Sweet. You should make some custom lures. They would be dope.
Hi
Shouldn't steal anything
are you going to release a morale patch for the MLPH gear? Like a 2 inch by 3 inch velcro for hats
You better of asked him otherwise we will plan a very good prank on you too 😘
Should I try antique rods next!?!?
Any thing you do is a banger

Oof 💀🤐
Lew’s reels were manufactured by Shimano when they first debuted.. according to everything I’ve found. Looking like they started making that particular reel in 1976.
Were can I find this?
@@ilfishing3208 this was 5 months ago.. but I just googled it iirc.
Congrats to who sees this. Have a good day
Ok I will
you too
@@landsharkdrew935 thanks
You too
Those Shimanos didn’t have a one-way anti-reverse bearing, that’s why the handles have a lot of play with them. They had an anti-reverse paw. So the handles will move backwards slightly before they stop. Shimano didn’t introduce the one-way anti-reverse bearing until the Calcutta and Chronarch in the early 1990s.
An older guy that worked at bass pro was telling me one day about how shimano use to make bike parts and lew's contracted them to make reel parts for them, when old man lews died shimano took all their info they learned making parts for lews and started making their own reel's.
You should do a review of the Shakespeare agility rod and reel combo.
Agility rod is actually pretty good, haven’t used the reel tho
From one Veteran to another I appreciate your service and good for you brother chasing your dream. Love your channel!
Always a good day when yakpak uploads a new fire video 💯🤙🔥
Its 100 in south Florida, while here in Michigan we got an snow storm today.
You and Norm are my favorite youtube anglers. So cool and down to earth. A couple of good gents. 👍👍👍👍👍
Awesome vid bro love the old gear man. I wish they could talk. I’m sure they have some stories!
Excellent video yak love the green pumpkin purple ! Keep up the great content!
i have a ton of those old old ones past down and i use them a lot but they work very well
I use a shamano bantam coriolis and that casts like a dream! Love the videos!
When I was fishing tournaments back in the nineties, including BASS Top 100’s, my go to reels were the Lews Speedspool BB1, and the BB1n, and the gold series BB1ng. Back then they were a top reel. I had them matched with GLoomis rods. Made a lot of money on those combos. Still have most of them today and they work fine.
Great vid bro.
The glory days . And yes they were the best. Getting myself one finally. Back then I gave into the spider wire hype, had the sc3000 reel and a couple team diawa. Just grabbed a abu mag 1yesterday, getting the Lew's bb1 next weekend
@@randygreen6652
I too tried spider wire when it first came out. I threw that s**t in the trash. Fast forward to 2022, I tried it again hoping technology might have come a long way since then. Well, I threw that s**t in the trash too. Goodbye spider wire forever. Can’t stand it. I’ve used plenty of other brand braids and never had a problem. Even the cheap brands.
You got 100 degree weather and here in Indiana,we are getting snow tonight? Wild shit.I have a similar Bantam reel. I got 2 old Bantams actually,I still use one. The one i use,I took apart, cleaned and lubed it up and that thing will send it,but its slow.
As for the reel,Shimano manufactured the original Lews speed spool reels,so it was a Lews design, made by Shimano.
Ha I feel the vibes.. currently 10minutes out of lacrosse Indiana at the cabin😂
I been catching a lot bass recently and I can't wait for this fishing season
Yo it is currently snowing in the great lakes. Middle of April and snow.
Yeah it snowed in Illinois today even though we had some 60 degree weather like a week ago
Snowing in Colorado Springs, too
Same with western Maryland more of flurries though
70 in missouri and snowing the next morning.
It is in Indiana as well
Yessir!! Ice melted 2 months ago here in Indiana but fishings been very tough!
I will never forget the way the shimano sounds when you cast it. Classic.
