Is almost magical how a mushroom can sprinkle some dust and a single spec of that dust can then find a random surface and use whatever resources available to grow into a whole new mushroom
I remember doing this once! …I accidentally got a close up of a spider hiding in it. Immediately cured my arachnophobia and probably because I was too stunned to react in fear. 😅
As a hoh person i really appreciate how subtle your captions were. Some people have animated colourful bouncy single-word captions that are hard to read & really annoying. These captions were nice. They were small, a good font, & the colouring animation was a subtle animation to give them visual interest without damaging the legibility.
Somehow when i get mine i always end up accidentally falling with the syringe in my hand and accidentally stabbing it into one of the sterilized grain bags i have sitting around. I've never had any make it to the microscope slide 😢 😂
Taking psilocybin for PTSD from SA and addiction treatment got me super heavy into mycology but people like to forget there are lots of really beautiful things about other species besides cubensis 🍄♥️
I’ve got a bunch of Psilocybe Subaeruginosa aka blue meanies making some nice purple spore prints right now! Gonna try and grow them. Supposedly they are terribly hard to grow but hell why not give it a go
I'm really liking the small text off to the side and that it doesn't pop each word individually. Rapid fire words popping right in the center of the screen is so distracting.
Psylocybin spores are actually generally purple or black when theyre heavily concentrated. The blue is when the actual mushroom body is bruised and some of the psylocybin is exposed to air it oxidizes and forms a compound similar to indigo dye.
Another cool fact about mushrooms is when they can't find a nice stop, they grow underground, forming a truffle. One conditions meet their liking they sprout and go above ground to then spread its own spores
Unlike a seed, spores are produced without pollen and food storage. However, they are like pollen in the way the fungus produces millions of them, of which 99.99% die, but it is worth it because only one success is needed for reproduction.
in elementary school, our teacher had us do a similar experiment. we were told to put the mushroom caps on construction paper, and present it in class or something. i forgot mine under my bed and had to be rushed to the hospital when it rotted. i learned that day i am deathly allergic to fungus.
Yeah to Basidiomycetes. I ID spores all day long. Some times I get air samples from people that have certain types of basidiomycetes growing in there homes on purposes for that saturday night at the Dave Matthew's cover band. Lol
you know what's insane, we can machine stuff with better acuracy than the length of a spore, imagine that, imagine if someone came to you and was like, i need you to take just a little bit off the top of this metal cube, please take off 1 micrometer, a quarter the size of a spore. and your like: no prob bruv, our species already knows how to do that. lemme mill that for you real quick. it's insane.
Mushrooms are what got me into microscopy in the first place.
Same
What is so interesting about them in context of microscopy?
@@user-xv2xk6jb8t some edible members of certain families (Agaricus for example) can be identified by their spores.
@@user-xv2xk6jb8tthey're weird living beings, cool to see what's going on
Mmhmm "microscopy" spore samples
Fun fact, the earliest trees on earth reproduced with spores
Another fun fact: mushrooms are more closely related to humans than they are to trees.
Plants still produce spores. Plant lifecycles are way freakier than people realise.
Fun fact: those trees are now ferns and other sporal plants like horsetails. They still do reproduce with spores.

It actually takes two spores to reproduce but that's no less incredible
Takes 2 spores, and the said spores grow out into a mycelium network. Producing hundreds of mushrooms, not just a singular one.
The spores are like little tiny astronauts expanding their species into the cosmos.
You just described the regular life cycle of plants. And yes, mushrooms are cool
Even crazier when you remember the mushroom is just one TINY piece of the entire organism.
Oh man, those mushroom spores are really tripping me out.
I see what you did there
What a funguy.
Wrong kind u want blk spores
The purple spores are the funnest.👍
@@JamesJones-cx5pkfungest
This guy kinda sounds like the solar death ray guy but for mushrooms
Totally rad!
I was thinking the exact same thing
I thought this immediately
I haven't seen a video from CloseIntel for AGES! So glad to see one at last.
Same bro, think it's been at least 3 months since I've seen a vid from him
Yeah I'm on the comments blowing it up to try and appease the algo gods
The ones I use to grow usually had purple spore prints and would bruise blue if you weren’t gentle
Damn that’s a nice mushroom print
Ive got some nice purple spore prints😁
I want 😂🍄
Albino spores are clear sometimes - like these appear; but that strain would only Maybe be considered Leusistic.
We did this in my plant pathology class coolest thing ever.
I remember doing this once!

