    It's very interesting how the Swedish you speak has a german accent when you recently came from England, i find languages and accents interesting and i think you speak good Swedish, the words are very clear and it's because you still learn it i think, natives tends to speak more quickly and not always formulating words clearly, which i think it's good that you do.

    Chris; if you're missing going to footboll games, you should experience going to Friends Arena and watch AIK play. It's awesome! The atmosphere is almost as in England, and at derbys even better. 😉

    What an awesome video. More like that.
    Chris seems like a really nice guy.
    You have to persuade him to join more, it lifts the channel.
    I don't know how long you practiced those Swedish phrases but it sounds really good.
    Timekettle seems to work smoothly.

    Yeah! Finally Julia is going to talk some swedish. And i don´t think Chris should criticize you for your swedish pronunciation. Nothing wrong how you said Skansen. And also german is a closely related
    language to swedish so it is very easy to understand you. In comparison with an, let´s say french speaking person.

    Ni är båda två väldigt vackra. 🌼
    I also enjoy hearing your German (and your Swedish with a German accent!).
    Speaking of which: I think the live translation specifically _from_ German into (for example) English can be a little trickier for the app, since the verb gets
    placed last in German subordinate clauses (Nebensätze) - perhaps the app might "give up" on a longer sentence while waiting for that verb to drop at the end. 😅

    En skans is a redoubt so Skansen should translate as the redoubt. I guess they offer a very limited word list in Swedish. You could argue that we don't use that type of fortification anylonger but you see the word now and then when you drive past an old redoubt so personally I think it should be in the list.

    Hi! I am having a hard time, trying to learn to speak Swedish, watching videos. I was told there are 7 dialects! I have picked up some words, reading them, but, hearing it is totally different!

    • @LivingSwedish
      @LivingSwedish  8 месяцев назад +2

      I totally understand. The best is to listen to word / sentences in Swedish over and over again. That's the best way to learn 🇸🇪

      7? Swedish is traditionally divided into six major dialect groups: Norrland, Svealand, Gotland, Götaland, South Swedish and East Swedish (Finland Swedish). The actual number of dialects is several hundred, though most are more or less mutually intelligible, with the exception of some highly diverging forms found in Dalarna, Norrbotten and Gotland.

      @@JohnPaul-158 Stockholm used to have different dialects in different parts of the city. For example, Södermalm and Lidingö used to have their own distinct dialects. Some of it still remains, but not much.