Light snow here today in PA! Greeeeat for the fishing to get a snow storm a few weeks into spring lol
Another quality video! Wish the weather would warm up in the midwest
Yeah I’m up in Vermont the lakes are just barely opening this week can’t wait to get out on the old jon boat
Love the vids keep doing what you are doing
My favorite channel never change the pond hoper aspect🔥🔥🔥
I could be wrong, but I believe Lew’s and Shimano partnered until the late 70s. So the model you’re holding is from sometime in the mid to late 70s. I believe Lew’s later partnered with Ryobi . That same model reel you’re holding would eventually become the Ryobi AD4000v/5000v with some minor differences. Ryobi would go on to make some pretty amazing baitcast reels until sometime in the late 90s. Not 100% sure of the exact timeline of all this.
Great video. I've got a couple of antique reels myself I'll have to try them out with djpfishing.
Hope to see you real soon.
We checked out Osceola Outback for the barramundi this past week that was awesome, got around 18 fish.👍😁
I saw Antique Baitcaster Reels and I knew this would be good
Video hasn’t started yet, already dropped a like cuz I know it’s gonna be a banger😎
After a horrible day the upload is MUCH appreciated ha.. 🔥 video bro
Ayyy new vid! Know it will be a good one
Oh so it's 100 degrees in Florida while it's snowing during my baseball practice up in Wisconsin.
"The Bug is the Drug" and "The Googan Mondo Worm is the Bomb" 💣 💣 💣
I like that 11lb 4oz! LOL 😆 🤣 😂
Yo Yakpak you should do a challenge against Norm with more antique stuff like lures, line, rods, reels, and old terminal tackle. Love the channel. Keep up the great work. I have always wanted to meet you and Norm but I dont live near florida
Me: wanting to fish
Ohio: oh Srry my bad how bout some snow
WV here. I feel your pain.
I did this a while back. A 70yo Penn reel and a couple of 30yo Abu's. They worked!
I guess as long as it's maintained, it's fine. I ride a bike from 1987, works as well as anything made today.
Old stuff was built to last. Life time warranty on Ambassadeurs should be enough clue...;-)
Fishing with Yak cracks me up
Positive vibes on the Yak Pak channel only.
Surprised in those reels! Great video man👍🏻
Sheesssshhhhhhh!!!!!! Them og reels still kick like a baby duck at bath time!🤣👍 but fr great baits "bug is the drug"!
Dang those ponds look so juicy. Snowed and sleeted the other day here in Mass 😭
Day 3 of asking him to put hooks on animal toys and catch fish
this right here
Sounds like a great challenge
another great video good job
Shimano started off making Lews reels. ... with Ryobi from that point (BB-1N and BB- 1NG) until the late 1980s/early 1990s
Got myself a huge bag last weekend in mass. Norths getting there!!
I use a 1994 silstar baitcaster as my jig combo ( or anything heavy or large ) and it works amazing
Poor norm such a happy guy
Yo yakpak if you want to know in quebec most of the fishing starts near the 28th april but we have also winter fishing on ice that is unic here
Cool reel kit
Im upstate New York in the Rochester area its clear of ice but snowing today. But that doesn’t mean the grind never stops
Hey yakpak sick vid so far 🤙🇺🇸
The bug is the drug!! 😂
Love the vids 👍 top class
Fire video my brotha! Bro you should put ya boy on some peacock bass. Hell I'd settle for largemouth bass. Here in Northeast Tennessee they are just starting to move up so for a bank angler like me its super hard
Let's go new yak pak vid
Shimano started making the Lew's speed spool fishing reel in the Mid 1970's for Lew Childre. Soon after Shimano started Making their own
My favorite lake just unthawed last week can’t wait to get back on it and rip a few lip
In Oklahoma it was 30 degrees earlier and now it is 70
I still have my original quantum energy e600ti baitcast reel I bought when I was 16yrs old in 1991. It still works fine, and still is in great shape. That is because it is made out of aluminum frame and brass gears. The only things I changed on it were the ball bearings and the drag disks.
