Industrial metal does make sense for the Unreal Tournament 2004 soundtrack. I remember listening to this during my first middle school year and playing this game when I was little, it was amazing.

I remember like it was yesterday. I pirated the game from a friend and our first DM was with this track. I was so amazed.

Oh yes. Mine soon hated the rocket launcher because it quickly became my favorite.

This game's soundtrack was so good, it was really a kick in the balls when I realized I had to turn music off to play games (including this one of course) as best I could. Sadly the music is very distracting and throws your timing off, not to mention if you actually have it pretty loud, you can't hear enemy footsteps and other ambient sounds that can help you.

What that used to trance me with a HYPE made the game sooooo much more worth and made me play like a beast

This, but in game modes like onslaught, capture flag, footsteps aren't as important. Blast the music.

I've never been distracted by game audio before, no matter how kick-ass it is
I just don't get how that could distract people so easily

I love the music and I would think I'd get distracted by it, but it just gets me into the zone or "flow" as some people call it. I agree that you need sound effects audio to have an advantage, but footsteps aren't that important when the jump sounds and item pick-up sounds are so loud. You can hear someone pick up a weapon from like 20 feet away. If someone isn't dodge-jumping constantly to get to the next item pickup so that you have to listen for their footsteps, they suck. That's just how it is, they aren't fast enough and they won't get any of the major items.

I was quite surprised to realize that multiplayer UT2004 actually is played like a stealth action :O

Too bad Epic cares more about a horrible game like Fortnite instead of a true legend like Unreal Tournament. UT4 was shaping up to take the crown away from UT99 as one of the best games ever made.
