that they are always so calm under your care! also, i would absolutely love a "native wool" series, showing the whole breed's history. thank you!
I think it is a breed thing as the females have it too. Maybe a throwback to when they were bred for their wool and the more skin then the more wool they would grow =D
A lot of sheep fight the shearer, so would it be worthwhile for them to be "handled" once in a while to get them used to a human touch so they don't kick and struggle so much? Or would it make no difference. Sebastian seemed very calm and patient.
I am uncertain, but you were handling it at 2:50 while shearing the ram. I would think the willy would be further back on the abdomen, but I'm a city-slicker with no experience taking care of sheep. 🤷♀️
I have an idea for you in your spare time. 😆 You can turn these "worthless" fleeces into rugs. You felt them to make a rug instead of using the pelt of a dead animal. "Live" sheep skin rugs, sort of.
If you ever want to shear a pedigree dorper, let us know 👌 A shedding breed obviously...but some of the fields we graze means they get all sorts stuck in their fleece 🤦🏻♀️
Hey maybe something for this or for the podcast but a discussion of the gear you use, comb and cutter preferences and the such like. Might be a small group that enjoys that sort of thing but for those of us that are interested it would be nice to know.

"GentlY and caringLY".
I AGREE IVE SEEN SOME PEOPLE THATS JUST DOWN RIGHT MEAN THIS YOUNG MAN IS SWEET AND VERY NICE AND KIND TO ALL THE SHEEP HE CLEANS
Wow! As a spinner, I am drooling over that fleece! Another breed to put on my bucket list.
Me too! Not sure if I can find that breed easily here in the US.
Same! Now I've got to look it up in the Fleece and Fiber Sourcebook aka the spinners bible.😂😂😂
That is a lot of ram and a lot of fleece. Beautiful! My back hurts watching you maneuver Sebastian. 👍😊👍
I like your whole approach, gentleness + care…it’s something a bit special, in you, we don’t always see in the wider spectrum with animal welfare.
That was lovely, thank you + what a handsome boy Sebastian🐏💕 is.
My spinning wheel is itching to get that wool! Just beautiful!!
Sebastian is gorgeous! And the wool luscious. A super knitted sweater there Cammy! ❤️🇦🇺🏴
I am so amazing at how chilled out Sebastian is about being sheared. 🤯
Wish I could wrestle my horse like that to do a body clip.🐴🤣😂

I never thought I'd be watching sheep shearing here on yt. It's SO SATISFYING.
That fleece is LOVELY. Do you ever hold back some of your fleeces for hand-spinners? I wish I lived down the road. My spinning wheel is crying out for that fleece!
I don't maybe we should start selling the fleeces from this channel. =D
@@shearingseason4965 Do you have anyone present at the shearing who can determine what is good for hand spinning and what should be thrown into the "wool pool"?
(I realize some but not all shearers know this.)
This shearer is so incredibly good at his job! No nicks and bleeding sheep after!
Sebastian has beautiful wool. You did an excellent job shearing.

Sebastion is such a nice calm sheep.
I was waiting for him to start workin you with that thick neck of his but he stayed calm the whole way! Well done Cammy
That fleece was so awesome! I would love to wash, card and spin this fleece! You sure take great care of your sheep! ❤
Sebastian is one handsome animal. I love watching you handle sheep.
What a handsome ram! And so shiny! I'm just starting to learn how to spin wool. I'll have to keep an eye out for a fleece from one of these beauties!
A boy Cammy another good video 👍.
He looks like a strong lad, you're lucky he was quiet 😂.
Lovely fleece, pity wool has such little value.
I've got to think that there is a handspinner market in the UK (or even small-batch woolen mills?). Small, no doubt, but EXTREMELY interested.
I had actually just been rewatching the old episodes, always nice to see a new one posted.
Nice fleece looks to be good for handspinning
My favourite breed of sheep because they have such a beautiful fleece and the rams have really cool curly horns! Not exactly common in Ireland 🇮🇪, maybe I should start a flock for wool! ❤
wow Sebastian is a big boy! Beautiful wool.

Gorgeous boy and a stunning fleece! What a joy that would be to spin by hand.