And it was one of the speedy reels at the time 6:3:1 gear ratio
Yessss clicked insta. Love the vids
Awesome episode yakpak!! I got one of the very first bantams that shimano pit it. It's all metal with a gorgeous logo that. I'd love to see you do a video with it ! Get in touch with me and let's make it happen!
man, I’d make my first fishing video with your reel!! I just bought a bantam black magnum fightin star from a garage sale and I don’t know how old it is but I bought it because it looked vintage and since it’s a shimano I know that it’s gonna be a decent reel despite how old it is. I also found a vintage Berkeley lightning rod which is only 5ft but I figured I’d buy it so that I can make a vintage fishing video:)
The reason that shimano and lews collaborated on that reel is that was the first reel shimano made and they wanted to get their name out so they partnered with lews
Love it man
Decades ago Lew’s collaborated with companies like Shimano and Browning to make their reels. “Lewmano” 😂🤣 From the North the ice is gone. Water is cold but I have been able to Trout fish and pond hop.
That anti reverse is how they were back then only know this from (nature of fishing) underrated channel
I learned how to use a baitcaster on a Shimano B-Mag 1000 similar to the first one you used
YakPak flips Bandito bug contemplates every fish caught on it
Liking the bug is the drug. And they are awesome.
The incline. That's the word you were searching for. I just coped that white pond hopper tee
Went fishing at little in the middle of no where pond known for yellow belly bullheads and I ended up landing 16 cats, 6 carp, and 2 largemouth bass, no joke I only used night crawlers for bait all day.
This dude can catch a fish with anything
The bug is the drug much love yakpak
Cane fishing pole challenge for some peacock bass!!! Let’s see it TJ!
Just got back from dania beach ft Lauderdale saw the peacock bass they were bedding no luck
Absolutely cool🎣
CMON PEOPLE LETS GET 3500 LIKE I WANT TO SEE HIM STEAL NORMS STUFFlol
It was warm but today it snowed here in Indiana I caught a little lber in the snow it was cool
My oldest baitcaster is from 1972 its a red abu with a pearl handle.
Got it sent to me for scanning some stuff for someone with a webtv.
I love your videos man☺️☺️☺️
i actually caught my pb on that exact model of reel (the old one of course)
Lol I still fish with my Lews and Quantum Bantam i bought in the 70s they have out lived a lot of new reels
The bug is the drug my favorite googan bait so far
HAHA the "Limano" LOL😅🤣😂
look up that shimano lews history, I learned something! Lews actually got Shimano started with that reel!
hey buddy I have a pair of Daiwa Baitcast reels that are over 38 years old and still work GREAT called Mag Force with magnetic brakes
I only have a bike for transportation but its too hard to carry up 3 floors Ill be 70 in November. Tight lines C-Ya
Love you yak
Shimano made Lew Childre reels before they made their own. Lew Childre also introduced Fuji to American fishermen and ladies. I also have both of those reels.
Got some blue baby and it’s 🔥!!
I have an antique bantam rod with the same design in a good condition.
You should do a fishing tourney
I've got a Shimano that I retired a few years ago that's identical to the Shimano but mines a lh version.
Finesse worms have been the juice at my local pond in green pumpkin I've caught multiple 6-7 lbers and an 11.2 finally in the DD club after 30 years but I'm bringing my boy who just got over the virus out and picked up some blue baby slim shakes lets see how they do here in tampa
I just picked up three shimano bantan txmags a couple days ago haha
i love your vids me and my son watch them together and bro you got a bigin
What size of braid you suggest for Okuma Komado SS 273 size is 0.4 80Lb good?
I have an old automatic fly reel that's worth over 300$ definitely holding onto it and taking care of it can only go up up up
Like video. You caught some nice fish. Your content is good. Use the e z shoe color match swim bait.
I just got interested in fishing and bought my first bait caster today off someone on Facebook.. it’s a shimano bantam black magnum fightin star.. whatever that means.. but I can’t really find much about jt online except a bunch of people talking about how great these are.. I guess we’ll see
