Punk vs Dax Harwood would be a great money match if Dax is buildup. From a storyline point, Punk turning on Dax would ultimately make Dax the biggest face in AEW and Punk the biggest heel. It isn't a good idea to have people with legit heat fight each other in a match, as trust is required to know that your opponent will keep you safe in the ring. The Elite might have tried to injure Punk in a match for re if it was in the ring.
It's crazy to me that they just can't believe that there are people out there who find them bad, boring wrestlers. If you're going to partake in the arts at any sort of scale, you need to accept that no matter how good you think you are, there are people that think you suck. And that's OK. You can't make everybody happy, and not understanding this is the downfall of many artists.
The reason Tony Khan and Dave connect so well is because their love of professional wrestling is centered heavily around process. I've always said that AEW is the first major post-wrestling promotion. A meta promotion. It's always process over product. It's no coincidence that many of the AEW wrestlers come from that same mindset. It's process first, business second. Because of their mutual love of process, Dave has felt very emboldened to stake his ground. It's his dream come true to connect with someone like Tony. He feels empowered and it's why he has become such a vocal player in this whole drama. I'm in the minority as far as AEW's future is concerned -- this is a treadmill promotion that has enough energy to drag on for a few decades and ultimately influence a new generation of talent in the wrong way. TNA is AEW's forefather but had better wrestling and star power.

I'm actually a big CM Punk fan. But my first thought when hearing that Punk said he'd work with the EVPs was also very, very skeptical. Truth is, I don't think he would. I think he said that knowing damn well that them saying the same is tantamount to admitting that they were in the wrong, because it allows him to come back, it allows his supporters to be justified. Which means that they will never say it. And that will make them look like the bad guys even more than they already do.
Punk has dealt with far worse politickers than the Cucks and Chris Jerkoff. Hell, if Triple H politicked his way into trying to get a match with Punk at Mania then Punk was definitely doing _something_ right.

That’s it he’s never said one thing about the Elite not being willing to work with them or preventing Punks return. The people accusing him of gaslighting the company have all just inferred them saying that but the reality is people are believeing their unwillingness to work with Punk because the Elite have been silent about it and not expressed anything about wanting or actively working on working things out. If the Elite felt they were being thrown under the bus they could easily publicly state they’ll do business or they could explain why they won’t. But they won’t say anything and then get upset that people are inferring their mindsets which is entirely a result from them choosing to stay silent and expressing no indication of being willing to be professional.

It's crazy to me that they just can't believe that there are people out there who find them bad, boring wrestlers. If you're going to partake in the arts at any sort of scale, you need to accept that no matter how good you think you are, there are people that think you suck. And that's OK. You can't make everybody happy, and not understanding this is the downfall of many artists.

The reason Tony Khan and Dave connect so well is because their love of professional wrestling is centered heavily around process. I've always said that AEW is the first major post-wrestling promotion. A meta promotion. It's always process over product. It's no coincidence that many of the AEW wrestlers come from that same mindset. It's process first, business second.
Because of their mutual love of process, Dave has felt very emboldened to stake his ground. It's his dream come true to connect with someone like Tony. He feels empowered and it's why he has become such a vocal player in this whole drama.
I'm in the minority as far as AEW's future is concerned -- this is a treadmill promotion that has enough energy to drag on for a few decades and ultimately influence a new generation of talent in the wrong way. TNA is AEW's forefather but had better wrestling and star power.