Like shearing a cloud. So soft.🙂☁️💜
A lovely Ram with a beautiful fleece.
Wow, beautiful fleece.
Thank you cammy happy new year to you & Lizzy & the kids ❤❤
Happy new year!!
I would imagine this is a relaxing experience for the animal!
This is how you got a hernia. He is a beautiful animal and you are so kind and gentle with him. Thank you for sharing
Beautiful wool! It's a breed whose wool I haven't spun yet. I'd love to give it a try.
Sebastian looked so confused after he ran off, like “What the hell just happened?! I feel so much lighter!”
Love the shearing videos.
Beautiful ram!
Sebastian sure is cuddly and gentle!
Sébastien is a handsome one. Brilliant fleece I love that golden color 😊❤
What a good boy! He is so cute! I love his pink skin. 😁
Sebastian is gorgeous.
Beautiful fleece ❤
Sebastian is gorgeous. The shine of his clipped skin… so lustrous. I wanted to feel it.

Das ist wirklich klasse, wie Sie die Schafe scheren. Kraft und Entschlossenheit und gute Handwerkskunst!
Is it Sébastien that is just a chill sheep 🐑? Or is it his breed is a chill breed ?
They are pretty chill. Nice small sheep.... although he's big =D
That was very satisfying to watch.
i really love your videos and your whole approach to the animals. it's no surprise to me that they are always so calm under your care! also, i would absolutely love a "native wool" series, showing the whole breed's history. thank you!
FIRST! Sebastian is gorgeous.
Wow he's sooo big with sooo much wool!!!❤❤❤
Cammy you're the man!
Sebastian is so handsome sheared .
Hah, as you’re shearing the ewe, I’m thinking “that is NOT a ram!” Lol.
He really is gorgeous. Question, why the “wrinkles”? Is it a dairy quality? As you can see I don’t have a clue…🤦♀️✌️🤍
I think it is a breed thing as the females have it too. Maybe a throwback to when they were bred for their wool and the more skin then the more wool they would grow =D
He’s beautiful!
That is some beautiful wool there !
You really need to come to America to shear a Columbia!
Once we have completed the UK we'll do that!
A lot of sheep fight the shearer, so would it be worthwhile for them to be "handled" once in a while to get them used to a human touch so they don't kick and struggle so much? Or would it make no difference. Sebastian seemed very calm and patient.
Another visit to the Baa Baa Shop.
And not a single nick despite all the wrinkles.
Lizzy's favorite
Nice job ! Would like an update on Fiona 🐑
Do sheep have glands in their groins 🤔 There is always some brown/yellow goop there when they are sheared 😉
Yeah!
I admit I'm clueless, but did he have a wee umbilical hernia?
Beautiful sheep.
Not that I noticed! It wasn't just his willy?
I am uncertain, but you were handling it at 2:50 while shearing the ram. I would think the willy would be further back on the abdomen, but I'm a city-slicker with no experience taking care of sheep. 🤷♀️
Will they no get really cold in January with nae wool?
Your making a joke, Hahaha. There are leaves on the trees, that was not videoed in January.
This was July 😁

Çok tatlılar güzeller 🐏🐑🐏🥰😘
What ewes do you use him on and are the results worthwhile. ?
I've got to ask, Your in England right, Heingher shearing gear, Isn't Lister English Made? is it just to expensive or Heingher throws more your way
Any chance that you'd name one of your future female sheep Watame?
I will try. We usually only name the rams and the very special ladies like Fiona.
@@shearingseason4965 Oh nice. Thank you.
Wondering why your shearing this time of year?
This was filmed in Juluy Shane. Just kept it up my sleeve.
What's that orange stuff on his inner rear left thigh?
Probably urine.
It's a sort of wax that builds up in the crease there. i'm guessing from llanolin they produce but not totally sure.
@@shearingseason4965 Thanks!
Stuur mijn zo'n mooi velletje maar op naar nederland 😂 zo ik blij mee zijn 😅

Good shout. This summer I might mention before each sheep what i'm using.
Jij scheert ook goed .
First like ! 😁
