This song brings back a great memory of going white water rafting in BC back in the mid- late 90's. We were all on a bus heading to the rafts from the Cultus Lake waterpark and the entire bus except for me and my buddy were Canadians. They were playing music on the bus on the way to our destination and this song came on...everybody on the bus sang along..Good times!

Couldn't click on this fast enough! I really wish they'd tour together one last time for the fans. They would earn millions and Steve could ride off into the sunset.

So many years after first hearing this song, 'Dijon ketchup' is a phrase still regularly used in my family (for a particularly yummy mustard-flavoured mayonaise we sometimes bring back from holidays in France).

My favourite improvs of this song are at the end of Crazy on Gordon. Ed's just throwing random dumb shit at Steve and Steve just doesn't know how to react. So good. That entire end part of Crazy is golden.

The bit about it not being possible to create a campfire song is bang on. Not many songs reach that status.
Also, Kraft Dinner was so much better when cooked outdoors 😊 👌

"If I had a million dollars...I'd be rich." (This is a great karaoke song too as long as you've got 2 good male singers to sing it LOL)

I had to check the inflation calculator, and apparently $1,000,000 in 1992 is worth $1,801,797.46 today (July 2023), so yeah I guess he's still right at the end there, you'd be relatively rich but probably couldn't buy all the stuff mentioned in the song lol. Anyway the song is a timeless classic

Sorry to disagree with the artist but it _was_ a single and it was a hit. I heard it all the time on Canadian radio and I also heard it in a outlet store in Daytona Beach Florida, the local radio station blaring through the store speakers.
According to Wikipedia: The song reached number 13 in Canada and eventually charted in the United Kingdom and the United States, peaking at number 13 on the UK Rock Chart in 1996 and number 37 on the US Billboard Adult Top 40 in 2000.

I’m sorry but bnl is nowhere near the same without Page... it’s sad that they can’t even come together to tour... for the fans, not themselves, but the fans that put them on the map to begin with.

I find it sad that there's a parallel Behind The Vinyl video of this song with two of the other band members. Too bad they all couldn't be together to talk about it but we all know the story there. I'd have preferred just one video for this song. Too much "elephant in the room" syndrome when I watch these.

This was the main problem with lots of stuff from that era. Lyrics were meant to sound absurd, so really they had no lasting meaning. It wasn't funny or poetic or dramatic or anything. It was just filler. Just something to fill the space over the music. The music meant a lot, but the lyrics made the songs fade away so fast. It was all so forgettable. And that sums up a lof of stuff from that era- completely forgettable.

Completely disagree. Just because it, like most hits from the past don't get radio time anymore, (radio stations are biased only to play top 40 unless its classic rock) doesn't mean that the minute someone hears it, they know all the words and can still sing along with a smile and laugh. I just replaced my entire BNL library on CD because I lost everything in a home fire, and I'm happy to remember this band always as making some of the most iconic music of that era.......Steven Page was the lure for me with that iconic voice.

The lyrics weren't absurd. The banter is goofy in-jokes referencing both famous and somewhat more obscure pop culture ephemera. Other than that it's wholesome as pie sentiments and generally common what ifs.