The purple spores is where it's at
It looks exactly like an iris
I thought he was gonna actually be the first person in history to actually buy a psylocybin spore syringe for microscopy research 😂
I heard so much about this in my classes but I never got to see the real thing. Thanks man!
The purple spores taste fantastic. Like pixi stix candy.
The purple spores from cow pastures are weird.🤣🤣🤣👍
Cool
Back in my day we called it a mushroom stamp

HOH: Hard Of Hearing
(For those of us that don't know)
Similar to mold spores, they are all in the air and given the right humidity and temperature condition, will flourish
This is really cool
Remember folks, panaelous subbalteus should have lemon shaped spores, with a rust color.
Incredible. Thank you so much for showing us 💕🍄
I always imagined mushroom spores looking like TINY mushrooms 😂😂😂🤦♀️
Purple spores usually indicate the fun mushrooms.
not a good rule to live by. you really need to be sure what mushroom it is if youre going to consume it
@nofrbls3640 k
Yeah, I heard “Shit talking mushrooms”
Yo thats actually super cool. I had no idea they make sporr prints
Remember you can buy psilocybe cubensis/shroom spores for "microscopy"

I always thought the purple mushroom from video games was just colored that way to convey that it’s poisonous.
Have you done fern spores. It's so interesting growing ferns from spore, and hard apparently but I'm attempting to grow some anyway
I'm really liking the small text off to the side and that it doesn't pop each word individually. Rapid fire words popping right in the center of the screen is so distracting.
The Shia-hulud appears in many strange ways
Finally, someone who use the correct metods to use a microscope
As a former precision machinist, 3 microns is pretty big. That's ~0.00012". But 40 microns is YUGE! 0.0016"! That's half a hair!
You know you're lucky when the spores are purple :-)
That print looks like an eyeball crazy
You should do a short about moss
Love what you're doing man, keep it up 🎉😊
Anyone else disappointed the spores don't look like tiny mushrooms?

Yay it's been forever since you've been on my feed!
So interesting. So you can do that basically with any store bought mushrooms, right?
Great videos! Can you please show dishsoap vs germs? Thanks!
I had no clue it would be that easy to collect spores!!
they do kinda look like the spore attack in PvZ

Everytime I hear the word shiitake I’m reminded of the Japanese subtitle gag from austin powers
You can also make spore prints on paper. I've actually never heard of using foil until now.
What magnification is this?
I was waiting for the end to change to a clip of EA's Spore

I just think it’s crazy how small fungi spores are compared to plant seeds.
spores are the older and more primitive version of seeds, ferns, one of the oldest type of plants has spores instead of seeds as well.
I find when taking a spore print, a tiny drop of water on the cap helps to expedite the process.
Be careful, the deep rock galactic fans can hear you and mission control will be pissed
Forgot to mention that unlike seeds, spores need another partner (a + and a -) to start the colony?
millions to billions of spores
Your phone has over a million pixels.. so, yeah hundreds of thousands of spores might be an undercut but not wrong
i really wanted to see tiny mushrooms haha.
Nice Spongebob font. 👍

Maybe a stupid question, but Are they just flowing? Or do they self propel?
the wind disperses them, they flow in this video because of the water on the slide
I love Shit-Hockey mushrooms
What if I snort a line of mushroom spores like Scarface?
If you dont have a microscope, use white printer paper instead, this will also show you the color and spore print.
