Steven Page is a genuinely nice human being. If you ever meet him on the street and go up to him in a respectful manner, he generally gives you a moment out of his day to say thank you and take a pic and give an autograph. There's next to no arrogant "rockstar" behavior from him.
This entire album (Maybe you should drive) transports me....I think it’s BNL’s best work. So many beautiful love songs. You will be waiting is also one of favorites. Thank you Steve for everything!!
Personally I would rank "Jane" as one of the greatest songs ever written. I knew a girl just like her. Simply an impossibility. "Jane is tired/'cause every man becomes a lovesick jerk". "Jane decided/Only cowards stay while traitors run." If you've never known someone like her perhaps you can't identify. It manages to retain humor in the face of automatic heartbreak. Musically - the chorus especially - it is just pure gorgeousness. Thanks for this great song, Steve and Stephen, and this great record, BNL and their producer.
Tho I have to add one little qualifier - _every_ live version I've heard by them, including the one when I saw them in person, has been better than this original studio version. A favorite live touch is the piano part building to the chorus. It adds major besuty.
I totally agree. I love The Beatles and it has a Bealtesque feel but right up there with their best work. Lyrically it is beautiful and the bridge part is great
Always thought $$$$ a big reunion tour would bring them back together. Guess they really don't enjoy each other's company any longer. Too bad. They could be doing stadiums not little clubs.
Wow, this finally answered the mystery of "Maybe You Should Drive". I love BNL, and I've loved at least a few songs off of even the few albums I didn't love entirely, with the exception of MYSD. That was the one album I completely panned. I own it, and I tried and tried to like it, but I never did. Not one song. I guess the secret was that this British guy that Steven Page loves so much, was, for me, a terrible song writer. Sorry Steven, I really don't like your friend. I still love you though.

I love this. Always wondered about who "Jane" was. It's a really fun and well written song and still holds up after all these years
What a great story behind that song. Huge Steven Duffy and the lilac time fan so nice to hear this.
Always loved BNL. So glad to see them perform and come together at the Hall of Fame.
The stories behind the music are really great to hear ...

Was a nice song and was nice to hear their more mature side . This song paints such a vivid picture and i still am happy to hear it come on the radio
thank you Steven, thank you for all the great music.
Sorry to hear that Steven Page is no longer in the band .
I love these cool stories, now i'll never forget how they came up with name 'Jane'. :)))))
Awesome, thank-you. Love your solo work.
This Jane approves:)
I miss him with BNL,but I’m glad I got to see him play them and it ended up being my first concert.
Love you Steven. Thank you for everything. Need a new album, btw
Loved this song too
Soooo gooood😊
Fun Fact: Stephen Duffy was the original lead singer of Duran Duran.
His work was wicked on The Devils.
I so very much love these BEHIND THE VINYL videos. :-)
Love these
I love your voice Steven. Loved you being the front man 👍
Love this one.
I love this song. I think most of the BNL songs that I gravitated to, were written by Steven.
It’s not the same without Steve in BNL.
thats a lot of good music right there
Love these sessions. You need to get Luba to comment on her big 80s hits - she's another Canadian legend who inexplicably faded into obscurity.
Yes! I totally agree, I love Luba and think we should also include Parachute Club and some others in that canadian artist party!
What...no quick mention of the "while I shoplift there" little easter egg? :-)
So nice
BNL are a fine wine.
Bravo!
I half wish he would get back with BNL, and Im half fine with him doing what he does now.

I often wonder what happened to my Jane some 30+yrs later...🤔
PLEASE IVE SEEN BNL SO MUCH WITHOUT YOU
Fan of the BNL too too bad about page left the group
Whats with the blood shot eyes?
Not a BNL fan… but they are BLAH without this dude.
More like sitting beside the vinyl.
Yeah I think it's overdue ........
They work better together .
Not the same without him.
As if any band could be without a Key player right .... 0
LMAO. You can hear that the stylus isn't grabbing at all.

I'm 3 years late but you're crazy! MYSD is fantastic. Top 5 BNL albums for me
I so very much love these BEHIND THE VINYL videos. :-)
